Motorola Razr+ 2025 in for review

GSM Arena10-06-2025
We did the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra review, and the Razr 2025 review is underway. Now it's time to welcome the third and final member of the series - the Razr+ 2025, which is exclusive to North America and doesn't have a global version unlike its siblings. Motorola Razr+ 2025
This one sits in the middle of the pack, below the Ultra, above the vanilla. Indeed, it packs some superior specs to the regular Razr 2025 in most categories. The SoC is a more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with more RAM (12GB vs 8GB). It lacks an ultrawide but offers a 50MP 2x zoom instead.
Both displays are better - the inner one has 165Hz refresh rate, while the cover screen is larger at 4 inches vs 3.6 inches.
Where the Razr+ 2025 is below its counterparts is in the battery capacity - it's 4,000mAh vs the 4,500mAh on the vanilla and 4,700mAh on the Ultra.
Our Razr+ 2025 features the Mocha Mousse paint job. There're also Hot Pink, Peach Fuzz, Spring Green, and Midnight Blue versions. There's a single 12/256GB config to choose from, and it ships with a USB-C cable. The Razr+ 2025 is $799 at the time of this article - down from $999.
We've said it time and time again, but Motorola is truly in a league of its own when it comes to phone colors. The Razr+ 2025 looks unique. It feels great too, with a very grippy leather-like finish on the back panel.
The hinge is perfectly weighed - not too firm, but it's not soft and vague. Top marks on hardware!

There's also something to be said of Motorola's take on Android. Some of us would go as far as calling it the best Android skin there is, thanks to pixel-perfect scaling throughout the OS, and lovely visuals.
On the other hand we need to mention a gripe we have with the Razr+ 2025. Its display came in a Neutral color profile by default, and it's lifeless - very desaturated and dull. Not a big issue, though - you can put the screen in a Vivid mode to rectify this.
Interestingly, the Razr 2025 came in Vivid by default.
Our review is underway so stay tuned!

Apple reportedly making an OLED MacBook Pro that could be its first big laptop upgrade in years

Referential image of the M4 MacBook Pro. | Image credit — Apple Apple is rumored to be planning one of the biggest updates to its MacBook Pro lineup in over a decade. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports in today's edition of his "Power On" newsletter that the company is preparing to launch a redesigned MacBook Pro with OLED displays in late 2026 or early 2027. This would be the first time Apple has used OLED in its laptops, replacing the Mini-LED technology currently found in its high-end models. OLED screens bring deeper blacks, higher contrast, more vibrant colors, and potentially better battery life. Samsung Display is expected to supply the panels, thanks to its next-generation manufacturing process that can produce OLED at the scale and quality Apple requires. A new design is also expected, possibly with slimmer bezels, a lighter build, and changes to the camera cutout that could replace the current notch. An OLED MacBook would make it easier to work outdoors in the sunlight. | Image credit — Apple Gurman points out that many MacBook Pro owners still use their M1 or M2 models because performance hasn't been an issue. Apple's custom chips are fast and efficient, so most users haven't seen a strong reason to buy the latest versions. By introducing OLED along with a physical redesign, Apple could give customers a visible and practical reason to upgrade. Other laptop makers such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo have offered OLED options for years, but they often come with trade-offs in price, battery life, or availability. If Apple can deliver OLED without sacrificing battery performance or build quality, it could gain an edge in a market where MacBooks already have a strong reputation. From a user perspective, an OLED MacBook Pro would be a notable shift. It wouldn't just be about speed or efficiency — it would change how the laptop looks and feels day-to-day. A redesigned chassis paired with a sharper, more dynamic display could make the MacBook Pro feel new again, something that hasn't happened since the M1 Pro and M1 Max models launched in 2021. Still, OLED has its drawbacks. The technology can be more prone to burn-in over time, and power consumption can vary depending on the content being displayed. If Apple can address those issues, this MacBook Pro could become one of the most significant upgrades in recent memory. I just hope it will be priced reasonably.

Apple's brain drain woes unlikely to end anytime soon unless it starts making employees millionaires

There has been a massive problem plaguing Apple for a while now: its AI researchers keep getting scooped up by Meta. According to industry insider Mark Gurman's newsletter Power On, this brain drain from Apple is very unlikely to end anytime soon, unless the company pays its employees what Meta is CEO Mark Zuckerberg is convinced of two things: AR glasses are the future, and AI will be the backbone of said glasses. As such, Meta has invested billions of Dollars into XR ( Extended Reality ) over the last few years, and is now doing the same for Artificial Intelligence. It's Apple that is suffering, as now a fifth AI researcher has left the company to join Meta's Superintelligence Labs group. Naturally, this also puts the already underdeveloped Apple Intelligence at even greater risk. Zuckerberg has been offering mouthwatering amounts of money to AI researchers. According to Gurman, the low morale at Apple has meant that many have been grateful for the offer. Further departures from Apple aren't just likely, but almost expected at this everyone is willing to work for Meta, however. Recently, Meta offered a billion Dollars to one researcher, but they declined the offer. Their colleagues, who were offered up to $500 million each, all also turned Meta down. The workers cited problems with Meta's leadership for their Apple's continued failings with the new Siri have meant that the company's employees haven't been picky about who offers them a better deal. The revamped Siri marketed in 2024 is nowhere to be found. | Image credit — Apple Still, this hasn't stopped Apple from trying its best to ensure that a better version of Siri makes it to its user base sooner rather than later. The company has been quietly working on improvements for its App Intents framework, which means that certain Siri features are closer to launch than you might think. As for Mark Zuckerberg's aforementioned fascination with AI-powered AR smart glasses, Apple is also taking a keen interest in a pair of glasses of its own. Samsung and Google, with their Project Moohan running on Android XR, are also ultimately aiming for smart AR glasses to replace the smartphone.

