Two puppies from Michigan are competing for a roster spot in this year's Puppy Bowl:
Rory — Team Fluff from the Big Lake Humane Society in Muskegon.
Trixie — Team Fluff from the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society in Harbor Springs.
All of the dogs can be adopted. Many are already adopted by the time the show airs, however, thanks to their cuteness level. Even the Puppy Bowl crew occasionally grabs a few.
"We're transparent about that. Our goal is to find them their forever home," one-time NFL referee and current 14-year Puppy Bowl judge Dan Schachner told USA Today last year.

Reed Blankenship Sounds Off on Eagles Coach
Reed Blankenship Sounds Off on Eagles Coach originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The impact that defensive coordinator Vic Fangio had on the Philadelphia Eagles last season was apparent from the very first practice. Advertisement Fangio's brutal honesty and no-nonsense approach quickly won over the young Eagles defense. The fact that they were able to finish at the top of the league in most categories showed how perfect a match he was for the current roster. Their dominance in Super Bowl LIX was the capper on a brilliant campaign. As the organization prepares for their title defense, the defense has gotten even younger than they were last season. Veteran stars like Darius Slay and James Bradberry have departed the organization for cheaper and younger options. Philadelphia's unit doesn't expect to skip a beat with Fangio coaching them, though. Advertisement "Whatever was said in Miami, that's their locker room. Our locker room is completely different," Eagles safety Reed Blankenship said. "We've got guys that like to be coached and like to be held accountable and obviously that shows on the field. "We're a young group, but we understand if we want to win the big things we've got to be coached hard." The Eagles are perceived across the NFL as boasting a loaded roster and no doubt still have plenty of All-Pro and Pro Bowl talent across each level of their defense. With a coach in Fangio that focuses on teaching, there's no telling how good this group can be in 2025. And Blankenship, taking on more of a leadership role this season, sees exactly that for the Eagles defense. Nick Wright Sounds Off on Shocking Jalen Hurts Ranking
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Since taking over as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts has emerged as one of the best players at the position. Fresh off leading the franchise to just its second Super Bowl victory, one NFL analyst was left stunned to see where he was ranked among his peers. Every year, former NFL quarterback Chris Simms puts together a ranking of the top QBs in the league. In his latest installment, Hurts finds himself on the back end of the top ten. The reigning Super Bowl MVP was slotted in at No. 10 behind players such as Baker Mayfield, Justin Herbert, and C.J. Stroud. "He brings a skillset to [the Eagles] offense that makes them almost indefensible with all the talent they have," Simms said. Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels, and Matthew Stafford headline first batch of top ten rankings of @CSimmsQB's Quarterback Countdown, now on Chris Simms Unbuttoned and Pro Football Talk More: — NBC Sports PR (@NBCSportsPR) June 9, 2025 As expected, Simms latest QB rankings sparked debates among numerous fans and analysts. Among those to chime in with their thoughts was Nick Wright. While on FS1's First Things First, he sounded off on Simms for having Hurts so low on his latest list. "Chris Simms, if you happen to run in to mamma Hurts she's going to give you a piece of her mind," Wright said. "Having Jalen Hurts behind Justin Herbert, it's really one of things where it tells me a lot about the evaluator...I just don't know how you can say he's better than Jalen Hurts." Chris Simms ranks Jalen Hurts #10 in his 2025 QB rankings. @getnickwright reacts: 'I just don't know how you can say [Justin Herbert] is better than Jalen Hurts. That one ranking seems to me to be indefensible other than, 'eh, I just know.'' — First Things First (@FTFonFS1) June 10, 2025 On paper, Herbert has the flashier numbers. However, the proper context is needed. Hurts' passing numbers took a slight dip, but Saquon Barkley had a lot to do with that. Seeing that he put together a historic season on the ground, the Eagles had a more run-heavy attack. Nonetheless, Hurts still threw for over 2,900 yards and 18 touchdowns to just five interceptions. That's not even counting his own impact on the ground, rushing for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns. Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles looks to the sideline during Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome on February 9, 2025. Jalen Hurts #1 of the Philadelphia Eagles looks to the sideline during Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome on February 9, passing numbers look better, throwing for 3,870 yards and 23 touchdowns. That said, when combining scores in the air and on the ground, Hurts found the end zone more. It's also worth noting that Hurts leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl should have him at least a few spots higher on Simms' list. Wright clearly disagrees with Hurts being placed so low, but the Eagles star likely isn't fazed by it. Instead, it's something he'll use as a motivation as he looks to lead Philadelphia on another title run. Between his regular season and playoff success, along with his dynamic skill set, it's hard to argue that there are nine QBs better than Hurts right now.

Injuries Cloud Eagles' Minicamp Outlook as Linebacker Depth Cotinues To Be Growing Concern
Injuries Cloud Eagles' Minicamp Outlook as Linebacker Depth Cotinues To Be Growing Concern originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles wrap up their spring practice sessions, several key players remain sidelined with injuries that will impact their availability for July minicamp. The reigning champions face significant depth concerns at linebacker, while other positions show more promising recovery timelines. Advertisement LB Nakobe Dean (torn patellar tendon): Dean's recovery from the injury suffered during the wild-card victory over Green Bay continues to progress slowly. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio delivered sobering news this week, stating that Dean 'won't be back anytime soon' and 'won't be back for a while.' The third-year linebacker, who was having a breakout season before the injury, has incorporated ballet training into his rehab to improve flexibility and mobility. Dean shed his crutches just three weeks after surgery, but full recovery from a patellar tendon tear typically requires eight to 12 months. With his surgery taking place in January, participation in July minicamp is extremely unlikely. Late July training camp represents his earliest possible return. LB Jihaad Campbell (shoulder surgery): The Eagles' first-round pick will definitively miss July minicamp as he continues to recover from March surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Fangio confirmed that Campbell 'won't hit the practice field until sometime in August,' meaning the rookie will miss all spring and summer sessions. Though he remains active in meetings and walkthroughs, Campbell's health remains a concern. Reports indicate the Alabama product will eventually require surgery on his other shoulder and may have underlying knee issues. Despite this, the Eagles remain confident in his long-term upside. C Cam Jurgens (back procedure): Jurgens, who recently signed a four-year, $68 million extension, presents a far more optimistic outlook. The newly extended center played through significant back pain during the postseason before undergoing an offseason procedure to address nerve discomfort. He's expected to be fully available for minicamp and training camp, reinforcing the team's confidence in his recovery and value. EDGE Nolan Smith (triceps): Smith's recovery from the triceps tear suffered in Super Bowl LIX is progressing on schedule. The second-year edge rusher has been a limited participant in OTAs and is expected to be cleared for full action by July minicamp, if not sooner. Advertisement FB Ben VanSumeren (knee): VanSumeren, who missed the Eagles' first media-attended OTA session, returned to action June 4. He previously stated he would be ready for training camp, and signs point to him being available for July's minicamp. Of all the injury concerns, linebacker represents the most pressing issue heading into the summer. With Dean and Campbell sidelined, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. has received first-team reps next to Zack Baun throughout OTAs. While this opens the door for younger players to step up, it also highlights the team's thin depth at a crucial position. The Eagles are the only NFL team holding just one mandatory minicamp practice this year, potentially a reward for their Super Bowl run. That limited time on the field makes the health of key contributors even more critical as Philadelphia prepares for another title defense. Training camp in late July will provide the next major checkpoint to determine which injured players are ready to contribute to the Eagles' repeat aspirations.
