Serie A have not yet made plans for potential Inter title celebrations

Yahoo20-05-2025

Tuesday's reports claim that the Serie A trophy will be at the Stadio Maradona for Napoli's final league match of the season against Cagliari on Friday night, but there have not yet been any definitive plans put in place in the event that Inter overtake them and claim the title in the final round.
There is just one point separating Napoli and Inter at the top of the Serie A table with one game of the 2024-25 season left to play.

Both teams will play their final matches of the season – Napoli-Cagliari and Como-Inter – on Friday night at 19.45. There is still one specific set of results that will lead to the Serie A title being decided via a play-off, hence why the game will be played on Friday and not later in the weekend, with Inter involved in the Champions League final the weekend following.
Napoli or Inter: Who gets the Serie A trophy on Friday night?
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, preparations are in place for a potential Napoli title celebration party on Friday night after their game against Cagliari.

A victory for Antonio Conte's side will be enough to secure the title, in the coach's first season in charge. A draw will leave them relying on Inter dropping points away against Como.

As is usual for the team at the top of the table heading into the final day of the season, the trophy will be at the Stadio Maradona and there are plans in place for an on-pitch ceremony after full-time if Napoli claim the Scudetto.
It is also customary for there to be a back-up plan in the event that the team in second or below wins the title on the final day, however, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are not currently any plans in place for an Inter title celebration at the Sinigaglia, the home of Como.

If Inter were to win the title, there are suggestions that there could be a celebration back in the city of Milano on Sunday, however, there are still logistical concerns with rivals AC Milan in action in San Siro on Saturday.
La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that it remains to be seen what the final plan is in the event that Inter overtake Napoli in the final round of the 2024-25 season.

Report – Inter Milan Eyeing Up Four Different Parma Players

Report – Inter Milan Eyeing Up Four Different Parma Players Inter Milan are eyeing up Parma striker Ange-Yoan Bonny, defender Giovanni Leoni, and midfielders Adrian Bernabe and Mendela Keita. This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement These talks followed the arrival of Cristian Chivu as the new Inter coach. The Nerazzurri confirmed the 44-year-old's appointment on Monday – he had previously spent a few months on the bench at Parma. And Inter look to be ready to target some of the players Chivu worked with at Parma for their new-look team. He will not, in any event, arrive before the Club World Cup. However, reports Tuttosport, Inter remain the club in pole position to snap up Bonny. Advertisement Meanwhile, Inter face more competition for teenage Parma defender Giovanni Leoni. Juventus and AC Milan are also very keen on the 18-year-old. However, reports Tuttosport, Leoni is Inter's top target to reinforce their backline. Then, the Turin-based newspaper continues, Inter are also eyeing up two Parma midfielders. According to Tuttosport, Belgian international Keita would be a particularly big target for the Nerazzurri if Kristjan Asllani is to leave this summer.

Familiar 3-5-2 Shape & Fresh Faces – How Cristian Chivu Will Begin To Make Changes To Inter Milan

Familiar 3-5-2 Shape & Fresh Faces – How Cristian Chivu Will Begin To Make Changes To Inter Milan Cristian Chivu will start with a familiar 3-5-2 shape at Inter Milan, but he will already be implementing new ideas with fresh faces. This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement However, the Romanian is getting straight to work putting his stamp on the team. On the one hand, reports the Gazzetta, Chivu will stick with the 3-5-2 formation. At least initially. That is the shape that Inter are used to playing. They've practically played in that shape for all of the last six years under Antonio Conte and Simone Inzaghi. Therefore, Chivu is not going to upend that basic system right away. (Photo by) However, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport, Cristian Chivu is already beginning to tinker with the way the team plays within the basic framework of the 3-5-2 shape. Advertisement First of all, that means the positioning and movements of the attacking midfielders in the trio. The wingbacks and the strikers will also start to link up differently. And as the Gazzetta note, the addition of new signings will enable Chivu to start putting his stamp on the team immediately. In midfield, Croatian international Petar Sucic will enter the Inter starting eleven right away at the Club World Cup. Therefore, the 21-year-old can be a perfect player for Chivu to build his new-look midfield around. Sucic, unlike most of his new teammates, has not been playing under Inzaghi for several seasons. And similarly, Luis Henrique on the right flank will give an early indication of how Inter plan to use the wingback roles under Chivu.

Club WC serves as rehearsal for World Cup which is one year away

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup exactly one year away, local officials marked the occasion on Wednesday with a celebration at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, while promising to put on the 'biggest event that the world has ever seen.' The picturesque park will serve as the official site of the FIFA Fan Festival New York New Jersey, with plans for massive screens for fans to watch every match of the 39-day tournament, along with live entertainment and fan activities. Liberty State Park is a short distance from MetLife Stadium, which will host eight matches during the World Cup, including the final on July 19, 2026. NYNJ Host Committee CEO Alex Lasry called it 'a lot' just to reach the one-year mark until the world's biggest sporting event comes to the region, but said there's still more work to be done. Advertisement Alex Lasry, CEO of the New York New Jersey 2026 World Cup Host Committee, speaks during a media availability with host city leaders for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, in New York City on June 9, 2025. AFP via Getty Images 'I think what we saw today is what the plan is, and now we gotta move into the execution phase,' Lasry told The Post. 'Our region isn't unique to mega sporting events and mega festivals. I think that's what is really going to help us as we execute on what's going to be the biggest party and the biggest event that the world has ever seen.' Officials projected between $2.14 billion and $3.45 billion in economic output for the New York/New Jersey area related to the World Cup, with the host committee planning other events related to the tournament. Advertisement New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said the fan fest in Liberty State Park alone is expected to see at least 45,000 fans. The NYNJ Host Committee is also launching a number of events in the months leading up to next year's World Cup to build excitement, including the installation of a countdown clock at MetLife Stadium. Buildings across New York and New Jersey were lit up in Liberty Green and a mobile fan experience dubbed the 'Skyline to Shoreline Road Tour' will make its way around the region. Advertisement 'This is all part of becoming part of the fabric and culture of New York, New Jersey and getting people excited for the World Cup,' Lasry said. 'I think that's what we're trying to do, is just make sure that everyone has a feel for what we're planning to do. And just get people really excited about what's going to happen next year.' While excitement has been building for the World Cup, concerns have arisen over the current political climate in the United States related to the immigration policies of President Donald Trump, who was in office when the United States won the joint bid with Canada and Mexico to host the 2026 tournament. Murphy didn't express any concerns about the potential impact, saying he expected a 'blowout success and a safe World Cup.' 'Based on all the vibrations I hear, and we hear a lot, we're obviously working very closely with the administration, with FIFA. This is going to be done in a first-class, welcoming way,' Murphy said. Advertisement The outgoing New Jersey governor also touted the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which begins this weekend in the U.S., will be aired on DAZN, and will play several matches — including the final — at MetLife Stadium. Lasry called the Club World Cup a 'great chance for us to just get a sense' of how to work with their regional partners for the 'big show in 2026.'
