Besides its rumored all glass design, the iPhone 20 is in line to support amazing AI capabilities
The other day, we told you that rumors call for Apple to celebrate 20 years of iPhone by releasing an all-glass iPhone 20 Pro model in 2027 with an invisible bezel, and no charging or data transfer port. Face ID and the FaceTime cameras will be moved under the display. If all goes according to plan, the iPhone 20 will be quite the looker, setting the standards for iPhone models over the following five to ten years.
But looks aren't everything, and a fresh report sends us into the weekend thinking about how Apple plans on using an advanced AI memory technology for its 20th anniversary smartphone. According to ETNews, the iPhone 20 will use Mobile High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) which works by stacking multiple DRAM dies vertically. These are connected by vertical interconnects called Through-Silicon Vias (TSVs) which lead to improvements in the transmission speeds of the signals. The faster speeds deliver improved performance compared to older and more conventional technology.
Because HBMs allow RAM dies to be smaller, the technology can help with the development of thinner iPhone models or variants of the iPhone with larger battery cells to generate longer battery life. Additionally, connecting mobile HBM to the GPU for the iPhone 20 Pro models could allow large language models (LLM) to run on-device without consuming too much battery life or raising the phone's latency.
The tech giant's suppliers of memory components, Samsung and SK Hynix, are already developing their own versions of the technology, and both will undergo mass production starting next year. Samsung will be using a packaging method called Vertical Cu-post Stack (VCS), while SK Hynix is using a method called Vertical Wire Fan-Out (VFO). The only downside to using this technology is its cost, as it is expensive and could give Apple a reason to jack up prices in 2027 besides the expected new glass slab design.
While Apple's initial AI initiative, Apple Intelligence, has been mostly criticized for being not as useful compared to what Google and Samsung have offered to date, the truth is that we are in the very early stages of AI on smartphones so the use of HBM on the iPhone 20 could kick off a huge wave of new AI-powered capabilities that we can't even guess at during this time.

We did the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra review, and the Razr 2025 review is underway. Now it's time to welcome the third and final member of the series - the Razr+ 2025, which is exclusive to North America and doesn't have a global version unlike its siblings. Motorola Razr+ 2025 This one sits in the middle of the pack, below the Ultra, above the vanilla. Indeed, it packs some superior specs to the regular Razr 2025 in most categories. The SoC is a more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with more RAM (12GB vs 8GB). It lacks an ultrawide but offers a 50MP 2x zoom instead. Both displays are better - the inner one has 165Hz refresh rate, while the cover screen is larger at 4 inches vs 3.6 inches. Where the Razr+ 2025 is below its counterparts is in the battery capacity - it's 4,000mAh vs the 4,500mAh on the vanilla and 4,700mAh on the Ultra. Our Razr+ 2025 features the Mocha Mousse paint job. There're also Hot Pink, Peach Fuzz, Spring Green, and Midnight Blue versions. There's a single 12/256GB config to choose from, and it ships with a USB-C cable. The Razr+ 2025 is $799 at the time of this article - down from $999. We've said it time and time again, but Motorola is truly in a league of its own when it comes to phone colors. The Razr+ 2025 looks unique. It feels great too, with a very grippy leather-like finish on the back panel. The hinge is perfectly weighed - not too firm, but it's not soft and vague. Top marks on hardware! Motorola Razr+ 2025 in Mocha Mousse There's also something to be said of Motorola's take on Android. Some of us would go as far as calling it the best Android skin there is, thanks to pixel-perfect scaling throughout the OS, and lovely visuals. On the other hand we need to mention a gripe we have with the Razr+ 2025. Its display came in a Neutral color profile by default, and it's lifeless - very desaturated and dull. Not a big issue, though - you can put the screen in a Vivid mode to rectify this. Interestingly, the Razr 2025 came in Vivid by default. Our review is underway so stay tuned!

