Netflix's new action thriller which was filmed in Wales will have Welsh subtitles.

Tom Hardy's new Netflix action-thriller HAVOC is reportedly the largest feature film ever to be shot entirely in Wales. It was produced with the support of Creative Wales and even took place at Great Point Studios in Cardiff, Dragon Studios in Bridgend, and various locations across South Wales.
It was released on Netflix today (Friday, April 25) and due to being predominantly filmed it Wales, it even has the option of Welsh subtitles. This follows previous Welsh-subtitled productions on Netflix including Red Notice and The Adam Project featuring Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds.
The film stars action hunk Tom Hardy and is written and directed by Welsh-born Gareth Evans, known for his work on The Raid, Apostle, and Gangs of London. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter .

The plot follows a deal gone wrong and a battered detective who must navigate through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician's estranged son. You can read our review, here.

Wales has emerged as one of Netflix's key production hubs, hosting the filming of iconic shows like the hit Netflix original Sex Education, which was filmed at various locations across South Wales over four highly successful seasons.
Anna Mallet, Vice President of Production, UK, Netflix, praised Wales's contribution to global entertainment: "From Sex Education to The Crown, and now to HAVOC, some of our most beloved titles were filmed or produced in Wales.
"Blessed with incredible creative talent and beautiful natural landscapes, Wales is an amazing place to make entertainment, so Netflix is delighted that our Welsh productions can continue to create such enduring cultural and economic opportunities."
Thanks to the support of Creative Wales, Sex Education created a significant number of local job opportunities, as well as over 60 trainee and apprenticeship positions for young Welsh creatives, many of whom have since secured full-time roles.
HAVOC joins a prestigious lineup of major TV and film ventures shot in Wales, benefitting from the support of Creative Wales, an arm of the Welsh Government. From HBO's sprawling epic House of the Dragon to Amazon's freshly revealed Young Sherlock, and the widely celebrated theatrical release Mr Burton, Wales continues to be a hub for screen production.
Creative Wales has channelled £28.6 million into production funding within the screen sector, predicting a whopping £342 million boost to the Welsh economy as a result. This impressive return indicates that for every £1 spent by Creative Wales, nearly £12 is reinvested locally.
Apart from economic growth, the investment has also cultivated talent through 420 trainee placements and apprenticeships, sustaining a wellspring of industry expertise.
Culture Minister Jack Sargeant remarked: "We are immensely proud of our Welsh creative industries, which employ over 35,000 talented individuals, and the world-class infrastructure we have in place for film and TV productions.
"We are proud to work closely with Netflix, HBO, Amazon and others to bring major productions to Wales. Collaborations like this create jobs, training opportunities and major spend within our economy and are a global platform to showcase everything we offer as a nation."

Wynne Evans dropped by BBC after ‘inappropriate language' on Strictly tour
Wynne Evans has said he has been dropped by the BBC, following his apology for using 'inappropriate language' during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. The Welsh opera singer, known for the insurance advertisements, will no longer be a BBC Radio Wales presenter, he announced on Friday. Evans revealed in January he would be taking some time out from both his radio show and the Strictly tour to prioritise his wellbeing. On Instagram on Friday, he wrote: 'My beloved Wynners, From the very depths of my heart – thank you. 'These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know. 'It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won't be returning to my radio show. I'm gutted. 'That show wasn't just work – it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family.' Evans thanked his fans, and said he would have an online programme called The Wynne Evans Show. 'This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever,' he added. 'We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again. We have a new home. I'm bringing more presenters soon and I am sure you'll recognise a few of the faces.' Evans added that he was 'full of nerves. Full of hope. Full of love. Because when we show up for each other — like we always have — anything is possible'. Earlier this year, he apologised for language that he called 'inappropriate and unacceptable' after The Mail On Sunday reported that Evans was heard making a remark to a woman in a video filmed during the Strictly launch event. The Press Association report that they understand he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers. In January, he said: 'I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. 'I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. 'Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.'

Cancel your weekend plans to binge new Netflix thriller hailed 'pure greatness'
Netflix's new Scotland-set crime thriller is already proving a hit with subscribers, having climbed up to the third spot in the streamer's TV ranking just a day after its release. Starring Matthew Goode as the rumpled detective Carl Morck, Dept Q is stuffed with twists, red herrings and complex characters you will want to root for, making it the perfect weekend binge-watch. The new nine-part show finds Morck reeling from a botched murder investigation that left his partner paralysed and another police officer dead. The first episode sees his boss decide the answer is to squirrel him away in a basement department, rooting through cold case files. He teams up with Syrian refugee and former police officer Akram Salim (Alexej Manvelov), who picks their first case: the disappearance of an ambitious young prosecutor Merritt Linguard (Chloe Pirrie) on a ferry trip four years ago. Writer and director Scott Frank hoped to replicate the success he found on Netflix with The Queen's Gambit and has been sitting on the rights to Jussi Adler-Olsen's source Scandi-noir novels for over a decade. It's certainly gone down well with Netflix viewers, who have taken to X to urge others to give the new show a go. Senior TV Reporter Rebecca Cook shares her take on Netflix's show… Setting a dusty cold case file in front of a crack team of sleuths is definitely not reinventing the TV wheel. Making the detective in charge of said team the most disliked man in the police precinct is also nothing new. But Dept Q is further proof that when it comes to bad-tempered, trauma-laden crime shows, the limit does not exist. This one benefits from a violently unhinged baddie, who it's impossible to look away from him. The Slow Horses comparison is apt. They're dud spies, these are dud coppers. Unfortunately, Dept Q doesn't quite reach the levels of The Thick of It comedy found in Slough House, but the Department Q gang are a good hang nevertheless. @Mon3yStretch wrote: 'I gotta say, when it comes to detective shows, the British are cream of the crop.
