Woman Fosters Dog Hit by Car, She's Not Prepared for Rescue Cat's Response

Hearts have well and truly been melted by the adorable friendship between a rescue cat and a three-legged foster dog who hit it off immediately.
In January, Faith Poschwatta, 30, adopted Zora, a 2-year-old cat from Nashville's Humane Society. As soon as she laid eyes on the sweet feline, Poschwatta knew she "couldn't leave without her."
But after saving one animal from shelter life, Poschwatta wasn't done there.
While scrolling through Facebook in early July, she saw a post by Big Fluffy Dog Rescue asking for volunteers to foster some of their shelter dogs. They were expecting an influx of dogs to be brought in following the devastating Texas floods, and they needed to make space in the kennels to help as many as possible.
Poschwatta, who resides in Nashville, Tennessee, told Newsweek that while she had never fostered a dog before, she "thought reaching out wouldn't hurt."

"When I reached out and told them what kind of dog I would like to take in, they told me about a dog that they thought would be the perfect fit," Poschwatta said. "They sent over a few photos of her and shared a brief part of her story, and I fell in love with her."
Indeed, Poschwatta went to collect her foster dog, Ainsley later that day. She's an Australian shepherd mix who was hit by a vehicle and "left to die." Fortunately, two teenagers found her and drove her to the rescue for help.
"She was pregnant and successfully delivered her babies (all of which have been taken in by other families who joined the Big Fluffy Dog Rescue). Ainsley has been taken in by a lot of foster families since February. But ever since her accident, she's been hopping around on three legs," Poschwatta continued.
She still has the fourth leg as she needs to complete heartworm treatment before having it amputated. However, the affected limb has calcified and doesn't cause Ainsley pain.
From the moment Poschwatta brought Ainsley home, there was no denying how happy she was. She was jumping around, leaping on the sofa, and of course, acquainting herself with Zora.
While Ainsley was more than happy to become besties straight away, Zora took a little convincing. She was initially cautious of the "new intruder," but after around an hour, she was comfortable.
It seemed that Zora was curious but cautious of Ainsley for the first night. But by the next morning, Poschwatta caught the duo chasing each other and becoming inseparable.
Poschwatta told Newsweek: "I really didn't know what to expect because I don't know much of Zora's history from before I rescued her (besides that she was in two shelters). Zora loves to play and is affectionate, and I could tell she needed a friend, but I was shocked to see Zora warm up to Ainsley that fast."
It was so rewarding for Poschwatta to see the unlikely duo become close friends. She shared a video of their precious bond on TikTok (@faithposh) and the clip went viral with 71,400 views and 11,400 likes at the time of writing.
Unfortunately, Ainsley's health took a turn and Poschwatta had to rush her back to the animal hospital. She was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, or fluid on the lungs, that was a complication of her heartworm treatment. She was placed on oxygen and given round-the-clock care.
During that time, it was clear to Poschwatta that Zora was missing her friend. She was "calling out for her" in the night and searching the house throughout the day.
Poschwatta was considering adopting Ainsley once she'd recovered, but as it turned out, she had already found a new owner as the vet tech at the hospital asked to take her in. As much as she'd love to give Ainsley her forever home, Poschwatta is delighted that she's in capable hands and will be taken care of.
By posting the TikTok video of Zora and Ainsley, Poschwatta hopes to inspire others to foster or adopt an animal in need. It certainly hasn't been easy, but it's been ever so fulfilling. She also encourages people to donate to Big Fluffy Dog Rescue if they can, as Ainsley's medical bills have amounted to $4,000 already—with an amputation yet to come.
"I understand that fostering may not be for everyone and it's scary to open your heart to something temporary. But taking care of Ainsley taught me so much about myself and I would encourage people to try it. Although it may not be forever, love is never wasted," Poschwatta said.
Among the comments on her viral video, plenty of TikTok users praised the 30-year-old for bringing Zora and Ainsley together and saving their lives.
One comment on the post reads: "Ok now they are a bonded pair."
Another TikTok user wrote: "instant besties."
While another person replied: "Wow it's like they always knew each other."

