Genshin Impact's Operation Downpour Simulation event in Version 5.6 adds a welcome touch of strategy to the typical combat-focused gameplay. The highlight is the Confrontation Scenario, a competitive mode where brains, not brawn, are the order of the day.
From now until June 3, 2025, the event challenges players against each other in a tabletop-style battle that mingles base defense with strategic offense. Here's how you can take over this mode with clever planning and strategically placed units.
The Game Mode and Strategies
The Confrontation Scenario turns Genshin's verdant world into a virtual war board. You have two missions:
Construct a solid defense to keep out enemy incursions.
Create a relentless attack to break through your opponent's configuration.
Most importantly, once you've set your offensive roster prior to a fight, you can't modify it mid-match—so strategy counts.

Scoring & Rewards
Don't panic if you don't win all matches. Genshin Impact provides rewards for stick-to-itiveness and effort.
You only need to accumulate 5,000 points in order to reach all the rewards of the event. You earn points even when you lose, so every match helps. After you reach all rewards, you can still replay for entertainment or to maximize your score and strategy.
Offensive Tactics
Triumph usually depends on taking advantage of the correct unit synergies:
Employ the high-HP Lava Avatar as a shield. As it absorbs damage, your Grenadiers can nibble away at critical defenses in relative safety from behind.
Graders are ideal tanks. Place your delicate yet high-range Samachurls in their rear to cancel out danger such as the Suppression Specialist Mek, which otherwise annihilates airborne units.
Wonderful for managing space and disrupting enemy pushes. While Spectres immobilize or slow, Mimics break and distract.
Having varied units with multiple copies of good ones—that is, instead of being too spread out can overwhelm even the best defended compositions.

Defence Layout
When building your base defence, note that surprise is on your side. Position Mek units strategically to cut off common attack paths. Target locations where enemy players tend to send ranged units such as Samachurls or Grenadiers.
Also, don't group units with the same vulnerabilities. For example, if your defense is overdependent on airborne enemies, a well-positioned Suppression Specialist will destroy your whole formation.

Beginner Stage Strategy: Tips and Tricks
At early levels, employ tried formations like:
Two Hilichurls on the top flank to push enemy buildings.
Adjust placements and unit compositions as you level up, depending on your opponent's composition and insights gained through trial-and-error.
The Confrontation Scenario is not about sheer brute force, it's about timing, synergy, and flexibility. Whether you're a strategic player or a general gamer who just wants something different, this event demonstrates Genshin Impact can provide engaging strategy play in addition to its action-based core.

Edmonton Oilers Jake Walman's random act of kindness wins hearts ahead of Stanley Cup final

Photo byWhat started as a routine trip to pick up essentials quickly became a memory the Stephens family will never forget. While running errands with their three kids, the Stephens family happened upon an unexpected surprise in the trading card aisle—Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman, casually browsing like any other shopper. The chance encounter turned magical as Walman not only chatted with the kids about hockey and video games but surprised them with gifts—transforming a regular Friday into something straight out of a feel-good sports movie. Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman buys trading cards for young fans in Sherwood Park Adam and Angela Stephens, along with their three children—Luke (9), Jake (7), and Emma (5)—were simply out shopping when their boys convinced them to swing by the trading card section. That's where they met Walman, who was browsing through cards himself. 'I was just kind of wandering around the store,' Adam told 'And there is Jake Walman picking up a tin of cards. He was just waiting and he started up a conversation, just being a nice guy.' Walman, a known Pokémon fan, noticed the kids looking through the hockey cards and asked if they were Oilers supporters. When they answered yes and shared their favorite players—Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl—Walman playfully asked if they had heard of Jake Walman. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo 'My son said, 'My dad loves him, he was so happy when they traded for him,'' Adam recalled. What followed was a 10-minute conversation covering everything from Pokémon and Minecraft to, of course, hockey. With their parents' approval, Walman offered to buy each child a box of cards. For young Emma, who isn't into trading cards, he picked out a Minecraft stuffed toy instead. 'I like doing that stuff,' Walman later said. 'I think we're in a position to be able to do that kind of thing and make people's day.' The story—and photo—quickly went viral, turning the Stephens kids into mini-celebrities at their school, Lakeland Ridge. Their snapshot with Walman is even set to be featured on the school's Oilers wall before Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. 'They all want his jersey now,' said Adam. 'My daughter won't stop saying the name Jake Walman. She named her stuffed animal after him.' Also Read: Top NHL prospect Matthew Schaefer returns from injury ahead of 2025 draft

Stanley Cup final spotlight: Can Stuart Skinner outperform Sergei Bobrovsky in the net?

