iPhone 17 Air Launch In September: Design, Specs And Price Expected
iPhone 17 series launch is widely expected in September and some reports have even suggested that Apple could unveil the new models on September 9 this year. The new lineup could have some interesting alterations, especially with focus on the rumoured iPhone 17 Air variant which might be similar to the Galaxy S25 Edge model from Samsung, focusing on a sleek design with premium finish.
But this is Apple, and going by the noise around the iPhone 17 Air launch and its supposed features, the company could be putting a big bet on its premium badge at the back of this model. With the iPhone 17 launch not that far away, here's a detailed look at the iPhone 17 Air model and what it promises to bring to the market.
iPhone 17 Air Design
The rumoured iPhone 17 Air is tipped to feature a slim design, which has become an unknown entity in the company's phone lineup these days. Apple could upstage these figures with the iPhone 17 Air and go for a 5.5mm frame with a device weighing under 150 grams.
Reports say the slim or Air iPhone model will feature only a single camera at the back and front, and its biggest highlight is likely to be the aluminium slim design. The recent leaked images of the iPhone 17 Air model alongside the iPhone 16 Pro shows the difference in their size and these cutbacks should make it easy for Apple to pull through with the sleek design.
The 17 Air version is heavily tipped to replace the Plus variant this year. It is expected to carry a 6.7-inch display which gives the right dimensions. The company should offer it with the latest A19 Pro chipset with 12GB RAM which makes it compatible with Apple AI features and Siri AI when it releases next year.
For imaging, the iPhone 17 Air is tipped to come with a single rear camera and carry a really small battery pack. It seems the company is aware about the battery limitations, which is why it could bring a battery pack for this specific model, which means more money into its coffers. Accessories have become a big part of Apple's business and this battery pack could be the icing on a costly cake.
iPhone 17 Air Price
With all these changes, a sleek body and aluminium finish, Apple is unlikely to go easy with the iPhone 17 Air price when it launches. Going by the market trends, we expect the new model to cost around Rs 1,20,999 for the base variant which puts it below the Pro models but slightly higher than the regular version.

Why you should use a password manager for all your secrets, not just logins
I have espoused the virtue of password managers in many, many columns. Believe it or not, there's actually another benefit: they offer quick access to all your secrets, not just passwords. Airline needs your TSA PreCheck info? Just copy and paste from your manager. School enrollment asks for the kid's medical plan number? Yep, that too. Tax preparer wants your bank details? No problem. The more information you add, the more convenient your password manager becomes. Many apps also let you securely store files, like a copy of your will. Centralizing these details is also a huge help to heirs when you pass. I'll go over your best password manager options, what info to plop in, why this should be a key part of your postdeath plan—and what it means to put all of your most precious eggs in one virtual basket. If you already have a password manager, you can skip to the next section. That is, unless you use Microsoft Authenticator: the company will get rid of stored passwords on Aug. 1. I've covered the basics before, but some points are worth keeps growing. Americans lost $16 billion to identity theft, data breaches and other crimes last year, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. To stay safe, you need a unique password for every account. That means you need a lot of passwords, about 168 on average, according to a 2024 NordPass study. And 255, with work accounts! A password manager creates, remembers and fills them in for you. Apple and Google's free, built-in managers work well within their ecosystems but are mostly limited to logins. Browser autofill handles addresses and credit cards, but that's about it. That's why I recommend third-party password managers instead. They work across platforms. Crucially, they let you save more than just logins, such as passports and driver's licenses. Here are some of my favorite options. 1Password ($36 a year) has the most category types, from rewards cards to software licenses, and you can add custom fields to any entry. Dashlane ($60 a year) can store different IDs, including social security and tax numbers. Bitwarden and Proton Pass offer respectable free tiers, though you need to pay for features such as file attachments or sharing passwords with family. 1Password lets you store a variety of information types, with tailored fields for each. This process takes some work up front. But the investment will pay off as you add to your vault. The next time you need your license plate number, or some other odd bit of info, you can search your manager, click to copy the data to your clipboard and paste. Remember: you're doing double duty. You are also relieving the burden on loved ones who would otherwise have to hunt down your info after you die. Set up emergency access or print out login details for your password manager and store it in a safe place alongside a physical copy of your will. Here's how to get started. Even if your password manager doesn't have 'garage code" or whatever entry type you want, you can still save it. Add a login, create an easily searchable title and input the data in the password field. You can put other relevant data in the notes section. Many password manager plans include several document storage. Store a copy of these files for safekeeping: Receipts for big purchasesPermitsMarriage certificateBirth certificatesYour willProperty deedsVehicle titlesVisasLegal agreementsMilitary service records You might be thinking: is it really safe to have all of your most sensitive data in one place? What if a hacker hacks the password manager? My recommended password managers are built on what's called zero-knowledge architecture. Only your master password can decrypt your vault, and it isn't on company servers—no employee or hacker could get to it. To quickly access your info, use the password manager's browser extension, such as Dashlane's shown here, find the right entry and click to copy the data to your clipboard. This level of security is also what makes a password manager a better place to keep private data, compared with a cloud storage provider. Or worse: data scattered across several unsecure apps. Turn on two-factor authentication for more protection. And beware especially of downloading any free software—potential password-stealing malware—from the it isn't about how many eggs are in the basket, it's about how well you guard it. A long, strong master password is the best way to protect your vault, and everything inside. Write to Nicole Nguyen at

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE phone with One UI 8 is in the works: What to expect
Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy S25 FE, a new smartphone in its Fan Edition series. According to a report by Live Mint, details about the device's colour options and storage variants have surfaced online, hinting at a familiar configuration similar to last year's S24 FE and new shades as of current Galaxy S25 lineup. The official launch is expected to take place around September. Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: What to expect According to the report, the Galaxy S25 FE is likely to be offered in two familiar storage configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. It suggests that Samsung may not introduce higher storage variants for its Fan Edition this year either. In terms of colours, the phone could be available in Navy, Jet Black, and Icy Blue. The same shades are there on the current Galaxy S25 lineup. However, these colourways were not part of last year's S24 FE range, which indicates a shift toward aligning the Fan Edition's design more closely with the premium S25 series. As per the previous reports, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to be powered by Samsung's Exynos 2400 chipset, the same processor used in the Galaxy S24 and S24+ models. The smartphone may feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for added durability. Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 FE is largely expected to retain last year's design, but with a shift to Armour Aluminium, and become slimmer and lighter at 7.4mm thick and 190g (down from 8.0mm and 213g). For imaging, the device is expected to feature a 50MP main, 8MP 3x telephoto, and 12MP ultra-wide. However, the selfie camera will reportedly get an upgrade to 12MP, possibly with autofocus. On the software front, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16 and support seven years of OS updates and security patches. Battery capacity might be bumped to 4,900mAh (up from 4,700mAh), with 45W fast charging, an increase from 25W, while 15W wireless charging is also expected.
