Notre Dame star RB Jeremiyah Love threw out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game

USA Today26-07-2025
Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love was in his home state of Missouri this weekend, and once again was honored by the St. Louis community.
As one of the top returning players in college football, Love is no stranger to the spotlight and it was once again on him Friday night as he threw out the first pitch at the St. Louis Cardinals game. The clip starts off with him catch an over the shoulder 'pass' from the mascot, as he proceeded to the mount for the ceremonial pitch.
Love would then have a solid throw, although it wasn't quite a strike, just a bit out of the zone. What's great about the video is it included his commentary during the whole time. You can hear him saying to himself not to screw it up, go back to his teaching and then not being overtly happy with his throw.
After leaving the field, he did acknowledge that his toss was better than it bouncing up there. Check out the full video below, as Love joins plenty of other former and current Notre Dame stars to throw out the first pitch at a Major League Baseball game.

North Carolina could bring back iconic uniform for 2025 football season

Will the Tar Heels bring back an iconic uniform? The excitment around the North Carolina Tar Heels' football program is at an all-time high as they get ready to usher in a new era under Bill Belichick. As the legendary head coach begins his first season with the program, many are hoping he can turn things around. There will be a lot of attention on the program nationally as well. Belichick is obviously a big name in the business and landing a head coach like him was huge for the program. It also opened up the door for new opportunities in terms of revenue and fun ideas for the program. That includes the return of a classic uniform possibly this season. Per Taylor Vippolis of Inside Carolina, the Tar Heels have placed an order for the 1980's throwback uniform, hoping to wear them this year. The Tar Heels brought back the navy uniforms a few years back which ended up being a hit. This classic uniform is a fan favorite, donned by Lawrence Taylor among other Tar Heel legends. Bringing it back would be a HUGE hit with the fanbase and with Belichick's ties to Taylor, it makes a lot of sense. There's no word on if these were approved or what games they would wear them for but I can't see why they would say no. Let's hope we get to see these at some point this season.
