Putin unleashes huge onslaught of 500 missiles & drones in night of hell for Ukraine as Nato warplanes scrambled

VLADIMIR Putin has unleashed another night of hell over Ukraine with a 500 missile and drone onslaught.
Nato was forced to scramble its warplanes after the Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk was hit in an apocalyptic blast which turned the skies a crimson red overnight.

The city was attacked by Putin's forces with cruise missiles, hypersonic missiles, and Iranian-designed Shahed attack drones simultaneously.
Four Kinzhal and seven Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were also fired at Ukraine.
Putin ordered his Tu-95 strategic bombers and MiG aircraft to carry out the heinous air assaults.
It was the most powerful blitz on the city since the start of the war back in 2022.
Ukraine claimed to have downed 475 out of 537 aerial targets.
Poland's operational command quickly announced that Nato fighter jets were scrambled because of the intensity of the Russian onslaught.
They said in a statement: "Due to the attack by the Russian Federation carrying out strikes on objects located in the territory of Ukraine, Polish and allied aviation has begun operating in our airspace.
"The Operational Commander of the [armed forces] has activated all available forces and resources at his disposal.
"The on-duty fighter pairs have been scrambled, and the ground-based air defence and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest state of readiness.
"The steps taken are aimed at ensuring security in the areas bordering the threatened areas."
Putin also mounted attacks across much of Ukraine in what is reported to be one of the heaviest bombardments of the three year conflict so far.
A missile strike on Zaporizhzhia left an industrial facility on fire.
Mykolaiv and Donetsk region were also both badly hit.
The Russians targeted Lviv in western Ukraine as well.
Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said Russian forces attempted to strike critical infrastructure, but no civilians or residential buildings were damaged.
A Ukrainian F-16 supersonic fighter supplied by the West was shot down with the loss of a 'hero' pilot amid a desperate operation to counter 500-plus strikes by Vladimir Putin's forces.
Pilot Lt-Col Maksym Ustimenko, born in 1993, shot down seven air targets using all his weapons before he was hit.
'The pilot used the entire complex of on-board weapons, and shot down seven air targets,' said the Ukrainian air force.
'During the last exercise, his plane was damaged and began to lose altitude.
'Maksym Ustimenko did everything possible, took the plane away from a settlement, but did not have time to eject...
'He died like a Hero!'

What happened the one and only time Zelensky and Putin met?

Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky may soon meet Russian president Vladimir Putin again, for the first time since 2019. A summit in Paris six years ago was the first and only time the two presidents ever met, flanked by French president Emmanuel Macron and Germany's then-chancellor Angela Merkel. At the time, Putin and Zelensky were looking to hash out a ceasefire deal for war in Donbas in Ukraine's east, where Russia-backed forces were fighting Ukrainian troops. The two world leaders are now potentially set for another meeting as part of US president Donald Trump's bid to end the devastating Ukraine war. However, this is far from set in stone with Putin's initial suggestion that it could take place in Moscow quickly rejected by the Ukrainian president. What happened in 2019? Ukrainian forces and Russian separatists had been embroiled in conflict in Donbas, in Ukraine's east, since 2014. Zelensky and Putin travelled to Paris in December 2019 for the Normandy Format Summit, a diplomatic forum designed by French, German, Russian and Ukrainian diplomats after the outbreak of conflict. The Ukrainian president had been elected just months earlier in spring that year - his first role in political office - beating former foreign minister Petro Poroshenko to the presidency. The summit in Paris led to progress, but was not groundbreaking. The two sides agreed to implement 'all necessary ceasefire support measures' before the end of 2019 and to release all the prisoners of war. Both sides also expressed their desire to implement the Minsk agreements signed in 2014 and 2015, the first attempt to achieve a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia after Putin's forces rolled into and took over the Crimean peninsula. What did the leaders say about each other? The mood between the pair was chilly at first. There was no public handshake and they are said to have largely avoided eye contact during the meeting. Clean shaven and sporting a suit, 2019 Zelensky cut a strikingly different figure compared to his more familiar appearance now as a war-time leader. After the summit, Putin hailed the talks as an 'important step' towards de-escalation. He expressed what at the time appeared to be cautious hope: "All this gives us the grounds to suppose that the process is developing in the right direction.' Zelensky also hailed the meeting as a 'big step towards peace'. When he was asked by reporters who he believed had emerged victorious from the exchanges with his Russian counterpart, he said: "I don't know who (beat) who. I think it would be appropriate to be diplomatic as we've just started talking. Let's say for now it's a draw." What happened afterwards? Despite a number of prisoner exchanges, the 2019 meeting was not a catalyst for any major long-term change in Russo-Ukrainian relations - and little over two years later Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Several key sticking points remained after the 2019 negotiations. Kyiv continued to demand the withdrawal of Russian-backed troops and a complete ceasefire, with a return of border control to Ukraine. Russia insisted that before Ukraine regained control of its eastern border, local elections should be held in the occupied territories. Putin also demanded that Donbas have a special constitutional status in Ukraine, to give it a degree of autonomy. In January 2022, just weeks before the full-scale Russian invasion, the summit in Paris took place again, but was attended by officials from the same four countries, rather than their leaders. Senior diplomats met in February 2022 in an attempt to prevent a conflict. After the Russian invasion on 24 February, Zelensky said the invasion had 'ruined' the progress made by the Normandy Format.

