Gino D'Acampo 'to move to Australia' after ITV axe and misconduct allegations

Daily Mirror10-07-2025
Gino D'Acampo is reportedly relocating part-time to Australia following ITV's decision to cut ties with him after multiple allegations of inappropriate behaviour
TV chef Gino D'Acampo is reportedly planning a major career move to Australia, five months after ITV cut ties with him following serious misconduct allegations. The famed TV chef, 48, is reportedly preparing to launch several new ventures Down Under, including two restaurants, a cookware range, and a tech platform, as he steps away from the UK spotlight.
Though he will maintain a base in the UK, D'Acampo is expected to spend most of the next two years in Australia, according to reports. His representative hinted at the big move as they said: 'He loves Australia a lot - the people, culture, cleanliness and environment.'

The decision comes after a turbulent year for the former This Morning regular. Earlier this year, ITV News conducted an investigation into 'unacceptable', 'distressing' and 'horrendous' behaviour by D'Acampo, some of which allegedly dates back over a decade.

Last year, it was revealed that he had been placed on a language and behaviour course by ITV bosses. There were also claims ITV failed to act on repeated complaints, including incidents involving inappropriate comments made to This Morning host Holly Willoughby in 2018.
D'Acampo was later sidelined from Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip after refusing to sign a morality clause. However, he has consistently denied all allegations made against him.

A source close to the star told The Sun: 'Gino has had a fantastic career over here - and still has an incredibly loyal fanbase. But it's been made clear to him that TV opportunities over here are few and far between in the wake of recent allegations, and that's frustrating.
'While Gino has always denied any wrongdoing, he's a pragmatist and knows it's time for new adventures. He's been inundated with offers Down Under following a really successful tour there."

D'Acampo, who won I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in the Australian jungle in 2009, reportedly fell in love with the country during his 2019 Aussie Escapes tour and is now exploring properties in Melbourne.
'He spent some time in Australia a few years ago, and loved it,' the source added. 'He still has a large social media following and plans to capitalise on that in the next stage of his career.'
His wife Jessica and their three children are reportedly expected to remain in the UK for now, though 'if all goes well, Australia is a full-time option".
The move follows the collapse of his restaurant business, which went into administration with debts of £7.3 million. He has since listed his £4.2 million Hertfordshire home for sale and is understood to have already bought another property in the UK.
The Mirror has approached Gino's representatives for comment on this story.

'I've worked with Lorraine for three decades this is what she's like off-screen'

Dr Hilary Jones has worked with Lorraine Kelly on ITV for over 35 years, and has shared what the Scottish presenter is really like behind the scenes after they both released books ITV's Dr Hilary Jones has opened up about his long-standing colleague Lorraine Kelly, sharing insights into their 35-year working relationship and the Scottish presenter's character. ‌ The health expert, who is celebrating the release of his third novel Under Darkening Skies, spoke candidly about their mutual appreciation for each other's written work and gave a glimpse into what it's like to work with Lorraine off-air. ‌ In an exclusive conversation with he disclosed: "Oh, she's lovely. Lorraine - people often say, 'What is Lorraine really like?' and I say she's exactly as she comes across. ‌ "She's engaging, she's interested in people, she's genuine, and she's great fun. I've worked with her for over 35 years, and she's written her books as well, so we've read each other's books." It's not just Lorraine who Dr Hilary has praised as he commented: "Of course, people like Shaun Wallace-I've come across on The Chase-a lovely guy-very well read. I read his book as well." ‌ Under Darkening Skies will hit the shelves on July 31st, as reported by the Express. These revelations from Dr Hilary emerge amidst ITV's announcement of significant scheduling changes, including alterations to the broadcast frequency of Lorraine's show. Starting from 2026, Lorraine will air for only 30 weeks per year, a change that will also affect Loose Women. ‌ Lorraine's airtime is set to be halved, with Good Morning Britain extending by an extra half-hour ending at 9:30am. In the new schedule, on days without Lorraine, GMB will broadcast from 6am until 10am. ‌ Kevin Lygo, director of ITV's media and entertainment division, shared his thoughts on the changes: "Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres. "These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever. "I recognise that our plans will have an impact on staff off-screen in our Daytime production teams, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN as they manage these changes to produce the shows differently from next year, and support them through this transition. "Daytime has been a core element of ITV's schedule for over 40 years and these changes will set ITV up to continue to bring viewers award-winning news, views and discussion as we enter our eighth decade."

