Grammy-nominated singer cancels his entire tour over poor ticket sales as he confesses he 'aimed too high'

JP Saxe has been forced to cancel his entire tour over poor ticket sales as he confessed he 'aimed too high'.
The singer, 32, was nominated for a Grammy in 2021 for hit song If The World Was Ending, which he sang alongside his ex-girlfriend Julia Michaels.
But now, he has explained that he is struggling to venues that sit just 2,000 people and needed to sell 20,000 tickets to stop his tour from being cancelled.
Sharing updates to social media, he confessed he felt embarrassed but had been forced to cancel his American The Make Yourself At Home tour.
The tour was planned to run for 32 dates across America, starting in September and running through to the end of October.
He said: 'I'm extremely embarrassed to tell you this, but I'm going to tell you anyway. If I don't sell 20 or so thousand tickets to my tour in the next 48 hours, it's going to be cancelled.

'If we're just not in a place yet to sell out these 2,000-, 3,000-cap venues – that's fine. It's always been my goal to connect deeply, not widely, and I stand by that.
'But just in case you were waiting till the week of or night of to buy a ticket – that approach just isn't going to work, because there won't be a show to buy a ticket to.
'So whether that happens or not, I'm grateful to you for caring about my songs, and I hold on to a sliver of hope that I will see you in the fall.'
After his clip explaining the crucial situation, he confirmed that, despite an influx in sales, it wasn't enough to keep his tour afloat.
Thanking fans for selling a few thousand extra tickets, a follow-up video saw him tell fans: 'I am beyond grateful to every one of you who bought one.
'Those few thousand tickets are a reminder that being transparent in failure sometimes can be more powerful than the façade of success – a reminder of how wonderful it can be to ask for help and watch a community come together.
'This really was the nicest the internet has ever been to me.'
Tickets are believed to be refunded to the original buyer, with Saxe saying they will 'come with a small side of immense gratitude from a dorky ginger Canadian'.
She went on: 'The industry standard in this situation is to offer some ego-saving explanation – ''wrong timing'', ''new opportunities,'' ''a scheduling conflict,'' ''illness,'' ''global warming…''
'What you're not supposed to say is: ''Hey, I guess people aren't really f**king with me right now.'' I aimed too high – my bad.'
Musicians Julia and JP Saxe opted to end their relationship in September 2022. after three years of dating, multiple sources confirmed to People.
Julia and JP's relationship was born from their collaboration on the 2019 ballad If The World Was Ending.
Although they co-wrote the track, it was credited to Saxe, with Michaels listed as the featured artist.
The song reached number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, and ultimately sold more than three million units in the US.
The song's success continued with the pair earned a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year, which is specifically awarded to songwriters, rather than the performing artists, though Michaels and Saxe did double duty on the track.
The singer–songwriters launched their relationship shortly after collaborating on the song, and they were driven closer to each other while quarantining together at the start of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
But break-up rumours had been swirling since earlier this month, when they shared duelling social media posts that appeared to reveal break-up songs in the works.

Philosophy of the World review – an anarchic ode to ‘the world's worst band'

If fringe favourites Sh!t Theatre had a military wing, it would look like In Bed With My Brother. The company's three members Nora Alexander, Dora Lynn and Kat Cory walk the line between entertainment and assault, revelling in their own messiness and being thrillingly awkward. They make punk theatre: funny, relentless and furious. And if In Bed With My Brother had a role model, it would be the Shaggs. Dubbed the best worst band of all time, the New Hampshire trio were drilled by an authoritarian father who kept them in isolation to perfect a sound that was gloriously imperfect. They were mocked by audiences and even the sound engineers hired to record their 1969 album, Philosophy of the World. In a different universe, this show would be a jukebox musical. It is anything but. Alexander, Lynn and Cory kind of tell the story of the Shaggs (in captions accompanied by a pummelling soundtrack by Brain Rays and Quiet) but their greater purpose is to celebrate the band for ploughing such a singular furrow. They see in these sisters an inspirational failure to conform – whether by accident or design. Their purpose is also to rail against patriarchal forces. Austin Wiggin, father of Dorothy (vocals), Betty (guitar) and Rachel (bass), is an obvious target: a small-town svengali who, believing his children would bring him fame, forced them to rehearse and perform. Their target is also a patriarchal system that meant only with the endorsement of men such as Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain could the Shaggs be rehabilitated. The three actors, in cave woman wigs and often not much else, are furious with the lot of them, their rage channelled against guest performer Nigel Barrett, variously playing a stage manager, Austin and Austin's ghost, and suffering a sustained attack for his trouble. It is unkept, unseemly and chaotic. And that is exactly the point. At Summerhall, Edinburgh, until 25 August All our Edinburgh festival reviews

The Hunting Wives fans think they've spotted a glaring error in the Netflix series

Fans of the hit Netflix series The Hunting Wives think they caught a mistake in the premiere episode. One TikTok user highlighted a scene in which actress Brittany Snow 's character, Sophie O'Neil, opens her kitchen freezer, revealing a Kraft Mac & Cheese product inside. 'Of all the things that shocked me about The Hunting Wives, this is the part that really had me shook,' the viewer wrote across the snippet. She added in the caption, 'Why do I always notice weird things in shows?' The clip zoomed in on the inside of the freezer, confusing fans who are primarily familiar with the food brand's pasta offerings. 'I've been WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO BRING THIS UP,' one person wrote in the comments section of Shandy's post. Someone else quipped about Evan Jonigkeit's character: 'It was definitely Graham, add that to the list of reasons we don't like him.' Another fan came to the conclusion, 'There is not reasonable explanation which makes this hilarious.' But a more knowledgable consumer shared an explanation for the puzzling display. 'Those are mac n cheese frozen meals, friend,' they shared. And a different social media user said knowingly, 'Any time a brand or logo is shown in a movie, it is a product placement. So many people are talking about this so they did their job.' The Hunting Wives is adapted from a bestselling book, and the sex-fueled show has struck a chord with audiences since its July 21 premiere. The eight-part series is based on author May Cobb's erotic thriller of the same name and adapted by Rebecca Cutler, who said she was in 'awe of its flagrant horniness.' It doesn't shy away from full-frontal nudity, no-holds-barred sex, and steamy make-out sessions that have earned it comparisons to Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives. Viewers are introduced to its protagonist Sophie as she relocates to deep-red Texas from Boston with her husband Graham. She finds herself embroiled in the lives of a mysterious and exclusive group of gun-toting MAGA women dubbed The Hunting Wives. Among them is Margo (Malin Åckerman), who lures Sophie into their world of sex, scandal, and salacious gossip. Margo and her husband, Texas governor hopeful Jed (Dermot Mulroney), have an open relationship that gives the high-flying socialite freedom to have flings with younger men, such as the barely-legal Brad (George Ferrier) and also women like her friend Callie (Jaime Ray Newman).
