A miscreant approached him from behind and snatched his mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
As per GRP, the victim, Brijesh Shakya, 39, a resident of JP Narayan Ward No. 14 in Berasia, arrived at the Bhopal Railway Station with his family to board a train to Ujjain. After buying a general ticket at the counter, he was walking toward the platform when an unidentified man snatched his mobile phone, valued at Rs15,000, from his hand.

Three, including two nuns, held for human trafficking in Chhattisgarh
RAIPUR: Three persons, including two Catholic nuns who had reportedly come from Agra, were arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Durg on Friday for alleged human trafficking amid suspicion of coerced religious conversion. They were remanded to 14-day judicial custody, a police officer said. The trio were booked under BNS Section 143 (trafficking of persons). All three were caught accompanying three young women aged between 18 and 20 years, hailing from Narayanpur district in south Bastar, after Bajrang Dal activists spotted them at Durg railway station. The group was allegedly preparing to travel to Agra for training and subsequent employment opportunities. Bajrang Dal members staged demonstrations at the Durg GRP police station demanding strict action against those allegedly involved in human trafficking and forced religious conversion. 'The nuns had come to Durg merely a day before without any valid reason. They were about to board a train along with the rescued girls to Agra when we spotted them,' said Ravi Nigam, a Bajrang Dal leader. Members of the Christian community also gathered at the GRP Durg station and were seen defending the nuns. The two nuns — Preeti Marry and Vandana Francis — who had come from Agra, along with Sukhman Mandavi from Narayanpur, were produced before a local court in Durg and remanded to 14-day judicial custody. The rescued girls have been sent to the Sakhi One Stop Centre in Durg. Meanwhile, Congress MP K C Venugopal has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai seeking stringent action against the perpetrators. He also urged the government to uphold constitutional rights and religious freedom in the state. The Congress leader alleged that BJP-ruled states are witnessing a rampant rise in attacks on minorities. 'The latest attacks by Bajrang Dal goons on two Catholic nuns in Durg, Chhattisgarh, point to a tacit support for such hate crimes from the ruling establishment,' Venugopal wrote on X.

Police arrest main accused in abduction & extortion case
Nashik: The city police have arrested Shakir Nasir Pathan, also known as Motha Pathan (35), the alleged mastermind behind the abduction and extortion of a businessman earlier this year in April. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The incident, which occurred on April 4, involved the abduction of businessman Nikhil Daryani from near Kathe Galli in Dwarka area of the city. The suspects subsequently extorted Rs15 lakh from Daryani's brother just a couple of hours later. Daryani was reportedly moved between two different cars during his ordeal. He, however, managed a dramatic escape when the abductors stopped near a car showroom at the Pathardi Phata link road where he opened the door and ran into the showroom. Following his escape, Daryani contacted his brother, leading to an FIR being registered against six individuals at the Mumbai Naka police station. While the other five suspects in the case were previously arrested, Pathan had remained at large. A fortnight ago, the anti-gunda squad of the city police received intelligence that Pathan had moved to the Konkan region from Lonavla. After extensive searches in Pune, Lonavla, and Konkan, police gathered crucial information about the car being used by Pathan and his residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, ultimately leading to his arrest. When a team went to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, they received information that Pathan had moved between Sambhajinagar, Chalisgaon, and Malegaon. In a trap laid in Chalisgaon, the police finally managed to trace him and arrested him early on Sunday. He was using the same car that was used for committing the offence. The Mumbai Naka police are investigating the case.