Corrie star Jack P. Shepherd beams as he arrives in a red Mustang ready to tie the knot with fiancée Hanni Treweek at Manchester Cathedral as he's joined by his fellow soap stars

Jack P. Shepherd arrived in style to his Manchester wedding as he prepares to marry his stunning partner Hanni Treweek on Saturday. The Coronation Street actor and his partner Hanni will be surrounded by friends, family and colleagues as they tie the knot at Manchester Cathedral. Jack, who has played the iconic David Platt on the ITV show since 2000, cut a dapper figure in a white suit as he arrived in a red mustang with his mum and his son. Lucy Fallon, who plays David's niece Bethany Platt, turned heads in a plunging yellow gown, teamed with gold strappy heels. Jack, who won Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, previously revealed he took part in the show in order to pay for the wedding. It comes after Hanni got wedding ready during a girls' day out at The Ivy restaurant for her hen party earlier this month. Hanni, who was a colleague of Jack's as a storyline writer and researcher on Corrie, looked stunning in a high-neck white lace mini-dress as she danced the night away to live music. It came after she enjoyed lunch and cocktails at The Ivy, where she posed for snaps with her pals and drank from a giant 'Bride' straw - with her hens all wearing Jack masks. Taking to her Instagram Story on Sunday, Hanni also revealed that she and Jack had been at a lesson for their first dance, as she shared a mirror selfie of the pair in a studio captioned: 'Hungover but dancing through as Mrs Shepherd to be .' She captioned her hen party snaps: 'The non hen party party, two weeks before the wedding. 25 years of a special friendship with these beautiful girlies, how lucky are we. 'I love you all so much, thank you for throwing me a non hen party party it was perfect. The next time I see you I'll be walking down the aisle.' Back in June, Hanni shared a sweet post about her husband-to-be as they celebrated a year since getting engaged. Hanni shared a sweet tribute to her husband as she counted down the days to the nuptials. Sharing a collection of throwback snaps from their trip to the Serengeti where he asked her to be his wife, Hanni wrote: '365 days of being your Fiancée. 51 days until we become Husband & Wife. 'Looking back at the most special memories with you, Tanzania will always hold a special place in my heart ⛺️❤️ Happy one year anniversary. What a magical year it's been ✨.' Resharing the post on his Instagram Story, Jack wrote: 'Happy one year anniversary @hannitreweek. I'm so lucky to call you my future wife.' At the time, the couple posed for loved-up snaps in their safari getups to announce the happy news on social media. Flashing her sparkling engagement ring, Hannah beamed for the camera before kissing her new fiancé. Captioning the snaps, she gushed: '05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!' Jack and Hanni have been dating since 2017, after meeting on the soap when she worked in the press office. She later became a storyliner on the ITV show, before quitting to work as a fashion influencer. Despite being colleagues, their romance actually began when Jack impressed Hanni at a mutual friend's wedding. Speaking to OK! Magazine in 2020, Jack recalled: 'Then our mutual friends got married and we were both guests at the wedding. Hanni posed for snaps with her pals for snaps at The Ivy, with her hens all wearing Jack masks 'We got chatting, I made Hanni laugh, we had a couple of drinks and we flirted. That was it.' The duo then later bumped into each other once again in a Sainsbury's, which led to an exchange of texts and a blossoming romance. He told The Daily Star: 'I texted her afterwards and said 'that was awkward' and she told me she thought she looked a mess and then we started texting from there. 'I actually thought she looked fit – I just saw the girl I fancy wearing Lycra! We quickly went on our first date and we just clicked.'
