Shocking video shows Liverpool fans surrounding car as police move in after horror parade incident
Reds fans descended on Liverpool city center to celebrate the success of Arne Slot and his players, who brought the curtain down on a memorable season by lifting the Premier League title at Anfield on Sunday. A video uploaded to X showed dozens of police officers surrounding a car and urging people to stay clear. The clip was uploaded with a caption that read: "Some maniac just ran everyone over. People stuck under the car got absolutely battered. Car doors ripped off."
Another video shows a black car traveling at speed, plowing into a crowd of fans standing in the street.
Eyewitness Natasha Rinaldi told Sky News: "We were having a great time and then we heard some screams. It sounded so loud, people sounded desperate and we looked out of the window and saw that a car had run over people.

"There was a woman stuck over the car and people started to go after the driver and they tried to break the car and then the police did everything to block and push people away.
"We could just hear screams and screams, and we were very confused. It was a horrible scene, no-one was expecting it."
Olivia Williams, senior reporter for our sister title, the Liverpool Echo, reports that "dozens of ambulances and police vehicles" are on the scene in Water Street, with a cordon in place and people forbidden from entering the scene.
Another Liverpool fan on social media shared aerial footage from above the scene, with screens put in place to prevent onlookers from seeing the devastation. Fire crews are also in attendance.
"We are currently dealing with reports of a road traffic collision in Liverpool city center," a spokesman for Merseyside Police said.
"We were contacted at just after 6pm today, Monday 26 May, following reports a car had been in collision with a number of pedestrians on Water Street.

"The car stopped at the scene and a male has been detained. Emergency services are currently on the scene. We will issue more updates as we have them."
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "NWAS is supporting an incident in Liverpool city center, following reports of a road traffic collision.
"We are currently assessing the situation and working with other members of the emergency services. Our priority is to ensure people receive the medical help they need as quickly as possible."
Earlier in the day, Slot and his squad were paraded through the city in an open-top bus, marking the first time in a generation that Liverpool fans have been able to celebrate a league title triumph with their players. The 2019/20 Premier League title victory coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning such celebrations were not possible.

Police worker gets misconduct warning over handling of 999 call before four deaths
A police staff member has been given a final written warning for misconduct over their handling of a 999 call made by a man before he apparently killed three family members and himself. Officers found the bodies of Bartlomiej Kuczynski, 45, his two daughters Jasmin Kuczynska, 12, and eight-year-old Natasha Kuczynska and their aunt Kanticha Sukpengpanao, 36, on January 19 2024. The four were all found inside a property in Allan Bedford Crescent in Costessey, Norfolk. Post-mortem examinations recorded that all four died of neck wounds. The deaths of the two girls and their aunt were being treated as murder, while the death of Mr Kuczynski was not being treated as suspicious. Norfolk Police said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the killings. The force had received a 999 call from Mr Kuzcynski on the morning of January 19 but officers were not deployed to the address until an hour later when police were called by a concerned dog walker, watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said. In an audio recording of the call, Mr Kuczynski said: 'I am walking with the knife, I have just lost the plot.' Mr Kuczynski expressed concerns about his own mental state and said he was confused. The call handler advised him to seek medical advice and police did not attend the property as a result of the call. When questioned as part of the IOPC investigation, the call handler said he did not hear the word 'knife' and would have acted differently had he done so. The call handler was initially suspended but returned to work following a review and was put on restricted duties. Norfolk Police said on Friday that a member of staff had been given a final written warning following a misconduct investigation into the handling of the 999 call. The force said in a statement: 'The IOPC investigation concluded the call handler had a case to answer for misconduct based on their handling of the call and failing to record their risk assessment in their decision-making. 'The force accepted this conclusion, and a misconduct meeting was held on June 26 2025 where the chair determined misconduct to be proven and issued a final written warning for 12 months.' The misconduct meeting was not held in public. Norfolk Police said that the worker remains employed by the force as a member of police staff, and is no longer on restricted duties. A full inquest into the deaths is anticipated to take place in 2026 pending the completion of a Domestic Homicide Review.

Police chief suspended after concerns raised about out-of-work behaviour
A police chief has been suspended after serious concerns were raised about his behaviour outside of work. Staffordshire Police Chief Constable Chris Noble, who denies any wrongdoing, is under investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for the matters which pre-date his employment with the force. The watchdog said it is also probing allegations that Mr Noble shared confidential information without a policing purpose. Staffordshire police and fire commissioner Ben Adams said his decision to suspend Mr Noble was a "neutral act" and has "no bearing on any indication of guilt". Mr Adams said: "Public confidence in the police service is vital so all allegations of misconduct must be fully and independently investigated. "In the interests of the public, Staffordshire Police and the chief constable himself, I have decided to suspend Mr Noble from his role pending the outcome of the IOPC's investigation. "Suspension is a neutral act, to enable an independent and thorough investigation to take place. It has no bearing on any indication of guilt and should not be seen as such." Mr Adams added: "I know that this announcement will come as a shock to many across Staffordshire, especially our hard-working officers and staff, but it is right that allegations of this serious nature are dealt with consistently and investigated properly and thoroughly." The police and fire commissioner said his team is working to identify a temporary chief constable. An IOPC spokesman said: "We received mandatory referrals from Staffordshire's Office of the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner on April 30, June 27 and July 29 this year in relation to Staffordshire Police Chief Constable Chris Noble. "The referrals relate to reports we've received raising serious concerns over Mr Noble's behaviour outside of his work duties. "The matters pre-date Mr Noble's appointment as Chief Constable for Staffordshire Police. "The IOPC is also separately investigating Mr Noble over allegations he shared confidential information without proper policing purpose. "That followed a referral in 2024 from the Office of the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire. "Our enquiries are ongoing." A spokesperson from the Chief Police Officers' Staff Association said: "Chief Constable Chris Noble completely and categorically denies any wrongdoing, and will continue to co-operate fully with the IOPC investigation."
