'It's going to be long…': Shoaib Ibrahim reveals Dipika Kakar's health update, seeks support from fans
In the glamorous world of showbiz, many actors come and go, but there are rarely a few who remain etched in the hearts of millions with not just their strong performances and iconic roles, but also the emotional connection with their audiences that spreads beyond the characters they play online.
One such tale is of an actress who quickly rose to fame and became a fan favourite with a famous soap opera, and then reality shows and now her daily vlogs that give sneak peeks of her personal life. The actress we are talking about is none other than Dipika Kakkar. From her portrayal of Simar in 'Sasural Simran ka', she became a household name. Later, she also appeared in many reality shows like Nach Baliye, Master Chef, and Bigg Boss. Dipika holds a special place in the heart of her audience because of her authenticity and resilience, with a lot of her fans not just considering her a television star but also a family member.
However, recently in a turn of events that not only shocked her fans but also left them worried for Dipika. Dipika Kakar's husband recently revealed in one of their vlogs that the sassural simar ka actress has been diagnosed with a tennis ball-sized tumour in her liver. He also revealed that she has been suffering from stage 2 cancer, but despite this, the actress is optimistic and has only been looking for a positive outcome.
Shoaib Ibrahim, on the other hand, has been keeping her fans updated. In a recent post, he revealed that Dipika's surgery is scheduled for June 03, 2025. He also shared that the surgery will be long and her fans should wish for her speedy recovery. Requesting everyone to pray for her, he wrote, 'Dippi's surgery is scheduled to happen tomorrow morning. It's going to be a long surgery… she needs all your prayers & strength the most … Please keep her in your prayers.'
Dipika Kakar was previously supposed to undergo an operation soon after her liver tumour diagnosis in May 2025; however, after she stopped breastfeeding her son, Ruhaan, she experienced immense pain, fever and flu. She was also admitted to the hospital for the same, but later she recovered from that and came back home.
After Dipika Kakar was diagnosed with a tumour in her liver, several tests were done to clarify if it was cancerous or not. The initial tests revealed that it wasn't cancerous, but later tests confirmed otherwise. The actress shared that this illness is a 'scary' term for people, patients and their families. However, her doctors revealed that her illness is in its early stages and can be cured easily. Sharing an update about their 2-year-old son, Ruhaan, the actress said:
'Mumma theek nahi hai, wo samajh gaya hai. Ek aadh baar din me aake wo bolta hai mujhe, par wo samajh gaya hai. But yes, sab log hain. So, we are staying strong.'
Dipika Kakar, who rose to fame by playing the titular role of 'Simar' in Sasural Simar Ka, had earlier shared a note on her Instagram handle to update fans about her cancer diagnosis. The actress explained how the past few days following her liver tumour diagnosis were difficult for her and her family. She further mentioned that more tests confirmed that the tumour was second-stage malignant cancerous. However, Dipika stated that she was optimistic and determined to face the situation.
