Amman Municipality: Electronic Registration for Eid al-Adha Sacrificial Animal Stalls Begins Tomorrow - Jordan News

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced that starting Tuesday morning, it will begin receiving electronic applications for selling and slaughtering sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha 2025. The application period will run until June 2nd, and submissions will be accepted only through the official website. اضافة اعلان According to a press release issued on Monday, the online service will go live at 10:00 AM, allowing applicants to submit their requests and pay electronically by selecting the "Eid Sacrifice Permits Service" from the e-services menu. The municipality noted that the electronic lottery to allocate stall locations will take place at 4:00 PM on June 2, with an electronic deposit of 500 Jordanian Dinars required. Priority will be given to applicants with relevant commercial licenses (such as butcher shops), and the designated stalls will cover all areas of the capital, aiming to: Prevent random and unregulated selling, Facilitate sanitization, Avoid public health issues. All 453 designated stalls will be monitored by veterinarians to ensure adherence to regulations and health standards. Stalls will not be allowed in residential areas, and owners must meet public safety requirements. Applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted via SMS, either through the website or to the phone number they provided in their application. Eligibility Criteria: Nationality: Must be Jordanian. Age: Must be at least 18 years old, born no earlier than January 1, 1995. Education: Must hold a passing Tawjihi certificate in either the Scientific or Literary stream, with a minimum average of 65% and a score of at least 70% in English. Height: Minimum of 160 cm, with weight proportionate to height. Health: Must be medically fit for military service. Interview: Must pass a personal interview conducted by the specialized committee. English Proficiency: Must pass the English language test. Character: Must have good conduct and no prior convictions of felony or moral misconduct. Service History: Must not have previously served in any military or civil capacity in the Jordan Armed Forces or security services. Required Documents: Personal Details Form: Completed as per instructions; will be sent via SMS from the Recruitment Center. National ID: Valid, non-expired magnetic ID + certified copy. Tawjihi Transcript: Original or certified copy. Recent Photos: Four (4) passport-sized photos (4x6 cm) with white background. Birth Certificate: Original or certified copy. Family Book: Certified copy of father's page or certified death certificate showing father's place of birth if deceased. Military Service Book: With valid deferment. Military Parent Proof (if applicable): Original or certified copy of retirement decision, or written proof that a parent is currently serving, injured, or martyred in military/security forces. Application Fee: 12 JOD for application and medical examination fees. Important Notes: All data must be accurately entered through the website, and all documents must be uploaded in PDF format. Applications submitted outside the official portal will not be considered. Any application that does not meet the stated criteria, is incomplete, or contains uncertified documents will be rejected.

Jordan's Iftaa' Department announced that Wednesday, May 28, will be the first day of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446. Accordingly, the first day of Eid al-Adha will fall on Friday, June 6. The announcement came after the crescent moon was sighted on Tuesday evening, confirming the start of the Islamic month in which Hajj takes place. Arafat Day, which precedes Eid and marks the climax of the Hajj pilgrimage, will be observed on Thursday, June 5. Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates all announced Eid al-Adha will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025. Brunei will observe the eid on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

She emphasized that the celebration serves as a tribute to three decades of dedicated service and national contribution. Nicholas Burniat, UN Women's Representative in Jordan, highlighted Jordan's pioneering role in empowering women within the Jordanian Armed Forces, including in special operations. He noted that male personnel in the military have not only accepted the presence of women but actively supported their participation. He also reiterated the commitment to continue the partnership through the support of donor countries that have played a key role in this progress. The celebration featured a variety of segments reflecting discipline, excellence, and professionalism, including silent drill performances showcasing precision and skill, a traditional folklore segment, weapon assembly and disassembly contests, tug-of-war, and fitness demonstrations. Units such as the Rapid Intervention Brigade and the King Hussein Bin Ali Brigade performed military parades demonstrating high readiness and discipline. The Royal Military Police Command presented a live demonstration showcasing their field capabilities in emergency scenarios. Additionally, the Royal Engineering Corps showcased a "robotics" segment highlighting advancements in the use of modern technology in military tasks and duties. The event concluded with a theatrical performance by students from Al-Hussein Secondary School for Girls and a musical performance by the Jordanian Armed Forces Band. On the sidelines of the event, a Royal Jordanian Air Force helicopter flew over the venue carrying the Jordanian flag, symbolizing the continued celebrations of the Kingdom's Independence Day. Princess Aisha saluted the helicopter crew in a scene that reflected pride in the nation, its people, leadership, armed forces, and security services. At the end of the event, the Director of Military Women's Affairs honored Princess Aisha in recognition of her pioneering contributions and pivotal role in supporting and empowering women within the Jordanian Armed Forces.
