A Hollywood agent stole $1.8 million from struggling actors on shows such as 'Law & Order' — claiming some of their checks were late because of 'earthquakes' while enjoying spa treatments at the Four Seasons, Manhattan officials said on April 22.
Mark Measures, the disgraced former owner of KMR Talent, bilked 160 actors out of the hunk of dough in addition to stealing from six employees who worked at his agency, according to a 40-count indictment unsealed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Harvey Weinstein case judge denies mistrial bid after juror says he's bullied in deliberations
NEW YORK — A Manhattan judge in Harvey Weinstein's rape and sexual assault retrial denied his motion for a mistrial Friday after a juror said he was being bullied and berated by other members of the panel. Jurors ended the day without a verdict and are scheduled back in Manhattan Supreme Court Monday morning. Weinstein's lawyers said the treatment of the juror was enough to shut down the six-week trial, but the judge urged the members to keep on deliberating. Just before a lunch break on the second day of deliberations, a 25-year old juror asked Judge Curtis Farber if he could be dismissed from the highly watched trial because he believed the process was not 'fair and just.' The juror told Farber that he was being shunned for having opposing views from other members of the jury. The juror also said he heard other jurors discussing the case on the elevator and outside the courthouse. He described the tension with jurors as 'playground stuff.' 'Is someone being bullied? Is someone being made fun of? Is someone being threatened?' Weinstein lawyer Arthur Aidala said in court. 'There is some degree of taint going on.' Aidala praised the juror for having the 'courage' to come forward. But Farber said that the discussions the juror described did not rise to the level of misconduct, but were typical, heated deliberations by a jury. 'It may be that his youth makes him particularly uncomfortable,' Farber said. The fallen movie mogul and Miramax studio co-founder is accused of raping aspiring actress Jessica Mann in 2013 and assaulting two other women in 2002 and 2006. More than 80 women, including actresses Mira Sorvino and Ashley Judd, have accused Weinstein of sexual assault, harassment or other misconduct. He faces up to 25 years in prison for two counts of criminal sexual acts and up to four years for one count of rape. A Manhattan jury convicted Weinstein, 73, of rape and sexual assault charges in 2020 at the height of the #MeToo movement. But a state appeals court threw out the conviction in 2024, citing errors by the trial judge. Weinstein is already serving a 16-year prison sentence after a California jury found him guilty of rape in December 2022. Weinstein has denied all the charges against him. He has said any sexual encounters have been consensual. 'I have regrets that I put my family through this, that I put my wife through this, and I acted immorally,' Weinstein said in a telephone interview with FOX 5's 'Good Day New York' on Friday. 'I put so many friends through this and hurt people that were close to me by actions that were stupid, you know what I mean? But never illegal, never criminal, never anything.' _____

'Playground' drama threatened to tank Harvey Weinstein's sex crimes retrial on Friday — when one juror asked off the case after claiming childish antics had made deliberations 'unfair and unjust.' He described the chaotic scene behind closed doors as 'playground stuff,' with some on the panel of seven women and five men ignoring fellow jurors as they weighed the charges against Weinstein. 'There's a bit of shunning happening,' the young man said — before pleading for Judge Curtis Farber to dismiss him from the case. One of the 12 jurors was excused on Thursday after complaining of illness, and replaced with an alternate. Weinstein, 73, sat in his wheelchair and stared ahead without any visible reaction during the judge's questioning of the juror. When the court reconvened after the lunch break, Weinstein's attorney, Arthur Aidala, asked for a mistrial claiming that the judge should have questioned the juror further and asked more in-depth queries to get to the bottom of the elevator beef and the drama inside the jury room. 'He looked at me right in the eyes and said, 'What's going on in there is not fair and unjust!'' Aidala railed. The panelists, so far during their deliberations, have asked for readbacks of testimony from two victims about the alleged sexual attacks. Weinstein's attorneys claim that the former Miramax boss is the 'poster boy' of cancel culture and that his relationships with the alleged victims were 'transactional,' consensual sexual encounters. Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Nicole Blumberg said during closing arguments that Weinstein — accused of sexual conduct by more than 80 women — wielded his 'power and influence' to rape the three accusers. AP Weinstein, who maintains his innocence, was originally found guilty at trial in 2020 of criminal sex act and rape and given a 23-year prison sentence — but New York's highest court tossed the conviction last year. If convicted at the retrial, Weinstein would face up to 25 years in prison on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act, and four years in prison on third-degree rape. The Hollywood creep was separately convicted in California of raping an Italian model at a film festival in 2013, where he is currently serving a 16-year prison term. He has appealed that conviction.
