Raging Hearts demand SFA answers over Cammy Devlin red card and claim blundering VAR officials have cost them all season
Hearts have demanded an explanation from the SFA over John Beaton's Hampden display in their Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.
And the capital club have also raised what they see as a lack of balance over the season in terms of VAR errors for and against them, based on the results of the KMI Review Panel.
The Jambos were reduced to ten man just before half-time at Hampden when Michael Steinwender was sent packing for wiping out Topi Keskinen.
But it was Beaton 's call to book Devlin twice that Hearts are taking issue with. The Aussie's first yellow card came for a late challenge on Shayden Morris, which occurred during a delayed offside call against the Aberdeen winger.
Devlin was then shown a second yellow with just four minutes of extra-time remaining, catching Dante Polvara in an attempt to clear a bouncing ball.
Jimmy Thelin's side took advantage of their two extra men just two minutes later as sub Oday Dabbagh struck late to book a cup final date with Celtic on May 24.
Now Tynecastle chiefs are seeking dialogue with the beaks to air theirs and their fans' grievances over Beaton and other calls during the campaign.
The full statement read: "Now that the dust has settled on Saturday's Scottish Cup semi-final, everyone at Heart of Midlothian Football Club would like to say thank you to our supporters.
"Your backing is never taken for granted, particularly when it has been a challenging, and ultimately disappointing, season. To have nearly 22,000 Jambos inside Hampden Park was an incredible feat, and your support undoubtedly inspired the team on the pitch to battle until the very end, where, against all odds, it looked as if the players had earned the opportunity to take the match to penalty kicks, and deservedly so.
"While we give credit to Aberdeen for making the most of their opportunity in the 118 th minute to win the tie, we take issue with the refereeing decision immediately preceding it. It is the club's view that neither yellow card issued to Cammy Devlin in the match was warranted and we should not have been put in the position of having to finish the game with nine men, which directly affected the outcome.
"Saturday came on the back of other decisions this season that have also not gone in our favour. It is often quoted that errors generally balance themselves out across a season.
"However, a cursory glance at the KMI Review Panel published reports show that we have benefitted once from errors in our favour – the joint second lowest in the Premiership – and have suffered four errors against – the joint second highest in the Premiership. Public silence on our part should not be mistaken for inaction.
"Throughout the season we have maintained dialogue with the Scottish FA on these matters, and while we always prefer to air our grievances in private, on this occasion, given the magnitude of the occasion that was a Scottish Cup semi-final and what was at stake, we believe that the club and, most importantly, its supporters deserve better.
"Once again, we will engage with the Scottish FA in an attempt to understand why these decisions are made, see acknowledgement as to when they are indeed wrong and determine what can be done to learn from them to ensure that they are not repeated.
"When circumstances are under our control we will do our best to act appropriately. The club has recently publicly declared that this season has not been good enough and it is our intention not to see it repeated.
"When circumstances are outwith our control, such as refereeing decisions, then our supporters should know that be it publicly or privately, we will always challenge for the benefit of the club and its fans, because as owners, they deserve to have their voices heard.
"Again, we thank our supporters for their unrivalled backing, not just on Saturday but across the entire season, and we look forward to welcoming them back to Tynecastle Park this weekend as we all strive to finish this campaign as strongly as possible."

WATCH: Aberdeen squad for FCSB Europa League play-off assessed - who could be OUT if two new signings added before Wednesday night deadline?
With Aberdeen's squad for their two-legged Europa League play-off with FCSB revealed, our sports journalists Ryan Cryle and Paul Third sat down to assess it. We discuss who is in, why certain players missed out and which changes Jimmy Thelin could make before Wednesday's wildcard deadline. The Dons' squad for their tie against Romanian champions FCSB – which kicks off at Pittodrie on Thursday night – was published on the Uefa website late on Tuesday. Only 17 non-Scots were allowed to be included under the rules, and due to the international make-up of Thelin's Reds squad, this meant some players had to be cut for the play-off matches. Centre-backs Kristers Tobers and Slobodan Rubezic, striker Peter Ambrose, and summer signings Emmanuel Gyamfi, Kenan Bilalovic and Marko Lazetic are all absent from the squad list. Paul and Ryan discuss the different reasons those players are missing – including injuries, potential departures and red tape. Our sports writers also analyse whether one or two players could be added to the squad before Wednesday night's final 11pm deadline, and who in turn would then be likely to be removed.

