Pacers beat Knicks to move one win shy of reaching NBA Finals
Tyrese Haliburton delivered his second career playoff triple double to power Indiana over New York 130-121 on Tuesday, lifting the Pacers one win from the NBA Finals.
Haliburton scored 32 points, passed off 15 assists and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds while making no turnovers over 38 minutes becoming the first player in NBA playoff history with 30-15-10 and no turnovers.
Indiana, who blew a 20-point lead in a game-three home loss, seized a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference finals with the home triumph.
'I was just trying to be aggressive, trying to respond,' Haliburton said.
'I felt like I let the team down in game three so it was important to come out here and just make plays.
'Guys put me in position to make plays and play my game and man, it's a big win for us.'
Game five is set for Thursday in New York's Madison Square Garden.
'I'm excited about it. It's going to be a lot of fun,' Haliburton said.
'It's a tough environment to play in. We've got to be ready. Just one more game, take what we can from this and be ready for game five.'
The East winner will face either Oklahoma City or Minnesota in the NBA Finals starting June 5.
Haliburton's father was in the arena after a month-long ban following an on-court incident with Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo earlier in the playoffs.
'Hell yeah. I'm glad pop is in the building,' Haliburton said. 'It makes it that much more sweet. Had a little bit to do with it.'

Saudis in ‘difficult' talks to keep Ronaldo next season: PIF source
Saudi officials are in 'difficult' talks to keep Cristiano Ronaldo in the country, a source with knowledge of the negotiations said yesterday, after the star footballer suggested he was leaving Al Nassr. The Portuguese superstar, whose arrival in 2023 heralded a rush of late-career players to the oil-rich country, could transfer to Al Hilal and feature at the upcoming Club World Club, the source said. 'There is an ongoing difficult negotiation to convince Ronaldo to stay and play' in the Saudi Pro League next season, said the source from the Public Investment Fund (PIF), a major investor in Saudi football. 'First option is a transfer to Al Hilal with an opportunity to feature in the FIFA Club World Cup or to Asia champion Al Ahli,' the source added. The oil-funded PIF, the sovereign wealth fund behind a number of big-ticket Saudi investments, controls a group of Pro League clubs including Al Nassr, Al Hilal and Al Ahli. Ronaldo posted 'This chapter is over' hours after the Saudi Pro League wrapped up this week with Al Nassr finishing third and trophyless once again. A special transfer window opens from June 1-10 to allow the 32 teams involved in the newly expanded Club World Cup to sign players. Last week, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said 'there are discussions' over the former United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Sporting Lisbon star playing at the tournament in the United States from June 14. Portuguese forward Ronaldo, 40, joined Al Nassr in early 2023 from Manchester United and his contract expires at the end of next month. 'Ronaldo's presence is a key factor in developing the Saudi league in the last two years and a half. He opens the door for elite and young players to come to Saudi Arabia,' the PIF source said. Chet Holmgren added 22 points and Jalen Williams netted 19 for the Thunder, whose average age of 25.6 years makes them the youngest team in the NBA Finals since Portland in 1977. 'We have 17 dudes on the roster who will bring it every single game whether it's a closeout game or not,' Holmgren said. 'It's a step in the journey. We still have a season to play (in the Finals) so we're not done.'

More misery for Messi and Miami with Florida derby defeat
AFP | Miami Lionel Messi's frustration grew as Inter Miami's miserable run continued with a 3-0 loss at home to Orlando City in Major League Soccer on Sunday. The Florida derby defeat leaves Miami with one win from their last seven games in all competitions and they slip to sixth in the Eastern Conference with Orlando leapfrogging them. Messi had just two shots on target and scuffed a free-kick as his own form slumped with that of his team. 'Now we'll truly see if we're a team in difficult times, because when everything's going well it's very easy,' Messi told Apple TV. 'When difficult times come, that's when we have to be more united than ever, be a true team, and pull ourselves together,' he added. Messi questioned the refereeing but in truth the loss had little to do with officiating and much to do with shambolic defending, a disjointed midfield and punchless attack led by the rapidly fading Luis Suarez. Orlando grabbed the lead in the 43rd minute with a goal of absurd simplicity. Goalkeeper Pedro Gallese launched the ball down field and Luis Muriel ran clear and slotted past Oscar Ustari. The visitors were getting plenty of joy from going direct against a Miami back-line which was all at sea and Argentine Martin Ojeda should have done better when he found himself clear on goal but blasted over. Coaches 'failing' team Miami's veteran keeper Ustari made a fine double save but then the 38-year-old found himself to blame for Orlando's second goal. The ball fell to Marco Pasalic on the edge of the box and his low shot went through the hands and legs of Ustari. Miami coach Javier Mascherano threw on attacking players in a bid to retrieve something from the game but it was in vain. In the fourth minute of stoppage time Duncan McGuire broke down the left and his low cross was slotted home by Icelandic forward Dagur Thorhallsson to wrap up an impressive performance from the visitors.
