'He was with his girlfriend, or lady partner, whatever the Musk orbit calls their non-committal fluid breeding vessel contenders these days […] He got his ass beat so bad, some are calling it reparations,' she said, adding, 'I'm not, of course. I would never do that. But what I don't understand is why you didn't just let them take the car?' The incident is believed to have sparked Trump's desire to deploy National Guard troops on the streets of the capital as part of a crackdown on crime. In February, St. Clair went public with the explosive allegation that Musk was the father of her child. The billionaire and vocal pro-natalist who has offered to father anyone's child now has 14 children. Then, a month later, his ex, Grimes, asked for pictures of their four-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, or Lil X, not to be posted online after Elon Musk paraded him around the Oval Office. The pair also shares children, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Tau Techno Mechanicus. Strider, Azure, Arcadia, and Seldon Lycurgus are shared with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, and six of his children are shared with Justine Wilson, who was his wife for eight years between 2000 and 2008. St. Claire also alleged the billionaire had offered her a one-time payment of $15 million, plus $100,000 a month until her child turns 21, in exchange for her silence. She rejected the offer. 'I don't want my son to feel like he's a secret,' St. Clair reportedly told Musk's fixer Jared Birchall, who runs Musk's family office. Musk previously maintained that he does not know 'for sure' whether St. Clair's child is his, but the 'Probability of Paternity was 99.9999%,' according to a lab report seen by the Wall Street Journal. In April, the Tesla CEO said he had given 'Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500k/year.' His post came in response to a video of St. Clair selling her Tesla while saying Elon Musk had cut off her 'son's child support.'

Finnish MP ‘takes own life' in Helsinki parliament
A Finnish MP has died inside the national parliament, the country's prime minister has said. Following reports that a politician had taken their own life, Petteri Orpo confirmed that the body of a member of his National Coalition parliamentary group had been found on the premises without naming the MP. 'Some time ago, we received truly shocking news from parliament, our common workplace,' he said. 'One of our colleagues has passed away on parliament premises. This is truly sad news.' He added that political discussions would be suspended in mourning for the MP's death. 'At the same time, we wish strength to his family, loved ones and colleagues. This deeply touches all of us, we send greetings and strength to everyone,' he said. The Finnish parliament is on summer recess, with MPs due to return to work on Sept 2. According to Finnish media, the MP's body was found at about 11am local time. There was a large police presence inside the building on Tuesday afternoon. Finnish media outlets are refraining from identifying the MP until their next of kin have been notified. In front of the parliament building, Finnish flags were lowered to half-mast. Päivi Räsänen, a Finnish MP, said it was 'shocking, heartbreaking news about the loss of a colleague', adding: 'I assume that the sad news will be conveyed to the family before the person is publicly announced. I deeply share the great sorrow of the family and remember them with prayers.' She told the Ilta Sanomat newspaper: 'I believe that this will mark the beginning of autumn in parliament. Despite the political tensions, it is a close-knit working community.' Ms Räsänen said a memorial service will be held at the beginning of the session, adding: 'There will be tears.'

Newsmax to pay $67m to Dominion to settle US election defamation lawsuit
The conservative outlet Newsmax has agreed to pay $67m to Dominion Voting Systems to settle a defamation lawsuit over lies about voting in the 2020 election. The settlement came as the case was headed to trial. Earlier this year, Delaware superior court judge Eric Davis ruled that Newsmax had defamed the voting technology company by broadcasting false claims about its equipment after the 2020 election. A jury would have considered whether Newsmax was liable for damages. Dominion had sued the outlet for $1.6bn. After the 2020 election, lies about the security of Dominion voting machines, which are widely used in the US, became central to Donald Trump's false claim that the election was stolen from him. Allies and other rightwing personalities made baseless claims that votes had been flipped and that the equipment was not secure. 'We are pleased to have settled this matter,' Dominion said in a statement to CNN.