Aberdeen's squad for FCSB Europa League play-off tie revealed - with three signings missing
Three summer signings, including new striker Marko Lazetic, are not currently in Aberdeen's squad for the Europa League play-off tie with Romanian champions FCSB. Ahead of Thursday's Pittodrie first leg, with the return set for Bucharest's Arena Nationala next week, and following Friday's 11pm registration deadline, the Dons' squad has now been published on the Uefa website. Serbian Lazetic, 21, whose arrival from AC Milan on a four-year deal was only confirmed on Monday, is not among the 17 (the maximum) overseas players named in the Reds' Euro squad, as he is still awaiting a work permit. While Aberdeen can make two changes to their squad for the play-off tie with FCSB up until 11pm the day before the first leg, it remains to be seen if Lazetic will be added – as he is still awaiting a work permit, and after Dons boss Jimmy Thelin said the club would 'be patient' with their new forward. Also absent from the squad is last week's signing Kenan Bilalovic, the left-winger, 20, brought in from Sweden's Varnamo, as he was also waiting for his work permit. Left-back summer signing, Emmanuel Gyamfi, meanwhile, misses out, having been ruled out since his arrival from Schalke with a leg injury. Long-term injury also sees Latvia captain, centre-back Kristers Tobers, miss out. Nigerian striker Peter Ambrose – expected to depart the club before the window closes – is not among the Reds included in the squad, while it is the same story with Montenegro international centre-half Slobodan Rubezic, whose exit from the club is expected imminently. Aberdeen and FCSB will battle for a spot in the Europa League league phase, with the losers of the play-off tie heading for the Conference League. The Press and Journal revealed on Monday how 700 FCSB are expected to be at Pittodrie on Thursday evening, including 300 away supporters travelling from Romania. A spokesperson for the Peluza Nord ultras group said they will be more noisy than the home Dons fans, with the Reds in for a 'tough' time against their team.

Aberdeen transfer latest: Why Marko Lazetic has swapped AC Milan for Aberdeen
Marko Lazetic is determined to repay the faith shown in him by Aberdeen after completing his move to Pittodrie. The Serbia under-21 international has left AC Milan to move to the Dons on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The Dons have been on the trail of Lazetic since January, and the striker insists the club's desire to bring him to Scotland sold him on Jimmy Thelin's side. Lazetic said: 'It feels amazing to finally be here. It was a long process where I was waiting for things to happen, but I'm finally here, happy to be here and ready to get to work. 'The first interest was in January and I liked the project they had then, but it didn't happen due to the other club I was at. 'But then the summer came and they called again saying they wanted to get me. I saw the desire, so I wanted to be here as soon as possible. 'We had a hard time getting the deal agreed, but I wanted to be here. 'I spoke to Nuno (de Almeida), the head of recruitment, then the manager and (director of football) Steven (Gunn), and felt the same energy about everything – I loved the way they talked about me and did the analysis on me. 'It's a place I feel I can grow a lot. 'It's important to be wanted at a place where you are going and be accepted from the moment you come here.' Lazetic, who began his career at Red Star Belgrade, moved to Italy in 2022 in a £3.5million transfer. Since being at Milan he has had loan spells in the Netherlands with Fortuna Sittard, Austrian Bundesliga club Rheindorf Altach and last season back in his homeland with TSC Backa Topola. The forward, who is awaiting his UK visa so that he can make his debut for the club, believes the Dons will give him the platform to be a success in Scotland – and on the European stage. The 21 year-old told RedTV: 'The Scottish league is a great league where I think I can excel. 'European football is a great opportunity as well. I played last year on loan with TSC in the Conference League and hopefully this year I can make the step up and fight for the Europa League. 'It's a great opportunity and experience for a young player to play in that. 'I never like to talk about myself and what kind of player I am. People can see for themselves. 'But I will bring a lot of physicality and fight, and hopefully goals and trophies. 'I will try to help the team in the best way possible. My job as a striker is to score goals and try to win trophies here. 'I'm really excited. I love the fans, the intensity and the craziness about it. I can't wait to get out and play at Pittodrie.' Dons boss Thelin is thrilled to finally have Lazetic on board after a move for the player failed to materialise in the January window. The Aberdeen manager is confident his new recruit, the ninth of the summer window, will be a success, but will need time to adapt to his new surroundings. Thelin said: 'We've been monitoring Marko for a while and are very pleased to have secured his signature. 'He has a fantastic pedigree and, despite his young age, has played at high level in different leagues across Europe. 'We will have to be realistic in our expectations with Marko as it will take him a bit of time to get up to match sharpness and integrate into our way of working. 'His pre-season has been a little frustrating due to the uncertainty surrounding his future, but he's shown great patience and now he's finally arrived we're delighted to get down to the hard work with him to get him up to speed. 'We believe he will be an excellent addition to our squad. 'He has an imposing physical presence; good technical ability and he will provide versatility and competition for places ahead of a busy season. 'We believe we can unlock some of the undoubted raw materials that he has to make him a potent threat for Aberdeen.'
