Matt 'Shirvo' Shirvington received a cold reception on Monday morning after he was pushed into a pool of ice water live on-air. The Sunrise host, 46, who was dressed in a penguin suit as he presented the AM segment, took an unexpected cold plunge at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds. But it was for a good cause as the TV personality took an icy dip for Big Freeze 11 to raise awareness and funds for Motor Neuron Disease (MND). The charity was started by Neale Daniher in 2014 and has raised over $115 million for MND since its inception. 'I wouldn't say I'm exactly ready to take the plunge,' Shirvo told the camera, as he explained the charity's initiative, which sees celebrities slide into a pool of icy water for the cause. It's so full on. You get into an ice bath and something similar and you can control yourself with a breath.' Shirvo then said: 'Well jump in guys when you're ready. Good luck.' After getting into the ice bath, Natalie joked the feeling was so uncomfortable she felt like she was going into childbirth. She continued to breath loudly before admitting: 'I hate this.'
