Army's tweet including Shaheen Missile catches attention, Pakistan MFA denies use
NEW DELHI: A tweet by Army's Western Command with a video containing the picture of Pakistan's Shaheen nuclear missile on Sunday night caught attention and went viral.
The video shared on the official account @westerncomd_IA showed Shaheen as an option among the missiles used against India. But the tweet was subsequently deleted and the sources confirmed that "it was a file footage, used for representational purposes" and people had forgot to put that point in message.
The video was put to highlight Operation Sindoor which India launched on May 7 to destroy the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). It was in response to the killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam on April 22.
'Enemy Missiles neutralised. #IndianArmy - impregnable wall of fire,' the Chandimandir based Western Command had put up in its post.
The video of the Western Command further showcased the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, the Smerch and Pinaka multi-launch rocket systems, among the others, as an option opted by the Indian Armed Forces.
While the post was deleted on Monday but by then the video went viral on 'X'.
Shaheen is a series of Ballistic Missile of Pakistan which can be nuclear tipped.
The speculations also included that a Pakistani Shaheen nuclear-capable Shaheen ballistic missile fired on India was shot down by a S-400 air defence system
The Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affair came up with a response on Monday and rejected the speculation as 'unfounded allegations'.

BJP slams West Bengal govt. over arrest of influencer, calls action ‘selective enforcement'
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday (June 1, 2025) slammed the West Bengal government over the arrest of influencer Sharmishta Panoli, accusing the Trinamool Congress dispensation of targeting the 'young Hindu woman' to appease its vote bank. According to sources, the West Bengal Police arrested 22-year-old Panoli from Haryana's Gurugram on Friday night for allegedly uploading a video with communal comments claiming Bollywood actors were silent on Operation Sindoor. On Saturday, a court in Kolkata sent Ms. Panoli to judicial custody till June 13. The Instagram influencer has been booked on the charges of promoting enmity between different groups, engaging in malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings, apart from intentional insult to provoke breach of peace. From putting the country on the path of economic progress to lifting 25 crore people above the poverty line, the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership has taken various measures for the welfare of all sections of society, drawing inspiration from former Jan Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyaya's idea of integral humanism, said Union Minister and BJP president J.P. Nadda here on Sunday. Mr. Nadda was delivering the valedictory address at a two-day conference on the completion of 60 years of Upadhyaya's ideological formulation of integral humanism. Mr Nadda said Upadhyaya had felt that 'a vast country like India cannot be governed successfully through a centralised system but rather through a decentralised one'. Welfare goals He added that the development of the last man in the queue was fundamental to the concept of integral humanism, and this was reflected in the welfare policies undertaken by the Modi government. 'The Modi government has empowered women, farmers and marginalised sections of society by taking various measures for them, while others only talked about doing so,' he said, mounting a veiled attack on the Congress and other Opposition parties.
