Injury update on Indianapolis Colts' CB Kenny Moore

USA Today4 hours ago
After exiting Sunday's practice with an injury, ESPN provided an injury update on Colts' CB Kenny Moore.
We don't have specifics at this time around the knee injury that Indianapolis Colts' cornerback Kenny Moore is working through. But ESPN's Stephen Holder did provide an update.
Moore exited Sunday's training camp practice with a knee injury. However, on Monday, Holder would report that the early word is that this "is not a major injury." Holder added that there isn't any info on a timeline for Moore at this time, and details are still "murky."
The Colts are navigating several injuries at the cornerback position. Justin Walley is out for the season after suffering an ACL injury in the team's joint practice with Baltimore. Jaylon Jones and JuJu Brents both remain sidelined with hamstring injuries.
This has left uncertainty around who will be starting opposite of Charvarius Ward. Samuel Womack, Alex Johnson, and Johnathan Edwards are all in the mix for those snaps at this time.
Moore has played over 1,000 defensive snaps in four of the last five seasons, mostly lining up at the nickel, and he came away with three interceptions in 2024 while holding pass catchers to just 9.1 yards per catch.

ESPN, Fox to bundle upcoming streaming services for $39.99 a month

Disney's ESPN and Fox Corp. are teaming up to offer their upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming services as a bundle, the companies said Monday. The move comes as media companies look to nab more consumers for their streaming alternatives, and draw them in with sports, in particular. Last week, both companies announced additional details about the new streaming options. ESPN's streaming service — which has the same name as the TV network — and Fox's Fox One will each launch on Aug. 21, ahead of the college football and NFL seasons. The bundled apps, however, will be available beginning Oct. 2 for $39.99 per month. Separately, ESPN and Fox One will cost $29.99 and $19.99 a month, respectively. While the bundle will offer sports fans a bigger offering at a discounted rate, the streaming services are not exactly the same. ESPN's flagship service will be an all-in-one app that includes all of its live sports and programming from its TV networks, including ESPN2 and the SEC Network, as well as ESPN on Disney-owned ABC. The app will also have fantasy products, new betting tie-ins, studio programming and documentaries. ESPN will also offer its app as a bundle with Disney's other streaming services, Disney+ and Hulu, for $35.99 a month. That Disney bundle will cost a discounted $29.99 a month for the first 12 months — the same price as the stand-alone app. Last week, ESPN further beefed up the content on its streaming app when it inked a deal with the WWE for the U.S. rights to the wrestling league's biggest live events, including WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble and SummerSlam, beginning in 2026. The sports media giant also reached an agreement with the NFL that will see ESPN acquire the NFL Network and other media assets from the league. The Fox One service, however, will be a bit different. Fox had been on the sidelines of direct-to-consumer streaming for years after its competitors launched their platforms. Just this year, it said it would offer all of its content — including news and entertainment — from its broadcast and pay TV networks in a streaming offering. Fox One won't have any exclusive or original content. Fox's move into the direct-to-consumer streaming game — outside of its Fox Nation app and the free, ad-supported streamer Tubi — came after it abandoned its efforts to launch Venu, a joint sports streaming venture with Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery. Both Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch and Disney CEO Bob Iger said during separate earnings calls last week that they were exploring bundling options with other services. Since Fox announced the Fox One app, Murdoch has said the company would lean into bundles with other streaming services. 'Announcing ESPN as our first bundle partner is evidence of our desire to deliver the best possible value and viewing experience to our shared customers,' said Tony Billetter, SVP of strategy and business development for FOX's direct to consumer segment, in a release on Monday.

ESPN's Computer Predicts Winner Of Chiefs vs. Chargers Week 1 Game

ESPN's Computer Predicts Winner Of Chiefs vs. Chargers Week 1 Game originally appeared on The Spun. Week 1 of the 2025 NFL regular season will be here before you know it. The Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in the first Friday night game of the 2025 NFL regular season. Kansas City and Los Angeles will be playing overseas in Brazil. The contest is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T. on Friday, Sept. 5, with the game airing live on YouTube. Ahead of the Week 1 showdown between the AFC West foes, the ESPN computer model, Football Power Index, released its pick for the game. ESPN's computer model likes the Kansas City Chiefs to take down the Los Angeles Chargers in their first game of the season. The Football Power Index is giving Kansas City a 56.9 percent chance of winning the game. Meanwhile, it's giving Los Angeles just a 42.8 percent chance of pulling off the upset on that Friday night. It could be the final ride for Travis Kelce, who announced earlier this year that he would be playing at least one more season. "I think the biggest thing is that I f------ love playing the game of football," he said. "I love playing. I still feel like I can play it at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don't think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I've been in years past. I want to give it a good run. I got a bad taste in my mouth in how I ended last year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was to the people around me. "I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility, in the community, and it's home for me now. I don't want to leave that life yet. I put in a lot of hard work and I put in a lot of focus into being the best that I can for K.C. Last year it didn't end well for us. I just feel like there's a responsibility in me to play out the contract that I initially signed, to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything that I've got, and that's what I'm going to do, man." Kickoff between Kansas City and Los Angeles is set for 8 p.m. E.T. on Sept. 5. NFL insider provides injury update on Alec Pierce

NFL insider provides injury update on Alec Pierce originally appeared on The Sporting News As injuries increasingly become a theme at Colts training camp, there is some good news. After Kenny Moore II's knee injury he suffered on Sunday was deemed to not be serious, the Colts got a positive update on wide receiver Alec Pierce. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Pierce, who suffered a groin injury during Sunday's practice, is considered day-to-day. FOwler added the injury 'does not appear to be serious.' Pierce had left practice briefly before trying to make a return, ultimately coming off the field again. It's a sigh of relief for Pierce, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract looking to build off his breakout 2024 campaign. The 25-year-old hauled in 37 receptions for a career-high 824 yards and 7 touchdowns. His 22.3 yards per reception was also best in the NFL, emerging as one of the league's best big-play targets. While he will still occupy that deep ball threat in the offense, Pierce must prove he can impact other areas of the field if he wants to stick in Indy. "This time, especially right now and into training camp, you try different things with him," head coach Shane Steichen said during OTAs in May. "Obviously, things he wants to get better and improve at, certain routes to keep getting better at and keep working those things so he can improve in that and we can add that to his game as well." If Pierce can become a more well-rounded receiver, then he may get a second contract with the Colts.
