Over 30 endangered animals released into King Khalid Royal Reserve

RIYADH — The National Center for Wildlife (NCW), in collaboration with the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority, has released over 30 endangered animals into the King Khalid Royal Reserve, as part of programs for breeding and reintroducing endangered species into their natural habitats.
The release included 20 Arabian sand gazelles, five Arabian Oryx, four wild hares, three steppe eagles, and a Black kite, aiming to boost the reserve's biodiversity, restore ecological balance, enhance sustainability, and promote eco-tourism.
These national efforts reflect the Kingdom's pioneering efforts in preserving natural resources and pursuing sustainable development through building sustainable ecological models. They also demonstrate its commitment to global environmental protection and sustainability.

Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has completed preparations for the Arafat sermon translation project. The project aims to convey Islam's message of tolerance to a global audience in their native languages, fostering better communication between Muslims and non-Muslims. It also underscores the Kingdom's pivotal role in serving the Two Holy Mosques and its unwavering commitment to supporting pilgrims worldwide. The project aims to provide real-time translation of the Arafat sermon in more than 34 languages, making it one of the largest initiatives of the Hajj season. A key feature of the project is the integration of Quick Response (QR) codes, which offer easy access to both textual and audio translations. This allows pilgrims to listen to the sermon in their respective languages, regardless of their location, whether within the holy sites or beyond. To expand the reach and amplify the impact of the service, QR codes have been displayed on screens in key facilities, buses, and pilgrim accommodations. Additionally, the service has been promoted through various government media platforms and shared with international media in coordination with the Ministry of Media.

Over 3,300 tons of Zamzam water consumed at Prophet's Mosque in just 15 days
Saudi Gazette report MADINAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Prophet's Mosque has stepped up its operations and service offerings to accommodate the rising number of worshippers in Madinah during the 1446 Hajj season, focusing on Zamzam water distribution, hygiene, and hospitality. In coordination with the Haram Authority, significant quantities of Zamzam water bottles and containers were made available throughout the Prophet's Mosque, including on the rooftop and at chilled drinking stations across the courtyards. Services were maintained around the clock to meet the needs of pilgrims and worshippers. From the 15th of Dhul-Qi'dah to the first of Dhul-Hijjah, the Authority reported the distribution of 218,336 bottles of Zamzam water to worshippers in both the men's and women's sections of the mosque. During the same period, the total Zamzam water consumption reached 3,360 tons, with over 14 million plastic cups used to facilitate water access. In addition, 301,802 Iftar meals were served to fasting visitors, distributed in designated areas inside the mosque, as part of the Authority's seasonal hospitality ensure a clean and safe environment, 52,625 liters of disinfectants and sanitizers were used in cleaning and sterilizing the mosque's interior and part of efforts to enhance the spiritual atmosphere, 7 kilograms of premium incense were used to scent the mosque and Rawdah areas before each prayer, including at entrances and corridors.

Ehsan Platform opens online Adahi requests for Hajj 2025
Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — The Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work is now accepting requests for sacrificial animals (Adahi) for the Hajj season of 2025. The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, in collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Project for Utilization of Hady and Adahi (Adahi), initiated this digital service, which facilitates the performance of the prescribed Islamic ritual of sacrificing animal. Pilgrims and individuals offering sacrifices can securely authorize the Ehsan platform for the ritual's execution within the Islamic time frame. The platform ensures efficient distribution to eligible beneficiaries. To request the service, users can log in to the platform, access "Our Programs," select the Adahi program, specify the type and quantity of sacrifice, and authorize the platform. Real-time tracking of requests is available. The program offers various options, including Hady and Adahi during Hajj, Fidyah (expiation), Aqiqah (animal sacrifice that is offered on behalf of the newborn), and general Sadaqah (charity) throughout the year. This Adahi project streamlines the digital fulfillment of rituals for pilgrims and donors, allowing them to submit requests for sacrifices and charities and authorize the Ehsan platform for timely delivery to those in need.
