Ker balances Wrexham AFC going for it and consolidation
However, coupled with ambition is the realisation there's plenty of infrastructure work required at the club.
Speaking to Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman on The Sports Agents podcast, Ker said: 'It's an interesting one, because we talk a lot in the building about momentum. Like, we know that a huge amount of the success we've enjoyed this year was built on the foundations of two seasons ago.
'Our starting XI on the game that we clinched promotion against Charlton... if we hadn't got a couple of injuries, I think you might have had seven, maybe, players starting that game who had been with us in the National League.
'So, for us, that momentum is really important and you think, weirdly, despite all the many, many challenges and that we've got infrastructure issues, we don't have a training ground.
'Our stadium's very small, there's a lot of things that make it a little bit more difficult for us at present, this might be our best shot to go through the Championship.'
Ker touched upon the subject of clubs in the second tier with Premier League parachute payments, which has been reduced with Luton Town's relegation to League One.
While a fourth successive promotion would be welcomed by the club, Ker wouldn't actually mind a mid-table finish as Wrexham prepare for their first season in the second tier in over four decades.
He added: 'I mean, realistically, if someone offered me 10th place now, I'd absolutely bite your hand off and would not worry too much about promotion.
'We're about to pump a load of money into this brand new stand, which is more than a stand for us. It's going to be a club shop.
'It's going to be offices. It's going to be a whole raft of things that go beyond just having an extra 5,000 seats in the stadium.
'We've got to do a training ground as well. We've got an awful lot of stuff we need to do.'

The Portuguese star, 28, was killed in a car crash alongside brother Andre Silva in Spain last month. In his programme notes, skipper Virgil van Dijk said: "It has, of course, been a very challenging time. "First and foremost for Diogo and Andre's family, for Rute and the kids. They are the people who must always come first in all of this. We must never forget that, and we cannot imagine their pain in this moment. "It is still a bit surreal, to be honest, but we are coping in the best way possible as a team, and we are all trying to do the best job we can in order to get through this really difficult time. "With everything that happened, it has been strange having to now try to carry on with work, with football. We will never forget Diogo, of course, but we just have to try to honour his memory. That's what we try to do each and every day. "I always come back to the fact that we have to look after Diogo's family, his parents, and that's the main thing. You think about so many different things, and it's difficult to process. You can't imagine the pain, the feeling that they have. That's why we try to be there as much as we can, and for each other as well. "That's also why it is very important that we honour and carry on his legacy, not only for now and the next couple of months, but for as long as we can, because that is what he deserves."

Toto Wolff sends ‘unfinished business' message to Lewis Hamilton
Toto Wolff has backed Lewis Hamilton to stay at Ferrari and believes his former driver can win an eighth F1 world championship. Hamilton has endured a torrid start to life at Ferrari, failing to finish on the podium in the first 14 races of the 2025 season. This weekend in Hungary, Hamilton qualified 12th on the grid – when teammate Charles Leclerc secured pole position – and labelled his displays 'useless', adding that Ferrari should look to replace him. Hamilton finished the race in the same position, outside the points-scoring top-10, but Mercedes boss Wolff praised Hamilton's 'emotional transparency' with his comments afterwards. 'That is Lewis wearing his heart on his sleeve,' said Wolff, after the race in Hungary. 'It's what he thought when he was asked after the session. It was very raw. He was down on himself. 'We [at Mercedes] had it in the past when he felt that he'd underperformed in his own expectations. He has been that emotionally transparent since he was a young adult. 'He will beat himself up. But he's the GOAT [greatest of all time] and will always be the GOAT. [Nothing] will take that away, no single weekend or race season which hasn't gone to plan. That's something he needs to always remember — that he's the greatest of all time. 'Lewis has unfinished business in Formula 1. In the same way that Mercedes underperformed over this latest set of regulations, we never got happy with ground-effect car, in the same way it [affects] him. Maybe it is linked to driving style.' Hamilton won six of his seven titles at Mercedes but went to Ferrari with dreams of winning a record-breaking eighth championship. However, all his sights are set on next year given McLaren's dominance this year. 'He shouldn't go anywhere next year,' Wolff said, when asked about Hamilton's future prospects at Ferrari and whether he still has what it takes to win. 'There are brand new cars which are completely different to drive. New power units which need an intelligent way of managing the energy. I hope he's in [F1] for many more years. Next year is an important one. 'If he has a car underneath him which he has confidence in, and which does what he wants, then yes [he can win an eighth title]. If he has a car which isn't giving him the feedback that he wants — like the Mercedes of the past few years or the Ferrari which seems to be worse — then not. 'But you ask me if he still has 'it'? Hibs sell Lewis Miller to Blackburn Rovers for 'significant' fee
Hibernian have announced the sale of defender Lewis Miller to Blackburn Rovers for what the Easter Road club says is a 'significant' fee. The Australia international moved to Hibs from Central Coast Mariners in 2022, making 85 appearances in all competitions and scoring five goals. Miller impressed as Hibs bounced back from a tough start to finish third in the Premiership last season and his performances led to him being linked with a number of clubs over the summer. The 24-year-old will now look to help Blackburn in their Championship campaign after signing a three-year deal at Ewood Park. Head coach David Gray said: 'I'd like to start by thanking Millsy for all his efforts during his time with us. 'Since making the move to Scotland, he's been coachable, willing to learn, and has relentlessly worked on his game. He's certainly seen the rewards for that both at club level and internationally. 'We know he can go a long way and wish him all the best in England with Blackburn.'
