Ghost Announce New Album SKELETÁ, Unveil Single 'Satanized': Stream
The post Ghost Announce New Album SKELETÁ, Unveil Single 'Satanized': Stream appeared first on Consequence.
Ghost have announced their highly anticipated new album, SKELETÁ, arriving April 25th via Loma Vista Recordings. The video for lead single 'Satanized' can be streamed below.
Despite its sinister title, the new song is quite graceful and sees Ghost fully embracing their melodic-AOR side. Shades of Styx and Def Leppard are present on the prog-tinged rocker, which is drenched in a blanket reverb effect that's straight out of the 1980s.

Meanwhile, the accompanying music video introduces Ghost's 'new' frontman and the latest iteration of band mastermind Tobias Forge, Papa V Perpetua, whose arrival was previously teased when Ghost were announced as part of Black Sabbath's upcoming final concert. Along with the clip, the band also launched an interactive element dubbed 'The Satanizer,' in which fans can upload a photo that will morph them into characters featured in the video.
As for the new album, SKELETÁ is self-described as Ghost's 'sixth psalm,' opening a new chapter in the band's expansive, fictional lore. It will mark a shift to more personal lyrical content, away from the 'outward facing subject matter' of previous albums Impera and Prequelle. Instead, the LP will 'render the distinct individual emotional vistas of each of its 10 songs in one-on-one fashion, at times as if in a dialogue with oneself in a mirror,' as stated in the band's press release.
SKELETÁ is set to drop just over a week after Ghost embark on their previously announced world tour, which includes a summer run of US arenas. That leg kicks off July 9th in Baltimore, and you can get tickets here.
Pre-orders/pre-saves for SKELETÁ are available via this location, while the video for 'Satanized' and the album artwork and tracklist can be seen below. Tobias Forge will appear on the popular Morbid podcast this Friday (March 7th) for an exclusive interview about the new album.

