Shenandoah man waives hearing in CSAM case
The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office April 16 charged Anthony Cuff, 46, with felony possession of the images and one count of criminal use of a communications facility. The case now proceeds to the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas.
Authorities found 201 images of CSAM on devices, documents show.
Unable to post $100,000 straight cash bail, Cuff remains in Schuylkill County Prison following his arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker in Shenandoah.
The arrest resulted from a tip reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cyber Tip Line by Microsoft in October 2024, and forwarded to the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, according to documents.
The file contained an image of a naked underage female, documents show. A subpoena served on PenTeleData for subscriber information March 3 disclosed an address of a Shenandoah man, though not the man eventually charged.
Investigators obtained search warrants for electronic devices and other information relative to the case. Agents from the attorney general's office appeared at an Oak Street home and spoke with a man who said Cuff has access to the internet. A search of the devices at the house agents visited showed no signs of the CSAM, authorities said.
Agents followed up by visiting Cuff's home, where he confirmed he has access to the internet. A search of devices found one connected to the wifi at the Oak Street address.
In addition to finding at least 201 images on devices at Cuff's home, authorities said they also discovered a child sex doll in a bedroom.

Former University of Arkansas professor pleads not guilty to possessing CSAM
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A former University of Arkansas professor accused of possessing child sexual abuse materials has pleaded not guilty, according to court documents. Joshua McGee, 34, was arrested on July 11 for one count of possession of child pornography. McGee entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment on Aug. 11. His trial is set to begin on Oct. 9 at 8 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse. A preliminary report said that in June, the Fayetteville Police Department started an investigation after an IP address registered to McGee had downloaded 'large amounts' of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM). Investigators found that the IP address had downloaded files from June to July 2025. Officers went to McGee's residence on July 11 to speak with him. McGee confessed to downloading multiple files of CSAM as recently as a week before being interviewed. However, when asked if he had CSAM stored on his phone or other electronic devices, McGee said no. Missouri man pleads not guilty to sexually enticing Pea Ridge teen McGee's cell phone and electronic devices were searched and investigators found CSAM. A thumb drive reportedly contained multiple folders of CSAM, each labeled with specific categories. A hidden folder app on McGee's cell phone also contained CSAM, according to the report. A spokesperson with the University of Arkansas told KNWA/FOX24 following McGee's arrest that he was a teaching assistant professor of exercise science, and he had been placed on administrative leave. McGee's profile has since been removed from the university's website. KNWA/FOX24 reached out to the university on Aug. 12, and the spokesperson said that McGee is no longer employed by the university. McGee was released from the Washington County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Ex-Intel engineer sentenced for sharing secrets with Microsoft — gets two years of probation and $34k fine for stealing 'thousands of files' that may have landed them a new job with the company
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. An ex-Intel employee has been sentenced to two years' probation and fined $34,472 for pilfering 'thousands of files,' which were reportedly instrumental to him landing a new position at Microsoft. Oregon Live says that Varun Gupta, who had been a product marketing engineer at Intel for a decade, aided Microsoft in significant processor purchasing negotiations with Intel. A custodial sentence was offset by the fine and the judge's belief that Gupta had suffered enough due to a loss of reputation. The timeline As we mentioned in the intro, Gupta was an Intel employee for 10 years, but he departed the iconic PC chipmaker in January 2020, moving directly to Microsoft. From the source report, it seems that Gupta spent a lot of time copying files containing trade secrets shortly before leaving his employment at the Santa Clara headquartered corporation. These trade secrets were reportedly instrumental to Gupta securing his new position at Microsoft. Moreover, they were subsequently used for the benefit of Microsoft in processor purchasing negotiations with Intel. A particular PowerPoint document was referenced in the court records, indicating that the presentation