Deals: Moto Razr 50 Ultra price slashed, whole Realme GT 7 series discounted

Peter, 10 August 2025 New models launch to a lot of fanfare, but then they gradually fade from the public consciousness. Let's have a look among the old and older phones to see if there are any good deals to be had. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is last year's model, but it's last year's flagship. Because of its age, it has a massive 45% discount at the moment. This means that it costs a lot less than you would pay for a Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, for example. However, this one packs a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, 6.9' LTPO inside and 4.0' LTPO outside displays, plus a 4,000mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. The phone is rated IPX8 (i.e. water resistant, but no protection against particles) and is slated for 3 OS updates. A few months ago, it received its first (Android 15). That means the phone will end up on v17 eventually and it will have an extra year of security patches after that. It has been a while since we've paid attention to the GT 7 series from Realme. The flagship Realme GT 7 Pro is now down to €700 and that's a pretty good price for a Snapdragon 8 Elite phone with a 6.78' LTPO display and a large 6,500mAh Si/C battery (120W wired charging). It has a 50MP main camera (1/1.56'), 50MP 3x/73mm telephoto (1/1.95') and 8MP ultra-wide. The phone launched with Android 15 and will receive 3 major OS updates, plus an extra year of security patches. Realme GT 7 Pro €300 off Read our review 12/256GB - €700 at Amazon DE The Realme GT 7 is €100 less. It switches to a less performant Dimensity 9400e chipset, but a lot of the hardware is the same or similar to the Pro. For example, it has the same IP69 rating and the 6.78' LTPO display is similar enough. It has a telephoto camera, but it's a 50MP unit with a shorter 2x lens and a smaller 1/2.76' sensor. On the plus side, the battery is bigger at 7,000mAh while still supporting 120W charging. Realme GT 7 €150 off Read our review 12/256GB - €600 at Amazon DE The Realme GT 7T is the cheapest of the trio. This one features a Dimensity 8400, which is not as powerful as the 9400e, but stays quite close considering the price difference. The 6.8' OLED display is not an LTPO panel and the telephoto camera is gone. But the 7,000mAh battery with 120W charging is still on board. The Poco X7 Pro is also powered by the Dimensity 8400 (Ultra vs. Max, but it's basically the same silicon). The 6.67' display is smaller and less bright (3,200 nits vs. 6,000 nits), but it's a 12-bit panel (both support Dolby Vision). The 6,000mAh battery is also smaller and supports 90W charging. Note that the upgrade from 8/256GB to 12/512GB is only €20, which makes it a no-brainer. And it means that this model is €250 cheaper than a 12/512GB GT 7T. The vivo V50e focuses on selfie photos and videos. It is equipped with a 50MP front-facing camera with an autofocus f/2.0 lens – its 1/2.76' sensor is capable of recording 4K video. The rear camera also has a 50MP sensor (1/1.95') and an 8MP ultra-wide module, plus a ring light. The V50e is powered by the Dimensity 7300, has a 6.7' 10-bit OLED display (120Hz) and a 5,600mAh battery with 90W charging. It's rated IP68/IP69 for resistance against submersion and water jets. vivo V50e €130 off 8/256GB - €340 at Amazon DE The Realme P3 is an affordable phone that runs very recent silicon – the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 was announced this February. This was the first 6-series chip to be fabbed on a 4nm TSMC node. Anyway, you can get plenty of RAM and storage for cheap – 12/512GB for €50 less than the X7 Pro – and there is a microSD slot for more. The P3 has 6.67' 1080p+ OLED display and a 6,000mAh battery with 45W charging. It's rated IP68/IP69. Realme P3 €100 off 8/256GB - €200 at Amazon DE 12/512GB - €250 at Amazon DE The Motorola Moto G35 looks classier than its €115 price tag would suggest. The 6.72' IPS LCD runs at 120Hz and has 1080p+ resolution – 720p+ displays aren't rare in this price class. The G35 has stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack, plus it comes with a free pair of Moto Buds if you want to listen to music without wires. There's a free case included in the package too. The performance of the Unisoc T760 is entry-level, especially in a 4/128GB configuration (but note that there is a microSD slot). Still, the phone with the case and buds make for a good 'kid's first phone' combo.
