Dr Hegadekatti takes charge as SWR's Sr DCM
Dr Hegadekatti has experience from key roles in the Indian Railways and the union govt, including his tenure as deputy secretary at the department of personnel and training in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), govt of India. A thought leader in administrative reforms, he was instrumental in national digital initiatives like Karmayogi Bharat and e-HRMS 2.0. SWR has said in a press release that Dr Hegadekatti is recognised for his pioneering research in futuristic railway infrastructure, most notably the visionary Project Super Gauge. "He represented India at prestigious global platforms, including the World Economic Forum. On joining in his new role as Sr DCM, he successfully organised the welcome ceremony for the PM's new KSR Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Inaugural special at SSS Hubballi Railway Station. He will spearhead Hubballi division's commercial operations, with focus on enhancing freight performance, passenger amenities, revenue generation, and digital transformation," the release added.

In a related move aimed at offering long-awaited relief to property owners, the Karnataka State Cabinet recently approved the regularisation of B-Khata properties issued by BBMP up to September 2024. This decision will enable such properties to be upgraded to A-Khata status, giving residents access to essential civic amenities and long-term legal clarity. 'When giving it, we will specify the parameters. If property owners comply with the parameters, then B-Khata will be issued,' said Law Minister H.K. Patil, following the Cabinet meeting held on July 18. BBMP rolls out Aadhaar-based automatic property mutation service
In a move aimed at simplifying property ownership transfers, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched an Aadhaar-based automatic property mutation system. The initiative is expected to make the process more transparent and convenient for citizens. To use the service, citizens can visit e-aasthi portal and click on the 'e-Khata Automatic Mutations – Get Your Mutation' link under the 'Important Instructions' section. Pending e-Khata mutations can be searched using the EPID number. The process requires Aadhaar e-KYC verification for both the seller and the buyer. If the Aadhaar details match with the e-Khata records of the property owner, the mutation will be automatically approved after a seven-day objection period, provided there is no dispute. According to BBMP, any disputed case will be referred to the authority concerned for an inquiry and resolution.
