UPPRPB issues update on SI recruitment drive
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), Lucknow issued an important clarification regarding queries raised by candidates applying for the sub-inspector (civil police) and equivalent posts under Direct Recruitment 2025. The board, through notification number PRPB-B (sub-inspector cadre)-03/2025 dated Aug12, 2025, invited applications for the recruitment drive. Since then, candidates raised questions regarding required educational and caste-related documents. The UPPRPB announced 4,543 vacancies across various ranks in the state police and its units. The vacancies include 4,242 posts for sub-inspector (civil police), 135 posts for platoon commander (PAC), 60 posts for platoon commander (fire service), and 106 posts for women platoon commanders in the women's PAC battalions, to be deployed in Budaun, Lucknow and Gorakhpur districts. In a statement released on Sunday, the UPPRPB outlined the following points: Class 10 and 12 marksheet/certificate: If the marksheet and certificate are separate, both documents must be uploaded with the application. If a single document contains both the marksheet and certificate, the same document should be uploaded in both slots provided in the application form. Graduation degree requirement: Uploading the graduation marksheet is mandatory for all applicants. If the final degree certificate is not available, candidates may upload a provisional degree certificate. However, they must present the original graduation degree during document verification and physical standard testing. Caste certificate for women candidates: The board clarified that for women candidates, caste status is determined on the basis of their father's caste certificate, as per govt order. Therefore, female applicants must ensure that they upload a caste certificate issued in their father's name only, in the prescribed format. Certificates issued from the husband's side will not be accepted. Issuing the clarification, Jeetaj Atre, additional secretary (recruitment), UPPRPB, advised candidates to carefully follow these instructions to avoid rejection of their application forms. The recruitment board also urged applicants to thoroughly review the official notification before submission to ensure compliance with all documentary requirements.
