HBX Group launches flexible financing for travel businesses

HBX Group partners with YouLend to launch Cash Advance, offering flexible, performance-based financing for small and medium travel and hospitality businesses.
LONDON – HBX Group, a leading independent B2B travel technology marketplace, is partnering with global embedded financing platform YouLend, to offer its partners and clients access to Cash Advance, a new financing solution aimed at helping small and medium-sized businesses in the travel and hospitality sectors manage cash flow and unlock growth opportunities.
Designed specifically for the needs of travel agencies, independent hotels, and similar businesses, Cash Advance offers funding based on business performance rather than credit scores or collateral. The application process is simple and fully digital, and approved funds can be accessed in as little as 48 hours.
Repayments are made as a percentage of monthly sales, allowing businesses to contribute more during high seasons and less during quieter periods—without the burden of fixed payments amounts each month.
'We want our partners to have the flexibility and support they need to run their businesses with confidence,' said Daniel Nordholm, Chief Product and New Business Officer at HBX Group. 'By working with YouLend, we offer a practical solution that reflects the rhythm of the travel industry and the challenges our clients face.
'At HBX Group, we're committed to providing more than just travel distribution – we're building a suite of tools and services that help our partners grow sustainably, operate more smoothly, and navigate the demands of a changing market.'
Through Cash Advance tool, HBX Group's clients and partners can explore funding options, simulate different repayment scenarios, review terms in detail, and complete their application through a single, easy-to-use platform. The experience is designed to be transparent from start to finish, with no hidden fees or complex conditions.
Cash Advance is now available for HBX Group clients in Spain, the UK, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands, with a rollout to more markets planned for later this year.

The Eastside Rooms makes Wellness Room permanent

The Eastside Rooms makes its wellness room permanent, reinforcing DEI values and supporting neurodivergent delegates with inclusive, calming event environments. Following its successful debut at the 2025 ABPCO Festival of Learning, The Eastside Rooms' wellness room – originally introduced as a temporary feature for the event – will become a permanent fixture at the venue. This decision underscores The Eastside Rooms' growing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and is a direct result of insights gained from recent industry-wide conversations around neurodiversity. The inspiration for the wellness room emerged from a session on neurodiversity at the ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter Conference, later explored further in the venue's own 'Eventful Encounters' podcast. The panel, featuring voices from across the sector, emphasised how essential it is to design event environments that are genuinely inclusive of neurodivergent delegates. For The Eastside Rooms, this sparked immediate action. The wellness room is designed to be a calm, tech-free space that offers: No phones or laptops allowed – creating a true mental break Bean bags and relaxed seating Cards and colouring books to engage the mind gently Noise-cancelling headphones for sensory relief Soft background music for a tranquil atmosphere 'The response from delegates at the ABPCO Festival was overwhelmingly positive,' said Leanne Bladen, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Eastside Rooms. 'It reinforced what we already knew: creating spaces that promote wellbeing isn't just a nice-to-have, it's essential.' The wellness room is just one example of The Eastside Rooms' holistic approach to DEI. As a Disability Confident Employer, the venue already champions inclusive recruitment practices, family-friendly policies, and partnerships with organisations such as Halesowen College to provide opportunities for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Over 200 individuals from underrepresented backgrounds have entered the hospitality sector through its partnerships with initiatives like Springboard. Building on the themes raised in the neurodiversity podcast, the venue has also created a suite of video guides to help delegates navigate the journey to and from the venue. These travel route videos offer visual and auditory cues to ease anxiety and improve accessibility, especially for neurodivergent guests. 'Inclusivity runs deeper than ramps and accessible toilets,' added Leanne. 'It's about the entire delegate journey. From how people arrive to how they unwind, we want every single guest to feel respected, understood, and supported.' With more than 76,000 delegates welcomed in 2024 and a 37.5% increase in association event turnover, The Eastside Rooms is proving that purpose-driven innovation drives real results. As the venue prepares to host events for organisations such as the Women's Engineering Society and the British Society for Intraoperative Neurophysiology, it continues to lead by example in championing DEI across the events industry.

Shannon Airport welcomes Ryanair's 4th based aircraft

Ryanair adds fourth aircraft at Shannon for Winter 2025/26, launching three new routes and boosting traffic by 20%, supporting 1,500+ local jobs. The Shannon Airport Group has welcomed Ryanair's announcement of the addition of a fourth based aircraft, three exciting new routes to Lapland, Madeira and Madrid, in addition to extra flights on six existing popular routes – Alicante, Edinburgh, Kraków, Lanzarote, Manchester, and Wrocław at Shannon Airport for Winter '25/'26. The announcement delivers 20% traffic growth, over 1.6m Ryanair passengers p.a. and offers customers in the Mid-West even more choice at Europe's lowest fares whilst also supporting over 1,500 local jobs. Welcoming the announcement, Mary Considine, CEO, The Shannon Airport Group said: 'We're delighted to welcome Ryanair's further expansion at Shannon Airport with the addition of a fourth based aircraft seeing three exciting new Winter '25 services from Shannon Airport to Madrid, Rovaniemi (Lapland), and Madeira, and increased frequencies on six existing routes. This expansion offers even greater choice for our passengers and strengthens Shannon's position as a key gateway to and from the West of Ireland. Ryanair's investment is a powerful endorsement of the potential of Shannon, a vote of confidence in the market here, and a testament to the progress we've made growing passenger numbers. We're very ambitious for the airport and the Group. We see a huge potential for growth and believe there is a real opportunity for Shannon Airport to lead the way in rebalancing the national landscape. A new aviation policy that recognises and supports the strategic importance of Shannon Airport to the country's economy is now required.' Ryanair's CCO, Jason McGuinness said: 'We are delighted to celebrate another milestone for our Shannon base this Winter as the Airport welcomes a 4th Ryanair based aircraft. This new 'Gamechanger' aircraft will deliver 100,000 (+20%) additional passengers and 3 new routes to Lapland, Madeira, and Madrid. In addition to these exciting new routes, Ryanair will also add extra flights on 6 popular Shannon routes – Alicante, Edinburgh, Kraków, Lanzarote, Manchester, and Wrocław. Ryanair's US$400m investment in the mid-west underpins our commitment to growing Ireland's regional airports evidenced by the 20 routes and more than 1.6m passengers we will deliver to Shannon Airport this year – driving inbound tourism to the region and supporting year-round international connectivity. Ryanair wants to continue to prioritise Shannon, Knock and Kerry for growth, however, the Irish Govt. needs to support these regional airports by expanding the scope of the Regional Airports Programme 2026-30 to at least 3m passenger p.a., which would allow regional airports to grow traffic without being penalised for doing so.' To celebrate Ryanair's fourth aircraft and 3 new routes at Shannon this Winter, the airline has launched a 2-day seat sale available only at Ryanair, Europe and Ireland's No.1 airline, Shannon Winter 25/26 schedule will deliver: 1 new 'Gamechanger' aircraft (4 aircraft in total) US$400m investment in Shannon 100,000 additional passengers (+20%) 20 routes, incl. new Lapland, Madeira & Madrid Increased freq. on 6 routes – Alicante, Edinburgh, Kraków, Lanzarote, Manchester & Wrocław Over 1,500 local jobs, incl. 350 highly paid pilot, cabin crew and engineer jobs Shannon traffic grows to over 1.6m passengers p.a.
