Menifield, 37, defeated Julius Walker by split decision in a bout that was later named Fight of the Night and earned him an additional $50,000. The win snapped a two-fight skid for Menifield, who returned to Fortis MMA in preparation of the bout.

Anthony Hernandez hopes Reinier de Ridder win leads to Khamzat Chimaev UFC title fight
Anthony Hernandez is happy to keep wiping out UFC middleweight contender until he gets the belt. There was a belief that Hernandez could be among the candidates to next fight newly crowned champion Khamzat Chimaev, especially if "The Wolf" made a quick turnaround for October after taking the belt off Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 319. That possibility fizzled just days after Saturday's event, however, when the promotion announced Hernandez (15-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) would headline UFC Fight Night 262 on Oct. 18 in Vancouver against fellow streaking contender Reinier de Ridder (20-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC), who was also pushing for the shot. "I was getting a massage and I got the offer and they said, 'I think this is an offer you don't want to pass.' And I said, 'OK, run it. Sign the contract.' Now we're here," Hernandez told MMA Junkie. "If this is what I've got to do, let's keep going. Like I said, if I've got to knock every mother f*cker down until I get to the top, then so be it." Hernandez admits he was hopeful the Chimaev fight would materialize, but he's not fretting it. He loves to fight and loves to step in that octagon. However, Hernandez already has the longest UFC winning streak of any middleweight in company history without getting a title shot, so more should seal the deal. "At the end of the day I'm not matchmaker," Hernandez said. "I'm not Dana White. I don't make the calls. He says, 'Be here.' And I say, 'I'm in.' If I'm f*cking healthy, I'm there. I'll f*cking never say no to anybody in this f*cking division. "At that point it's like, what the f*ck am I going to do? At that point if people don't believe me, then f*ck 'em. We're going to keep sending that sh*t until we get everyone on our side." It remains to be seen how the weight class will unfold going forward with Chimaev at the helm. Hernandez will be a prominent factor with a win, however, and after what he saw from Chimaev at UFC 319, he likes his chances in that potential showdown. "I thought DDP would actually have answers and stuff, but turns out he just got away with being a f*cking big strong guy for a long time," Hernandez said. "Against a high-level wrestler, if you try to be strong, it just sets up traps. He found that out that night. There's levels to this shit, and I think I'm on that level. Eventually when the fight comes I'll be ready for it, but it's one fight at a time for me. Next fight is de Ridder so I'll just strategize against him and just f*cking keep climbing the rankings."

Bryan Battle released from UFC roster after back-to-back weight misses
Bryan Battle's lack of discipline on the scale has been met with consequences in the form of a UFC release. UFC officials verified to MMA Junkie on Wednesday that "The Ultimate Fighter 29" winner Battle (12-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) has parted ways with the company after missing weight for the second consecutive fight at UFC 319. first reported the news. After failing to hit the mark in the welterweight division against Randy Brown in December, Battle was forced up to middleweight. He could not make it work there, either, registering at 190 pounds for a matchup with Nursulton Ruziboev, which was ultimately canceled. The 30-year-old also had another previous weigh-in infraction at UFC on ABC 4 in May 2013, missing by two pounds before scoring a 14-second knockout win. Battle is unbeaten in his pat five octagon appearances dating back December 2022, but he could not get win as consistently on the scale, and it cost him a place on the roster.

Fabian Edwards: 'Juicehead wrestler' Dalton Rosta will sniff my crotch at 2025 PFL 10
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Fabian Edwards is adamant that Dalton Rosta has used performance-enhancing drugs at some point in his career. Edwards (15-4) meets Rosta (11-1) in the middleweight tournament finals Thursday, which headlines 2025 PFL World Tournament 10 from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. "He's a juicehead wrestler, and that's it," Edwards told MMA Junkie and other reporters of Rosta at a pre-fight news conference Tuesday. "He's a juicehead wrestler, he's going to come in there and try for a bit of hands, but we know what his game is going to be. He's coming in to sniff my crotch for five rounds for five rounds and make it a boring fight, and I won't have that." Edwards was then asked if he thinks Rosta is really on steroids, and the Brit doubled down on his accusations. "Of course he's on steroids," Edwards said. "He's either on it or been on it, you know what I mean? One of the two. Get him to do a lie-detector test and say, 'Have you ever been on steroids in your life?' And 100 percent, I bet my whole purse that he doesn't f*cking pass it." Despite the war of words between the two, Edwards insists he's unfazed by anything Rosta has to say. "Dalton, I don't think much of the kid," Edwards said. "I really do think he's a b*tch because if I were to catch him outside, just me and him, and no cameras around, and we really get into it, I know he wouldn't want to get into it. He's just putting an act on, so, it is what it is."