‘Timid' dog found wandering aimlessly on Indiana road. Then came transformation
A dog in Indiana is now ready for a brand-new life to go along with her newly rebranded personality after spending months shaking in her small corner of the world. And yes, she has a super cute name to go with her squishable and boopable face. 'Just before Thanksgiving, a scared and timid pup was found wandering near 126th & Lantern Rd, unsure of where she belonged. We named her Betty Moo, and while her journey started in fear, it's blossomed into something beautiful,' the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Fishers said in an Aug. 5 Facebook post. 'At first, Betty Moo preferred to stay in the background, too shy to let her personality shine. But once she moved into a cozy office space (and later into foster), her walls started to come down. Now, she's a playful, goofy girl who turns every toy, zoomie session, and cuddle into a celebration of life.' According to her pet profile, Betty Moo has a love of toys and zoomies — especially in the yard. While her manners could use some tweaking, she's a quick learner. Here are some things a potential new owner should know about the 2-year-old mixed breed pitbull: Cats? No thank you. She needs a feline-free environmentKids are OK, at least 8 years old and aboveMaybe another dog in the house? Needs to meet them first 'She's a kind-hearted, fun-loving girl who just needs someone to believe in her as much as we do. After all she's been through, she's ready to know what forever feels like,' the shelter said. For more information, check out the shelter's website. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. An update has been provided on the status of injured WWE Raw superstar Austin Theory. According to a new report from the former United States Champion has been removed from the company's internal active roster. This move comes after Theory was written off television with a storyline injury two weeks ago. The removal from the active roster is a standard procedural step for a performer who is sidelined for an extended period. Removed From The Active Roster The PWInsider report, citing WWE sources, confirms that Theory is no longer on the internal list of talent available to be booked for television or live events. It is important to note that this does not mean he has been released from his WWE contract. Wrestlers recovering from legitimate, long-term injuries are typically taken off the active roster list until they are medically cleared to return to action. The specific nature and severity of Theory's injury, and a potential timeline for his return, have not yet been publicly disclosed. Fightful Select reports that he's listed with the other injured talent like Zoey Stark and Ilja Dragunov. An Abrupt End To A-Town Down Under Theory's injury has been woven into a major new storyline. On the July 21st episode of Monday Night Raw, his tag team partner, Grayson Waller, announced that their team, A-Town Down Under, was officially "done" due to Theory being on the shelf. HOUSTON, TEXAS - MARCH 11: A general stadium view during WWE Monday Night RAW at Toyota Center on March 11, 2024 in Houston, Texas. Waller showed no sympathy for his partner. He has since been seen on Raw attempting to form new alliances and has cut a scathing social media promo, claiming he "wasted two years" of his career making Theory relevant. This on-screen betrayal sets up a major grudge feud for when Theory is eventually cleared to return. A Career of Highs and Lows Austin Theory's WWE career has been a rollercoaster. He was initially pushed as the hand-picked protégé of Vince McMahon and became the youngest United States Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank in WWE history. However, his momentum stalled after an infamous failed cash-in attempt and a brutal promo from John Cena on the road to WrestleMania 39. He was successfully repackaged alongside Grayson Waller, and the arrogant duo captured the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 40. This latest injury and the split from Waller mark another major turning point in the career of the talented 28-year-old. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Israeli singer Efraim Shamir has been brought in for questioning by the Israel Police national crime unit Lahav 443, the police announced Wednesday. Shamir, famous for his work in the popular Israeli rock band Kaveret, is believed to be under suspicion of incitement to terrorism and violence against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Speaking to Maariv, Shamir's lawyer, Yair Nahorai, said that his client denies the accusations and is against violence of any kind. Some reports have alleged that Shamir made a post on social media about Netanyahu, saying, "A lying son of a liar must die." Regarding this, Nahorai said they would respond to these accusations after Shamir is finished speaking with the police. A history of controversy on social media Speaking to Ynet, Shamir said he didn't know why he was being questioned. The singer is known for his controversial and argumentative social media posts and openly negative view of Netanyahu and the current government.