Honor Magic V5 could debut with striking new color as Galaxy Z Fold 7 rivalry heats up

According to a tipster on Weibo, the device is rumored to come in four color variants: Velvet Black, Snow White, Tundra Green, and a brand-new Silk Gold finish. While color alone won't determine a phone's success, it can help a product stand out in a competitive market, especially as more brands start offering similar foldable designs. The Honor Magic V5 is rumored to skip the "V4" name and jump directly to V5. According to early reports, the device could be one of the thinnest foldables yet, with a folded thickness of under 9mm. If accurate, this would make it slightly slimmer than the latest Oppo Find N5, which measures 8.93mm when folded. The Magic V3 already offered a 5150mAh battery with 66W fast charging and solid wireless charging support, so this year's model could improve on that without sacrificing slimness. The timing of the Magic V5's release puts it right up against the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is also expected to be revealed in July. Samsung's next foldable is rumored to bring modest design changes and upgraded internals, but so far, there have been no major leaks pointing to bold new colors or significant changes in appearance. That's where the Silk Gold color on the Magic V5 might give Honor a visual edge, even if just for initial impressions. While Samsung continues to lead the global foldables market, Honor has been quietly gaining ground, especially in the ultra-thin segment. Whether the Magic V5 can compete on performance remains to be seen, but a slimmer design, larger battery, and refreshed styling suggest Honor is aiming to push its foldable series forward in both form and function. June Pixel Drop lands with Pixel VIPs, AI photo magic, and Gboard glow-up
The June Pixel Drop is now here for Pixels and brings quite a lot of new features and updates, including Pixel VIPs, custom stickers in Gboard, and advanced accessibility features. Also, Android 16 is now starting to roll out as well. Here's what the June Pixel Drop is bringing to your Pixel!There's a new Pixel VIPs widget from the Contacts app, tailored to help you give priority to the most important people in your life, like friends and family. The more details you add about your favorite people (like birthdays, emails, home addresses, and preferences), the fuller the Pixel VIPs experience will be. You can view your last call and message (including WhatsApp ones) with each VIP, see their location when shared, and even get reminders for important events like their birthday. The feature is available on Pixel 6 and newer, and supports Google Messages and WhatsApp services. Using Pixel Studio and generative AI, you can get any sticker you want right away. As usual with AI, you'll have to type your prompt, choose an emotion, and then you can send it, without having to switch apps. What's even better is you can make stickers from photos as well: the background of the image will be automatically removed and the object becomes your sticker. The feature is available for Pixel 9 phones in select countries and currently supports English, Japanese, and German only. Google is also making some cool Pixel features available to more users. One of them is Satellite SOS, which is now available in Australia. Satellite SOS allows you to connect with emergency services in areas where there's no cellular connectivity or Wi-Fi availability. Satellite SOS is supported on phones from the Pixel 9 series. The service is currently available in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, and now Australia. Meanwhile, the Recorder app gains the ability to offer you AI-generated summaries of recordings in French and German. Right now, the Pixel 9 series can get summaries in English, Japanese, German, and French, while for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9a, the feature is available in English only. Photography enthusiasts also have what to be excited about with the June Pixel Drop. There's a new education hub that will help you take advantage of all the features in Pixel Camera. You can now tap the question mark icon in the upper right-hand corner of Pixel's Camera and then see visual inspiration for each mode. Also, the app will now offer you how-to instructions to achieve the best effect. With this update, you can now use live search in the Magnifier app (Pixel 5 and newer, without the foldables) which will help you learn more about your surroundings, without the need to take a photo. Basically, you can type what you're looking for (item on a menu, for example) and Magnifier will highlight matches on the screen in real-time. Also, when your Pixel finds something, it will give you a little haptic feedback. It's now available in more countries beyond the U.S., including Canada, the UK, and Australia. You'll be able to get AI-powered suggestions to enhance your images and access recommended tools based on what you select to edit.