Image Via Twitter The Stanley Cup Final is not just about power forward matchups or blue line strategies this year, as all the spotlight is on goaltending. While the Oilers and Panthers prepare for their second consecutive championship face-off, goaltenders Sergei Bobrovsky and Stuart Skinner are at the heart of this bitter battle. With glories, reputations, redemption, and the Cup at stake, this goaltending matchup has the potential to become the deciding factor in this year's NHL showdown. Sergei Bobrovsky's legacy vs Stuart Skinner's potential: A clash of two paths With a series to his name, Bobrovsky has a mountain of accomplishments and a legacy that speaks volumes in support of him. A two-time Vezina Trophy winner, Stanley Cup champion, and multiple-time All-Star, Bob's career has been built on consistent excellence and clutch playoff performances. Long-standing .914 save percentage in the NHL for him reflects not just talent but longevity at the highest level. He is not just a seasoned vet; he is a performer whose performance counts at crucial moments. Stuart Skinner is perhaps still carving his path. The young goaltender showed much potential in his rookie year and had a brief, strong push for the Calder Trophy. Yet, since the road has been rocky, the most interesting aspect about his trajectory has been the change. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cruceros todo incluido casi gratis (Ver ofertas) Ofertas de Cruceros | Anuncios Publicitarios Undo His save percentage has sloped downwards to its current state of .896. It has, however, been through these valleys that Skinner would shine on occasion with a backbone forged likened unto the character needed in a team whose path to finally breaking the championship drought seems quite far away. In terms of postseason pedigree, Bobrovsky has the advantage. He has posted a 0.911 save percentage in the playoffs since 2023 while leading all active goaltenders in shutouts in the same span, establishing himself as the goaltender who performs well in the big games. The young netminder Skinner, on the other hand, having dealt with benchings and inconsistencies throughout his postseason journey, also managed to grow deeper into the playoffs in ways that only made his presence indispensable in Edmonton's push. The recent form from both sides has made this an intriguing battle. As Bobrovsky had been dominant through the Eastern Conference Final, Skinner bounced back in a huge way in the Western series. Both goalies enter the Final with momentum, which will certainly be one of the most exciting subplots of the series. Also Read: "Never leave Stu': Stuart Skinner wins fans over with emotional post-game moment after Oilers' Game 4 victory While Stuart Skinner's emergence makes for some intrigue, Sergei Bobrovsky's elite experience and postseason credentials tilt the scales in his favor. In a championship where outcomes are decided on inches, Bobrovsky's poise could very well be the difference-maker.

PlayStation Plus celebrates ‘Days of Play' with GTA III remastered release

Source: Rockstar Games PlayStation Plus is celebrating its annual "Days of Play" event by including a flagship title to its game roster: the remastered Grand Theft Auto III from the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition. Beginning June 10, 2025, Premium and Extra level subscribers will be able to download and access this classic open-world game for free. This action allows fans to go back to Liberty City with improved graphics and gameplay on PS4 and PS5 systems. GTA III remastered free for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers The star of the Days of Play event is the inclusion of Grand Theft Auto III: The Definitive Edition with PlayStation Plus for Premium and Extra members. As of June 10, gamers get the fully remastered classic for free without any additional charge. The Definitive Edition comes with refreshed visuals, enhanced lighting, and contemporary controls, giving new life to this milestone title that was first released in 2001. This isn't the first time GTA III has seen a run on PlayStation Plus. It was available on the service's catalog for six months in 2021 shortly after the Definitive Edition's initial launch. This was followed by GTA: Vice City in October 2022, furthering the rotation of the trilogy titles through the subscription service. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The release follows the plan of Sony to keep PlayStation Plus new and interesting to fans amidst the Days of Play celebration. Additional details and community reactions to the GTA III remaster The remastered GTA III will still be offered on PlayStation Plus for roughly six months, probably going off the service in November 2025. This aligns with other Rockstar games on the service, like GTA San Andreas, which went up during last year's Days of Play and went off after a half-year. The Definitive Edition was originally met with widespread criticism when it was first released because of a myriad of bugs and performance problems. Rockstar has put a lot of effort in the last three years patching and enhancing the trilogy, though. A major 2024 update rectified a lot of the big issues, so now is the perfect time for enthusiasts to enjoy remastered Liberty City on PS4 and PS5. Meanwhile, in further news, committed fans have even managed to port GTA III to its originally intended platform, the SEGA Dreamcast, demonstrating the passion of the community for this classic title. PlayStation Plus's Days of Play event offers a great opportunity for both returning and new players to dive into the remastered Grand Theft Auto III. With enhanced visuals and improved gameplay, this release reminds players why Liberty City remains a timeless setting in gaming history. Don't miss your chance to explore this classic on PlayStation Plus starting June 10. Also Read: Rockstar surprises fans with new GTA San Andreas iOS update
