Two-month A6033 road closure due to collapsed culverts
Worth Valley councillor Rebecca Poulsen said two of the broken culverts were on the Bradford Council side and one was on the Calderdale Council side of the road.Repairs were originally planned to take four months but the road is now set to reopen on 18 July, with the remaining work undertaken using temporary traffic lights. The closure will begin at Keepers Lodge with a diversion in place and the A3 bus will terminate in Oxenhope.While the closure is in place, Bradford Council will carry out other work on the A6033 including wall repairs.

Several shops at Dundee Overgate forced to stay shut after flooding
Several shops at the Overgate in Dundee have been forced to stay shut due to flooding. Customers were evacuated as staff used mops and vacuum cleaners to clear water from the ground floor on Thursday. The centre reopened on Friday, however, several stores remain closed. As of midday, Claire's, DV8, JD Sports, River Island, Ernest Jones, The Perfume Shop, Bodyzone, Pandora, Holland & Barrett, Rituals, Regatta and Barrhead Travel were all shut. The Flying Tiger was also closed, but may be able to open later on Friday, according to staff. Lush was also partially open with a checkout at the front door to sell some items. A message at the entrance to Schuh said: 'Sorry due to the flooding yesterday we are currently not open. 'Our cleaners are due to arrive at 12 hoping for the store to be open for 2pm.' The McManus art gallery and museum has also been closed on Friday due to the 'extreme weather'. Meanwhile, the Chest Heart & Stroke charity shop on Reform Street has also been closed 'due to flooding in the store'. Speaking on Friday, a worker in a shop at the Overgate told The Courier how 'ankle-deep' water flooded their store without warning. They said: 'At around 3.50pm, we were just about to close when water started spraying out of the toilet. 'It was ankle-deep, and the back of the store was under water. 'Our counters don't move, so it's not been ideal for cleaning up. 'There was raw sewage all over the floor. 'We've had flooding before, but this is the worst I've ever seen.' A worker in another shop said: 'I was in the office when I heard a loud noise, and I thought it was a trolley. 'Water was bubbling out of the toilets and sinks. 'It was coming in from both sides because we are on a slope from the doors. 'It's from a Victorian drainage system, so it's not the Overgate's fault. 'Stock has been ruined, and all of the carpets will need to be replaced.' A spokesperson for the centre said: 'Overgate is open as normal today, however, as a result of yesterday's flash flood, a number of retailers on the ground level will not be open at 9am, and some may have extended trading disruption. 'Should you be planning to visit specific stores on the ground level, we advise you to contact the store (directly). 'The upper mall is unaffected and trading as normal. 'Thank you for your patience and understanding.' A post from Barrhead Travel on Facebook said: 'Due to major flooding that occurred yesterday afternoon, our shop will be closed today for safety and repairs. 'If you require urgent assistance, please contact one of our other store locations. 'Our team there will be happy to assist with any queries.'
