Shah Rukh Khan needs no introduction. The Bollywood superstar enjoys a massive fan following around the world. It is not a secret that before stepping into the film industry, SRK worked on a few television shows, including the popular Fauji. However, do you know that King Khan was also discouraged from joining Bollywood?
In a recent interview, cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu recalled meeting Shah Rukh Khan in Lucknow before the actor even moved to Mumbai. 'Shah Rukh came up to me and said, 'Sir, I am a huge fan'. I told him, 'I watch you every day. We switch on the TV just to see you on Fauji and Circus'. He was very happy to hear that. Kapil Dev asked me who he was and I told him that he is the next star," Sidhu said, during a chat on Magic Moments' YouTube channel.
Navjot Singh Sidhu then revealed what happened when he asked SRK about his future plans. 'He said, Sir, I am going to Bollywood. I said, 'Teri mat maari gayi hai? (Have you lost your mind?)' I told him, 'You need parents there, you need someone who can support you. Your parents aren't there, you just told me'. He told me, 'Sidhu saab, I will manage'," Sidhu recalled.
However, when Shah Rukh told Sidhu about his plans of joining Bollywood, the cricketer asked him not to do it. 'I told him, 'there's cutthroat competition there. They will eat you like a sausage for breakfast'. That's the exact line I told him. He said 'Sidhu saab, can I say something?' He told me, 'I don't compete with anyone. I am my own competition'."
Navjot Singh Sidhu further praised Shah Rukh Khan and shared, 'He is a very polite man. He is just as polite today. Abhishek Bachchan came on our show. He said, 'He is the only guy who is not insecure'. Only those who are completely comfortable with themselves are not insecure."
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan will soon be seen alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan, in the movie King. The film will also star Abhay Verma in a key role.

Troll tells SRK to 'retire,' superstar fires back with hilarious 'tere sawaalon ka...' response

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 17 (ANI): Superstar Shah Rukh Khan once again proved why he is called the 'King of Wit' when he shut down a troll during his recent #AskSRK session on social media. On Saturday, the 59-year-old actor, who is preparing for Siddharth Anand's upcoming film 'King,' surprised his fans by interacting with them online after a long time. As always, the session was full of fun questions, heartfelt messages, and, of course, a few trolls trying their luck. During the session, one user attempted to taunt the actor about his age, asking him to "retire" and give space to younger actors. "Bhai, ab umar ho gayi, retirement le lo aur dusre bachche logon ko aage aane do. #AskSRK" (Brother, you've grown old now, consider retiring so that the new kids can move forward), the user tweeted. SRK, known for handling such moments with humour and class, gave a befitting reply that went viral in no time. He responded, "Bhai, tere sawaalon ka bachpana jab chala jaaye... Phir kuch acchha sa puchna! Tab tak, temporary retirement mein reh please." The witty comeback had fans cheering for their favourite star. Many praised him for his sense of humour, while others shared that Shah Rukh will "never retire from their hearts." One fan wrote, "There is no full stop in success, and there won't be. Work until you breathe." Another called him "the undisputed king" for handling criticism with such grace. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the shooting of 'King' has been paused due to SRK's shoulder injury. (ANI)

When Shah Rukh Khan said Archana Puran Singh's son had his hair; When Hrithik claimed his eyes

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Years ago, at a lively birthday celebration for Aryan Khan at Shah Rukh Khan 's iconic Mannat residence, Archana Puran Singh experienced a moment that would become one of her favourite anecdotes. As reported by NDTV, attending the party with her family, including her husband Parmeet Sethi and their young sons, Archana found herself in the middle of playful observations from two of Bollywood's biggest stars. Shah Rukh Khan wins his first National Award; celebs and fans celebrate the long-overdue honour 'His hair is exactly like mine' — Shah Rukh Khan Archana recalled that as soon as they arrived, Shah Rukh Khan met her son Ayushmann and immediately commented, 'His hair is exactly like mine.' Without another word, SRK moved on to greet other guests, leaving Parmeet Sethi shooting his wife a curious, almost suspicious glance. The light-hearted moment didn't end there. Moments later, Hrithik Roshan , also at the party, came up to Ayushmann, took a good look at him, and declared, 'His eyes are exactly like mine.' Cue another pointed stare from Parmeet. Family resemblance wins in the end Laughing as she retold the story to Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur, who were visiting her home during promotions for 'Son of Sardaar 2', Archana was quick to clarify that despite SRK's and Hrithik's observations, both her sons — Ayushmann and Aaryamann — actually resemble their father, Parmeet Sethi. 'They both look exactly like him,' she said, putting the playful speculation to rest. Mrunal Thakur, hearing the tale for the first time, was left in stitches, while Ajay Devgn smiled knowingly at the familiar mix of celebrity banter and family pride. Meanwhile, 'Son of Sardaar 2' received mixed reviews from the audiences. On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan's 'War 2' has hit the big screens and is doing a decentbox office performance.
