BCCI Organises Special Fast Bowling Camp For Emerging Pacers At Centre Of Excellence
As part of the camp, 22 fast bowlers – 14 targeted pacers and eight from the Under-19 group – went through an intensive program covering multiple aspects of fast bowling, skill and fitness wise.

In the video, Harshit Rana and Anshul Kamboj, who made his Test debut on the tour of England, were seen going through the paces of various activities in the camp. Also present in the camp were Simarjeet Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Suryansh Shedge, Gurjapneet Singh and Yudhvir Singh Charak.
Interestingly, Suyash Sharma and Shreyas Iyer were also spotted, indicating that they were also a part of routine fitness testing at the CoE. It is also believed that Vijaykumar Vyshak, Khaleel Ahmed, Yash Thakur, and Raj Bawa were a part of the fast bowling camp at the CoE.
From a larger perspective, the hope will be that the extensive fast bowling camp gets the Indian team more frontline fast-bowling options to support the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami in any international cricket series or tournament in future.

Top Indian archers to compete in inaugural Archery Premier League
India's top archers, including Deepika Kumari, Dhiraj Bommadevara, Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Abhishek Verma, will compete in the inaugural Archery Premier League (APL), the national federation said on Monday. As reported by PTI earlier, the six franchise-based competition, billed as a first-of-its-kind global initiative, will bring together leading recurve and compound archers from across the world for an 11-day event in October at the Yamuna Sports Complex in New Delhi. Apart from the Indian archers, the inaugural APL, which has got the backing from World Archery and the Asian federation, will also see participation from the top-ranked international archers, who will be divided among the six franchises, but their names are yet to be announced. The inaugural season is likely to follow a draft system instead of an auction, with each squad comprising eight members—four men and four women. Teams can include up to two foreign archers, with at least one of them required to be part of the playing four. The recurve and compound archers will shoot 70m and 50m, respectively, in a unique team format under floodlights. The Indian archers were picked based on world rankings as well as Archery Association of India's (AAI) recent selection trials. In recurve, world No. 3 Deepika and world No. 14 Dhiraj headline the field, alongside veterans Tarundeep Rai and Atanu Das. Other women recurve archers include Ankita Bhakat and Bhajan Kaur, while the men's line-up features Neeraj Chauhan, Rahul, Rohit Kumar, Mrinal Chauhan, Sachin Gupta and Krish Kumar. In compound, world record-holder Jyothi Surekha (No. 3) and world No. 9 Rishabh Yadav lead the charge. They are joined by veteran Abhishek (No. 10), Prathamesh Bhalchandra Fuge (No. 11), Priyansh (No. 16) and Parneet Kaur (No. 17). Among others, Aman Saini, Ojas Deotale, Sahil Rajesh Jadhav and Chittibomma Jignas will represent the men, while Prithika Pradeep, Avneet Kaur and Madhura Dhamangaonkar are part of the women's field. Bangladesh likely to replace Pakistan in Asia Cup hockey
Agency: New Delhi, Aug 18 (PTI) Bangladesh is likely to replace Pakistan in the men's Asia Cup hockey tournament to be held in Rajgir, Bihar from August 29 if the latter fails to confirm participation in the next couple of days, a top Hockey India official told PTI on Monday. The Indian government had already said that it will provide visas to the Pakistani players for Asia Cup, but the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has refused to travel citing security concerns. The organisers have already approached Bangladesh to fill up Pakistan's place in the eight-team tournament, but Hockey India said the exact scenario will be clear in the next 48 hours. 'The Indian government has already said that it is will willing to provide visas to Pakistani players but if they don't want to come to India, it's not our problem. Bangladesh has already been invited to participate in case Pakistan doesn't come but we will have to wait for two more days to get the confirmation," the HI official said when quizzed about the situation. 'Neither Pakistan or Bangladesh have confirmed anything to us till now. But Bangladesh are likely replacement for Pakistan," he added. Pakistan's participation in the Asia Cup — a qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup — was uncertain after the military confrontation with India following the Pahalgam terror attack. India had launched Operation Sindoor to destroy terror infrastructure in Pakistan after the terror attack that killed 26 people. PHF had suggested that the tournament be moved out of India to another venue. Besides hosts India, the other participating teams in the Asia Cup are China, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Oman and Chinese Taipei.
