Eamonn Holmes Shocks GB News Colleagues After Falling Off His Chair Live On Air

Yahoo21-05-2025

Eamonn Holmes has insisted he's doing 'fine' after falling off his chair on live TV.
On Wednesday's edition of the GB News breakfast show, the former This Morning host was chairing a debate when the incident occurred.
While contributor Charlie Rowley was speaking, a loud crash was heard off-camera, prompting Eamonn's co-host to declare: 'Oh my gosh!'
'OK, forget it,' Eamonn then said. 'I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, just carry on.'
However, as Rowley was heard stumbling over the next part of his argument, GB News cut to an ad break, sparking concern from some viewers over on X.

Six minutes later, the live broadcast resumed, with Eamonn quipping that he's 'alive', and blaming his seat's 'wonky wheels'.
'They're very wonky wheels on chairs we've got here,' he said. 'As a matter of fact we don't really like the chairs here.'
Eamonn also admitted that the fall was 'a bit of a shock for me' because just two weeks earlier, he'd 'had a fall' in his bathroom that landed him in hospital.
His rep told Metro: 'Eamonn slipped off his chair. I've been told he's fine to carry on.'
After undergoing back surgery in 2022, the daytime star said he began suffering problems with his left leg. During this recovery period, Eamonn suffered a fall at his home and was left with several injuries, including a broken bone, and took an additional four months off work.
In recent history, he has repeatedly been pictured using a wheelchair, telling fellow guests during his acceptance speech at the TRIC Awards last year: 'I had an operation a year and a half ago, and two things went wrong, so I have two things in my back I don't want. So I'll happily accept this [award].'
A week after this, Eamonn was forced to leave the GB News studio in the middle of a live broadcast, following a sudden bout of illness.

This Morning host says ITV has changed long-standing clothing rule after decades

This Morning host Rochelle Humes has shared her happiness after ITV bosses made a long-standing rule change. Former Saturdays singer Humes is one of the daytime series' rotating list of presenters alongside Ben Shephard, Cat Deeley, Dermot O'Leary, Alison Hammond, Sian Welby and Craig Doyle. Humes has revealed that all the hosts have been following a dress code that has been closely monitored since her first appearance alongside her husband, the JLS star Marvin Humes, in August 2013. It turns out that bosses have always instructed This Morning hosts to opt for smartwear, meaning jeans is an item of clothing that has been off the table – however, all that's changed, with denim trousers now permitted. Humes, 35, wasted no time in utilising the rule change, opting for a pair of River Island jean in Wednesday's episode (28 May). She announced the news on TikTok, stating: 'There's a new rule. We didn't used to be allowed to wear jeans, did we? But we can wear jeans now. This is amazing news for me.' The Independent has contacted ITV for comment. Humes' revelation arrives amid a huge shakeup for the channel's morning schedule. Last week, it was revealed that ITV is shortening Lorraine Kelly's hour-long show Lorraine by half and will reallocate those 30 minutes to Good Morning Britain instead, as part of a cost-cutting drive. This Morning will be unaffected by the scheduling changes, remaining in its usual time slot of 10am to 12.30pm. A source close to ITV told MailOnline: 'We were very open about the challenges in the industry and so several options were discussed – the key was ensuring Lorraine was retained and was as comfortable as possible in a changing landscape. 'Her show is still hugely valued – the show recently had its highest audience share in four years and still reaches 2.7 million people.' Earlier this month, part-time This Morning host Sian Welby admitted she was scared she would lose her stint if she told them she was pregnant before she started. The mother of one, 38, welcomed her nine-month-old daughter Ruby with her fiancé, Heart Breakfast producer Jake Beckett, last June. Welby was 20 weeks pregnant when she started co-hosting This Morning alongside O'Leary and kept her pregnancy a secret because she felt she had 'something to prove'. Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, Welby said: 'When you first start a job, you think 'Nobody knows what I'm actually like, that I'm trustworthy' and you have to prove yourself. 'I felt like I had proven myself, that I can do this and that. When I got that first This Morning cover with Dermot, I knew I was pregnant but I didn't tell anyone.' She said: 'In the back of my mind, I was thinking 'If I tell them I'm pregnant, will this put them off getting me in again?' And will they think 'Oh she's gonna be off for ages?''

