Lucha libre star Mr. Iguana is reportedly finalizing a deal with WWE, according to Fightful Select. The viral sensation is expected to sign with the company for future appearances.
This news follows his breakout performance at the recent Worlds Collide event. He also made a follow-up appearance on the latest episode of WWE NXT.
WWE And AAA
For decades, WWE and AAA operated in separate spheres with limited interaction. However, in April 2025, WWE announced the historic acquisition of AAA. This move marked a major expansion for WWE into the Latin American market and a new chapter for the family-operated lucha libre promotion.
The first major joint event, Worlds Collide, took place on June 7, 2025, featuring talent from both WWE and AAA. The event was a massive success, setting viewership records and earning praise for its blend of American sports entertainment and Mexican lucha libre styles.
Who Is Mr. Iguana?
Mr. Iguana is a Mexican luchador who made a name for himself in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. He debuted in 2009 and has become a popular star in his home country.

Details On The WWE Agreement
Reports indicate that Mr. Iguana and WWE are in the final stages of completing an agreement. This deal comes after his performance at Worlds Collide impressed company officials.
His recent appearance on NXT was a direct result of the positive reception from fans and personnel. The new deal will secure his services for more appearances going forward.
Confusion Over Main Roster Comments
There was some confusion regarding his immediate future with the company. Mr. Iguana stated in an interview that he was told he would be going directly to the main roster, bypassing NXT.
That interview was later edited, leading to questions about the comment's accuracy. However, reports confirmed he did initially make the statement.
It is not known if the comments created any internal issues with WWE management. His subsequent appearance on NXT suggests things are moving forward for him within the company. He could be used as a comedy figure going forward, something most would expect to see out of him.

Trick Williams and AJ Francis drop diss tracks on Mike Santana

It was a tough week for Mike Santana. He was screwed by First Class when challenging Trick Williams for the TNA Championship in NXT. Then, AJ Francis smashed a champagne bottle over Santana's head at Against All Odds. On top of that, Trick Williams and AJ Francis dropped diss tracks on him. Advertisement First up was from Tricky Will. Let's talk about it. Trick's best line dissing Santana was, 'I remember back then nobody rocked with Santana, then TNA decided just to lower their standards.' The song is kind of catchy for a wrestling tune. The music video also features Lash Legend and a line about her feeding Trick bananas in the cabana. Francis went in the lab for the remix. His trash talk for Santana was saved for the end, 'But you think just because you Puerto Rican that make you tough, like it's not endless Puerto Ricans in the morgue.' Francis' best lines were about his own career, 'I got over soon as I was true myself. Not being Top Dolla did not reduce my wealth. They would've rather I died on that top rope dive, but now my stock is top rope high.' Share your thoughts on the pair of diss tracks from Trick Williams and AJ Francis. Who did it better? Kevin Nash: Nobody Sells In Today's Pro Wrestling, They Register

WWE legend Kevin Nash feels like, nowadays, wrestlers don't really sell moves as much as they used to during his days. Instead, he says they 'register' moves in the ring. Speaking during a recent episode of Kliq This TV (via Wrestling Inc.), Nash said that there is a difference between 'selling' a move and 'registering' one. To Nash, the difference is major when performing in front of a live audience. Advertisement 'What I've I'm noticing more and more is nobody sells. Everybody registers,' Nash said. 'They register what's happening to them, but then it's a turnaround, and it's like, nobody sells. Registering is like this [a brief reaction], where selling is like, you're in trouble, you know? Like you're curling up in a ball.' Nash reflected on a past match with Diamond Dallas Page for an example as to what he meant. 'I can remember a specific time when I was working with Dallas, and I would do something.' said Nash. 'I'd cut him off, and I would just tell him, 'just sell till I come back to you.'' That doesn't mean everyone isn't doing this, though. Nash recently praised a match between AJ Styles and Finn Balor as one where both were performing well. Advertisement 'I thought that was an excellent match. I really enjoyed watching that…there was, there was times when they register and times when they sell.' Nash called Rhea Ripley one of the most impressive stars in today's wrestling scene. He also compared Ripley's aura to that of Hulk Hogan.