slide(s) charted Intel's pricing strategy, as drafted for another major customer. The court proceedings Oregon Live reports that the prosecutor, Assistant U.S. Attorney William Narus, sought an eight-month prison term for Gupta. Narus spoke about Gupta's purposeful and repeated access to secret documents. Eight months of federal imprisonment was sought as Gupta repetitively abused his cache of secret documents, according to the prosecutor. For the defense, attorney David Angeli described Gupta's actions as a 'serious error in judgment.' Mitigating circumstances, such as Gupta's permanent loss of high-level employment opportunities in the industry, and that he had already paid $40,000 to settle a civil suit brought by Intel, were highlighted. U.S. District Judge Amy Baggio concluded the court hearing by delivering a balance between the above adversarial positions. Baggio decided that Gupta should face a two-year probationary sentence. Meanwhile, that peculiar $34,472 fine is explained as equating to the cost of eight months of federal imprisonment that Gupta avoided by a hair's breadth. Baggio reasoned that the fine helped reinforce the understanding that Gupta's actions were seen as more than a one-off indiscretion. But her position was softened by the very public besmirchment of the ex-Intel exec's character. Gupta's travels Gupta was ordered to pay the fine in full before heading back to France. The ex-tech exec and his family have started afresh in La Belle France, with eyes on a completely new career in the wine industry. According to the report, Gupta is now studying for a qualification in vineyard management, while aiming to work as a technical director in the business. BLANDING, Utah () — A Blanding man has been arrested for allegedly having a 'secret relationship' with a 16-year-old and encouraging her to send him explicit sexual photos, which are considered child sexual abuse material (CSAM) due to her age. Kerry Dean Benally, 30, was booked into the San Juan County Jail on five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, five counts of distributing material harmful to a minor, and five counts of unlawful sexual contact with a 16 to 17-year-old. Charges have not been formally filed by the county attorney yet. According to court documents, on June 4, 2025, a 16-year-old victim was interviewed at the Children's Justice Center after the Blanding Police Department was made aware of a possible sex offense committed against her by a 30-year-old man. The victim told police that she had been communicating and spending time with Benally. Roy woman charged after 10-month-old baby hospitalized for ingesting narcotics, documents say The 16-year-old stated that she had been speaking with Benally through Instagram, and that she had spent 'a couple of nights over' with Benally at his family member's trailer. Documents say that she would not go into detail about those nights, but did confirm they had slept in the same bed. Documents say that the victim was told that she and Benally 'needed to keep their relationship a secret from other people.' The usernames for Benally and the 16-year-old were obtained, and the Blanding Police Department filed a search warrant. Two days later, on June 6, the search warrant for the Instagram accounts was returned. In the messages, police located CSAM created of the teenage victim, as well as explicit sexual photos Benally sent to the victim of himself. Throughout the conversation, Benally repeatedly asked the victim for sexual photos and had explicit conversations with her. He also discussed the five times that they had met in person, and spoke about having illegal sexual relations with the minor during those times. On Aug. 12, an officer with the Blanding Police Department was 'able to locate Kerry [Benally] while he was driving.' The officer knew that Benally had a warrant for a previous incident, and was driving without a valid driver's license. Midvale man charged for alleged road rage incident where he hit victim's car, swung metal pole The Blanding Police officer arrested Benally and brought him to the San Juan County Jail. When they arrived, the officer began asking questions about his 'relationship' with the 16-year-old victim. Benally allegedly stated that he 'knew of her' and was 'talking to her a little bit' through Instagram. Through further questioning, Benally admitted that they had started talking in February, but claimed he stopped talking to her when he 'found out how old she was.' He also claimed she once told him she was 19. The 30-year-old told the officer that while she was at his family member's trailer, he had gone home and let her stay there alone. The officer told Benally that he had the messages between them and 'confronted him about lying.' Benally admitted that he knew the victim was 16 and that he had continued sending and receiving graphic sexual photos despite her age. Benally was booked into the San Juan County Jail, where he is currently being held without bail. Charges are allegations only.
