Major game enjoyed by 15 million players shutting down in DAYS as baffled fans told it ‘will no longer be available'
A GAME enjoyed by more than 15million people at its peak is preparing to bow out in just a couple of weeks.
Developers have warned players that the title "will no longer be available to play" on May 29, six years after its successful launch.

Dauntless burst onto the scene with largely positive reviews and quickly gained users.
The free-to-play action role-playing game was available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch and PC.
"Dauntless is shutting down on May 29, 2025," Phoenix Labs said.
"Dauntless will receive no additional content or updates.
"The game will no longer be available to play on May 29, 2025."
In a separate post on the game's website, the firm said: "We've made the difficult decision to shut down Dauntless due to the negative public reception of TK and subsequent decline of active players."
Despite starting off successfully, players say that changes in ownership of the company behind it "ruined the game".
"The game is nothing like I remember it when it first launched," one person wrote on Reddit.
"They literally killed their own game," another commented.
"At this point I feel like it was on purpose."

A third raged: "I hate to see the game die, I loved it for years, but the company that bought the game forcefully turned it into a mtx hellscape and they deserve to have it crash and fail.
"I hope the excellent devs that did the work can find new work quickly."

Online games are routinely shut down as user numbers drop.
This is because it becomes no longer viable to run the servers that host the games.

WHY DO GAMES CLOSE?

With most games online these days, tech companies need to maintain quite hefty servers to manage everything.
It's no cheap business to operate with millions of gamers across the world.
Naturally, people move on, leaving older games behind in the process.
There comes a point where it's no longer viable to continue offering server access so studios shut them down.
For some games that are entirely online this can render it completely useless.
But others may have a way for you to continue playing solo still.
You should usually see a prominent notification in the game warning you with instructions on what to do - provided you're still playing the game of course.

Wild video of Washington woman digging for seafood delicacy goes viral
A Washington woman has gone viral after being filmed almost completely submerged underwater while digging for a seafood delicacy. Amber Fauci, an Arizona native, dove head first into the sand during her first ever time hunting for geoduck clams. In a video demonstrating the process, Fauci is seen struggling to pull herself out of the hole in her attempt to catch the saltwater clam. Geoduck clams are the world's largest burrowing clam, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. On average, they reach just over two to two-and-a-half pounds - including the shell, and can live up to 150 years. The woman recording the video, Michelle Weaver, told Fox 13 that it's important to remain still and stay vigilant for water shooting out of the sand. 'So we dug out quite a bit of sand first, and you get to that point where you gotta reach deeper - and I'm short. I am five-foot-one, so I don't have really long arms, so I'm in there, and I saw that opportunity,' Fauci told the outlet. 'Anybody who's gotten their feet stuck [in the sand] knows how far it suctions you down. 'So I'm sitting there trying to pull myself up from the sand, and that's the struggle everybody thought was, "Oh my gosh, she's stuck." I wasn't stuck,' Fauci continued. 'But I knew the tide was coming up, and that's when I decided to come up. It was when the tide hit my nose. I didn't feel like holding my breath, so that was when I started struggling to come up.' Fauci emerged up, sand and water over her hand, before fellow diver, Tyler Weaver, grabbed the geoduck and pulled it from the sand near the end of the video. He said that after digging three to four feet deep, a geoduck diver has to move quickly before it gets away. They used a 'geoduck gun' that has been in Tyler's family for three generations of his family, the outlet reported. Michelle described the device as a 'glorified soup pot that has no bottom, that clearly can fit an entire human in it.' 'That helps from the water - from the tide coming in, or the sand falling in while you're trying to dig, because there's nothing like digging and then a whole pile of sand lands right where you just dug,' she said. Comments on the viral video were stunned by Fauci's dedicated hunting attempt. 'I'm sorry WHAT ma'am did you almost drown for a [geoduck]?' one said. 'Her moving around was scaring me like I was thinking she needed help and I'm like WHY ARE STANDING AROUND LAUGHING AT HER GET HER OUTTT but she good,' another said. One wrote: 'I didn't see the tube at first and thought she was just stuck in the sand and water. Didn't understand why everyone was so chill.' After their hunting efforts proved successful, the group took the geoducks and celebrated with clam and geoduck chowder. Michelle described Fauci as a 'legit badass' for her 'geoduck digging dedication.'

Meghan to speak as guest of honour at LA museum's Night of Wonder
The Duchess of Sussex will speak as the guest of honour at a museum's Night of Wonder in the US, as part of her work championing community wellbeing. Meghan will be joined by other high-profile guests at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, as the space is transformed into an enchanted nocturnal garden on June 14. The event will feature live music and installations representing local ecosystems and the LA landscape, and guests will be treated to a farm-to-table dinner that uses ingredients from the museum's nature gardens. The duchess's mission to advance community wellbeing and uplift young women 'dovetails with the museums' approach to connecting community and science by fostering meaningful educational experiences that empower young minds', the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan said. Among the programmes shared on the website of their charity, the Archewell Foundation, is The Welcome Project, where Meghan focuses on addressing 'the social isolation recently resettled women experience around the world and building more inclusive and connected communities'. The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC) hold one of the biggest and most valuable collections of natural and cultural history in the world, with more than 35 million objects. Their collections are used for ground-breaking scientific and historical research and in a range of community science programmes, including creating indoor-outdoor visitor experiences. NHMLAC's president and director Lori Bettison-Varga said: 'We are proud to honour Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity, especially for underserved communities, aligns with our equity-focused approach to developing science literacy for the next generation, including through our Stem and Steam Pathways programmes.' Meghan and Harry, who celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary last month, live in the US with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after stepping away from the working monarchy.