War-torn Ukraine's Zelensky reacts as Trump calls DC ‘the most unsafe place anywhere'

The president of war-torn Ukraine looked shocked when Donald Trump described Washington DC as 'the most unsafe place anywhere' during a meeting at the White House. Volodymyr Zelensky was in the Oval Office for talks about bringing an end to Russia's brutal invasion of his country which has seen civilians bombed on a near-daily basis. During questions from the press, President Trump began discussing his federal takeover of the capital which he described as 'the most unsafe place anywhere' before his unprecedented deployment of the National Guard. Zelensky looked surprised and shocked by Trump's words as the Commander-in-Chief began telling a story about a friend whose golfer son now felt 'safe' to go out for dinner. Trump went on to claim restaurants are now booming thanks to his actions. Statistics show restaurants have suffered as much as a 30% drop since troops were deployed.

Is THIS Putin's secret teen lover? Despot had sordid trysts with calendar girl fan who was just 17, bombshell book says

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RUSSIAN despot Vladimir Putin seduced a 17-year-old girl who "posed in an erotic calendar to boost his voter appeal", according to a new book. The explosive claims come in "The Tsar in Person. How Vladimir Putin Fooled Us All", a freshly published tome by journalists Roman Badanin and Mikhail Rubin. 5 Putin a relationship with the 17-year-old at a time when he was married to his then wife Credit: East2West 5 Putin would have been marking his 58th birthday when he encountered Alisa Kharcheva Credit: AFP 5 Rumours around Putin's relationship with Alisa have been reported before Credit: AFP - Getty 5 Putin would have been marking his 58th birthday when he encountered Alisa Kharcheva, then 17. She was pictured illustrating the month of April in an "erotic calendar" as a "gift" to Putin by students at Moscow State University. But the calendar was actually a paid-for stunt from his PR machine to promote his macho image ahead of Russia's 2012 presidential election. This is the election that saw him return to the presidency after a four year stint as prime minister. "In reality, along with the calendar, Putin also received the contact details of the girls who appeared in it," according to the book. "His choice fell on one - 17-year-old Alisa Kharcheva, a native of Korolyov, a town near Moscow, where she had already taken part in small beauty contests." Rumours around Putin's relationship with Alisa have been reported before, but the book offers fresh details that claim to confirm it. This would mean Putin a relationship with her at a time when he was married to his then wife Lyudmila. He was also having a secret affair with gymnast lover Alina Kabaeva, 42, which reportedly began around 2007. Kabaeva would later give birth to two of the dictator's sons. Putin's lookalike 'secret son' Ivan follows in gymnast mum's footsteps "Four people familiar with the story told us that soon after [the calendar was published], Putin's aides called Kharcheva and invited her to the president's suburban residence," the book says. "After her first visit, the young beauty was taken to see the president about once every two weeks for the course of a year, according to one source." Three months after Putin's birthday, Alisa appeared on TV show 'Ten Million'. She dismissed comments about her age and the calendar was 'within the limits of what is permissible". "He [Putin] liked it very much. His press secretary said that he liked it," she said. A source told the authors: "For each meeting between Putin and Alisa we would prepare some sort of project, for her to present to Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin]. "Alisa did this willingly. She felt grateful that she had been introduced to the president." But it adds: "What went on in the Kremlin's alcoves between a 58-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl only they know." She also reportedly was granted a place at the prestigious Moscow's Institute of International Relations as "a reward from Putin". When Putin's interest in her began to wane, she published a photo on her social media titled Pussy for Putin to mark his 60th birthday. "Kharcheva did indeed appear with a black kitten, but what caught the eye much more was the plunging neckline of her red dress," said the book. But Putin was apparently met with disapproval from Putin himself. The book reads: "Very soon, Kharcheva deleted the post, as well as removing all her old photographs from public access. "Neither she nor Putin's press service ever commented on this photo shoot." She later acquired an expensive apartment in a prestigious district of Moscow. Now 32 and married, Alisa previously denied the luxury flat was security for her by Putin. "No one has ever asked me such stupid questions," she said, claiming she paid for the mortgage.
