Abu Dhabi, UAE: Wizz Air, EMEA's most environmentally sustainable airline[1], celebrates its birthday with an unmissable promo. From today to 18 of May, passengers can book over 1 million seats priced under 89 AED[2] for travel through March 28, 2026. The Tickets are already available on Wizz Air's website and through the official WIZZ app. The offer is valid until May 18 and promotional seats are limited.
With a network of over 800 routes, serving nearly 200 destinations across more than 50 countries, the airline is celebrating its milestone with a campaign that reflects its long-standing commitment to delivering accessible, personalised, and value-driven travel experiences.
Since its first flight in 2004 from Katowice to London Luton, Wizz Air has carried over 437.7 million passengers, supported by 33 bases in 16 countries, a young and efficient fleet of 232 Airbus aircraft (66% with neo technology), and an average aircraft age of just 4.66 years, one of the youngest in the industry.
This promo also reflects the airline's Customer First Compass initiative, which guides every aspect of the passenger journey through four key pillars: product, price, service and communication. With more than 30 routes to and from Abu Dhabi, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the joint venture of ADQ, continues to strengthen its presence across the region. In 2024 alone, the airline operated more than 19,000 flights to/from Abu Dhabi and carried more than 1.2 million international visitors to the UAE capital, proudly flying the flag for ultra-low-fare travel. As the national carrier of the UAE, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is the second-largest airline in Abu Dhabi, contributing 25% of point-to-point traffic at Zayed International Airport. At the beginning of summer 2025, two exciting new routes will begin operation, with three weekly flights to Beirut and Gabala. Customer base: In Q2 our Mobile customer base grew by 10.8% year-over-year, reaching 9.1 million subscribers, representing 893,000 net-additions year-over-year. Postpaid rose 9.8% year-over-year to 1.9 million customers supported by strong momentum in the enterprise segment. Prepaid grew by 11.1% to 7.3 million subscribers, reflecting the continuous success of the Alo brand among blue-collar workers and the expansion of retail presence in underserved areas, as well as a solid tourist activity. In Q2 our Fixed customer base recorded a strong year-over-year growth of 12.0%, reaching 706,000 subscribers, with 76,000 net-additions over the past 12 months. This performance was driven by the continued success of our Home Wireless offering as well as sustained demand for fibre broadband services, reflecting our enhanced value proposition and our expanding Network. Q2 2025 Financial Highlights: Revenues surged by 8.6% year-over-year reaching AED 3.9 billion, marking strong performance across both service and non-service revenues. EBITDA grew by 16.4% to AED 1.8 billion, with the EBITDA margin improving by 3.1 points year-over-year to 46.8%. The uplift was fuelled by a stronger gross margin, mainly benefiting by a more favourable mix, with continued migration toward unlimited data plans. Our continued discipline around cost efficiency and collections also played a pivotal role in enhancing profitability. Net Profit rose by 25.1% year-over-year to AED 727 million, delivering a Net Profit margin of 18.6%. This reflects the strength of our operational performance and a clear focus on value creation for our shareholders. Capex reached AED 545 million (Q2 2024: AED 442 million), representing a capex intensity of 14.0% (Q2 2024 capex intensity of 12.3%). Operating free cash flow (EBITDA – Capex) rose by 13.8% to AED 1.3 billion, underpinned by strong EBITDA growth.