Elon Musk's Dad Slams His Son's Whimpering Failure at Politics

Elon Musk's father Errol is once again sounding off about his billionaire son — and as usual, he has nothing nice to say. In an interview with England's Sky News, the elder Musk heaped on the criticism when asked to describe his famous spawn's political prowess. "He's not a very good conversationalist," the patriarch said. "He's not a very good politician at all." The former emerald miner went on to say that Musk doesn't have the "gift of gab" and suggested that he tried to warn his son against going into politics, which he bizarrely characterized as a bottomless "human swimming pool" in which nobody, including Winston Churchill or Donald Trump, can stay afloat. Notably, the Sky interview aired just before the younger Musk announced that his time as a "special government employee" in the United States was up. Soon after, the father — with whom Musk has been estranged since learning that he'd impregnated his step-sister — told GB News that his son and Trump still have a "good relationship." During his Sky interview, the older Musk also argued with broadcaster Gillian Joseph, a Black woman, about whether or not a so-called "white genocide" is taking place in South Africa, his and Elon's home country. When Joseph pointed out that a recent videos Trump shared purporting to show attacks against white farmers in SA was actually filmed in the Democratic Republic of Congo and taken out of context, Musk — who's shared fond memories of how "well-run" the country was during apartheid — kept insisting that was "not true." "Where's the evidence?" Joseph asked, as the elder Musk kept repeating "no, no, no" and spoke over her. Coincidentally, his billionaire son gave an extremely similar performance when speaking at Bloomberg's Qatar Economic Forum earlier in the month when reporter Joumanna Bercetche had the audacity to not laugh at one of his dumb jokes. For all their animosity, it seems Elon and Errol have a lot in common when it comes to being weird with women. Maybe the apple doesn't fall far from the emerald mine. Eamonn Holmes vows to ‘redouble' his efforts to walk again

Eamonn Holmes has vowed to 'redouble' his efforts to walk again. The 65-year-old has suffered a series of falls, surgeries and health setbacks that have left him reliant on canes and a wheelchair, and has now shared a poignant update with fans on social media, alongside a photograph of himself from 2022, standing tall in a suit beside a DeLorean sports car. He captioned it: 'Great picture popped up from 3 years but it's made me sad – I could walk. 'Got to redouble my efforts.' The TV presenter, who rose to fame as a host on ITV's 'This Morning' and now fronts GB News Breakfast, has been grappling with a string of health issues over recent years. He suffered a fall live on air earlier this year, which came just two weeks after he had been hospitalised following a similar incident. Both falls aggravated existing injuries from a spinal operation in 2022, as well as previous accidents at his Surrey home. The most recent fall occurred during his GB News segment, when a chair reportedly gave way beneath him. Speaking at the end of the programme, Eamonn told viewers: 'The chair gave way and I was lying flat on my back with my head hanging off the set. 'The first hour or so I was OK because the adrenaline kicked in, but then as the morning went on I felt the aches and pains. The worst thing is that two weeks ago I was hospitalised for a similar fall in the same area – back of my neck, head and shoulders – and that's all come back.' He added: 'We're going to have to replace the chairs because I'm not the only one to have fallen.' Fans have since rallied around Eamonn, sending words of encouragement in response to his post on X. One wrote: 'Keep pushing forward, Eamonn. Perseverance always pays off.' Another commented: 'Wolf whistle – still got it, Eamonn.' The veteran broadcaster, who had a double hip replacement in 2016, has continued to suffer from chronic pain since a follow-up spinal procedure in September 2022. In 2021, he was rushed to hospital after what was described as 'pain he's never felt in his life'. Further complications came in 2023 when he fractured his shoulder during a fall at home. Away from the studio, Eamonn is also dealing with personal upheaval is currently going through a divorce from Ruth Langsford, 65, with whom he previously shared a £3.6million home in Surrey. He was seen using a mobility scooter in public in late 2023 and appeared at the TRIC Awards using a walking frame, later telling reporters he was 'not OK'. Despite his physical challenges, Eamonn has continued to appear on screen, earning praise from colleagues who have described him as a 'trooper' for carrying on amid his health fight.
