Adidas has issued an update following a data breach that resulted in customer details being stolen. The incident occurred several weeks ago, with Adidas making an initial statement to let people know on May 23.
At the time, the group revealed that an "unauthorised external party" had accessed some customer data via a third-party customer service provider. According to Adidas, the compromised information primarily consisted of contact details for people who had contacted the company's customer service desk.
Company executives also stated they would be reaching out to those whose details may have been compromised. When asked for an update on the situation, Adidas responded: "We are in the process of informing potentially affected customers.
"Adidas has taken immediate action, including further enhancing security measures and collaborating closely with leading information security experts." This cyber incident came after a significant cyber attack on M&S over the Easter weekend, the repercussions of which continue to disrupt services.
For several weeks, M&S customers were unable to place orders online or in-store. Shop bosses only recently reinstated the ability to order clothing and footwear online in England, Scotland, and Wales.

The retailer said previously that some personal data was compromised, including names, addresses, and order histories. No payment card details or passwords were accessed.
One customer who subscribes to the Spark's reward scheme inquired on social media yesterday (June 12), asking when the birthday treat service would be running again. M&S responded saying: "We're working hard to resume normal Sparks services. Once Sparks is back up and running we'll be in touch about your Delivery Pass.
"Also, customers who are eligible for a Birthday Treat in June will receive this at a later date once the system is fully restored. Thank you for your patience and continued support, we are incredibly grateful."

The birthday treat is M&S' way of celebrating its customers' birthdays, offering them a free item which could include clothing, a beauty product, or something delectable from the food and drink section.
Customers who want to sign up for the birthday bonus can do so by adding their date of birth on their Sparks account. You can do this online or through the M&S app.

"Grand total of £12 for £150 worth of toys! Slide was £10 and the other two were £1 each," she wrote on the same Facebook group. If you're looking to turn your garden into a fun-filled play area for your kids, B&M has you covered with more incredible offers. The discount store is flogging a huge inflatable slide for just £10. A shopper shared the deal on the same Facebook page and wrote: "Yesterday's find at B&M." Attached to the post was a picture of a Gigantic Garden Slide, originally priced at £50. A sale sticker had been placed on the box, to say it had been reduced to £30, however, when the shopper got to the till, it had been reduced to just £10. The bargain buy is six feet long when inflated and promises "slip'n, slide'n fun". It is suitable for children over three and includes a battery-operated pump. B&M said: "Unleash the fun in the sun with this epic giant inflatable slide! "Watch as the kids' smiles reach new heights - It's the ultimate entertainment for endless summer fun." Shoppers raced to the comments section of the Facebook posts to tag their friends and share the bargain with them. One shopper pointed out that the slide is from last year's stock, so may not be available to buy in your local.