Whoopi Goldberg calls out 'The View' cohosts over 'fake' Donald Trump vs. Elon Musk feud: 'Y'all bought into it'
Whoopi Goldberg told her View cohosts that they "bought into" a "fake" feud between Donald Trump, Elon Musk. "It's not fake," former Trump associate Alyssa Farah Griffin said. "You're giving him too much credit." Trump and Musk sparred on social media over political View's Whoopi Goldberg doesn't trust Donald Trump — even when he's feuding with his 2024 presidential election ally Elon Musk. On Monday's live show, the Oscar-winning Ghost actress held firm in her belief that Trump's recent headline-making clash with Musk — the billionaire who helped Trump win the race against Vice President Kamala Harris — isn't real. "In this fight, my money is on Donald Trump, though, because he clapped back and said he'll go after Elon's Pentagon contracts," former Trump associate and current conservative View cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin said during a Hot Topics discussion about the feud, which prompted Goldberg to push back against her. "I love that y'all bought into it," the 69-year-old said. Griffin countered, looking toward Goldberg as she stressed, "It's not fake," with the actress hitting back when she repeated, "I do believe it's fake. Yes, I do. It's too strategic." The Republican panelist said she felt that Goldberg was "giving him too much credit" in assuming that he'd concocted his feud with Musk — an assertion Goldberg staunchly opposed. "No, no, no. I just feel like, oh, suddenly everybody's upset about stuff. I'm sorry, no," Goldberg replied. "This is another distraction to keep us talking — not about the stuff we're talking about, but the stuff they want us to. I'm not buying it. I'm not buying it because they lie." She finished, "I don't believe anything they say anymore because they've shown themselves not to be the most trustworthy people you want." Late last week, Trump and Musk sparred over the former's proposed "big beautiful bill," with Musk taking issue over the proposed bill's impact on the federal deficit. In response, Musk claimed that Trump's administration withheld information indicating that Trump was mentioned in records related to child sex offender Jeffrey a subsequent interview with Theo Von, Vice President JD Vance responded to the claim, saying, "Donald Trump didn't do anything wrong with Jeffrey Epstein." When reached for comment on Goldberg's assessment and Musk's claim that Trump was associated with Epstein, the White House press team provided Entertainment Weekly with an unrelated statement from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. The statement indicated that Trump "will continue the important mission of cutting waste, fraud, and abuse from our federal government," though it did not answer EW's inquiries directly. EW has additionally reached out to representatives for Musk for comment. The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Sir Bob Geldof brands Elon Musk a 'sociopathic loser' in blistering tirade against UK and US leaders
Sir Bob Geldof delivered a fiery address at London's Shaftesbury Theatre on Wednesday evening, branding Elon Musk a 'sociopathic loser' and condemning political leaders in the UK and US for what he described as a betrayal of the world's 'most vulnerable'. The outspoken campaigner appeared on stage following a performance of Just For One Day, the musical inspired by the 1985 Live Aid concerts he co-founded. The show donates 10 per cent of all proceeds to the Band Aid Charitable Trust and has already raised nearly £900,000 since its sold-out Old Vic run and start of its West End run. Lauding the cast for their contribution, Sir Bob praised the musical for turning entertainment into impact: 'They've already built hospitals and schools and stuff like that by doing their job tonight.' But his tone quickly turned blistering as he criticised Musk over comments the billionaire made during a February podcast, claiming he was combating what he referred to as 'civilisational suicidal empathy.' At the time, the Tesla founder was heading up DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, to drastically shrink the size of government by aiming to cut $1 trillion or more in government spending, ultimately cutting thousands of Federal jobs. 'A couple of weeks ago, that prime w**ker Elon Musk said the great weakness of Western civilisation is empathy,' Sir Bob said in response to Musk's empathy remark. 'The great weakness? You ketamine-crazed fool. You sociopathic loser. 'Empathy is the glue of civilisation. Empathy is the glue of humanity,' he added. 'It's how we do things together, how we sit here together and clap because we actually understand that this is the stuff that works.' He went on to accuse US officials of misleading the public over the consequences of recent cuts to foreign aid, claiming at least 300,000 people have died as a result. 'The strongest nation in the world, the most powerful man on earth and the richest person ever in the history of the planet decided to declare war on the poorest, the weakest, the most vulnerable people on the planet' he said. 'I despise them.' The 73-year-old then branded Musk, Donald Trump, J.D. Vance and US Secretary of State Mark Rubio 'liars'. 'When they say they're sending food to the starving children of Sudan who are being held captive and starved to death, when they say they are helping gang-raped women who are broken and their panicked children, that's a lie,' he claimed. 'They are not so it's down to us lot and you lot to get scrape a million quid.' Closer to home, Geldof didn't spare the Labour leadership either. He criticised Keir Starmer and Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves for cuts to international aid during a period of domestic hardship while also calling Vlamdir Putin a 'thug'. 'Times are really tough in this country, we need to get more money - 'But really? Really? We're going to stop helping the people you've just clapped for to make a few bucks'. We need to be helped, we need to have the NHS, we need to rearm because there's a thug currently invading our continent, but really? All that intellect, that's all you can do.' 'Snatch it from those people?' he continued. 'No it can't work like that. It doesn't have to work like that and it began not working like that in 1985 and we took it all the way 20 years later to Live 8 and that really tipped the balance in favour of those we want to help. 'This is Great Britain, this country can do anything.'

Live updates: House set to vote on DOGE-inspired cuts to foreign aid, PBS, NPR
The House is set to vote Thursday on a package of funding cuts inspired by the U.S. DOGE Service that until recently was overseen by Elon Musk. The clawbacks, totaling $9.4 billion, take aim at foreign aid and funding for PBS and NPR, among other things. It could be the first in a series of so-called recession packages. At the White House, President Donald Trump is expected to sign a measure Thursday that blocks California's first-in-the-nation rule banning the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035. He is also scheduled to sign executive orders and host a congressional picnic. Elon Musk is out of Washington, but House Republicans could make his legacy law. The House is scheduled to vote Thursday on a package of federal funding cuts inspired by the U.S. DOGE Service's slashing of the federal government. Those cuts include an effective elimination of U.S. foreign aid and funding for PBS and NPR. The total cost of the clawbacks is $9.4 billion. President Donald Trump ousted the leadership of the Kennedy Center and installed his own loyalists. He has said he wants to remake its show offerings and renovate its building. And on Wednesday night, he came to hear the people sing. Trump arrived in a box to watch one of his favorite musicals, in the venue that he has long avoided but is now trying to embrace after taking control. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) said the Trump administration has excluded him and his family from a congressional picnic at the White House in what he believes to be an act of retribution, politicizing an annual celebration of bipartisanship over Paul's refusal to support the president's signature legislation. HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, widely considered a possible Democratic contender for the presidency, vowed Wednesday to protect the right of protesters if President Donald Trump sends troops into Philadelphia as he has done with the National Guard and Marines in Los Angeles, and to work with local law enforcement to keep the city safe.
