Before boarding the bus, which will be touring the suburb, Bavuma shared that he hopes Friday's event will inspire more children from Langa and neighbouring communities to pursue their sporting ambitions.
"I think for these kids, you know it will be different for them - they see someone that looks like them, they see other players as well that they get to watch on TV, now they get to see them live, they get to see that these people are just like them. It really goes a long way in believing in whatever dreams and aspirations that they have."

The big fast bowler snaring 36 wickets at 29.78 and in the process became the fifth South African bowler to join the 300-wicket club in Tests. His strike rate of 39.2, is the best among all the world's bowlers who have achieved this milestone. Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj has also been nominated in both categories along with batter Ryan Rickleton. Maharaj was even more prolific than Rabada, claiming 40 Test wickets at 20.57, while Rickelton enjoyed a stellar breakout season. After being promoted to open the innings, the left-hander enjoyed a spectacular home summer with maiden Test century against Sri Lanka in Gqeberha before striking a 'big-daddy hundred' with a career-best 259 in the New Year Test against Pakistan at Newlands. Proteas wicket-keeper Kyle Verreynne, who would go on to hit the winning runs in the WTC Final at Lord's, has also been nominated in the Test Cricketer of the Year category. AB de Villiers and the legends have a date with Australia
The Proteas might not be in action at the moment, but that doesn't mean there's not plenty of cricket going on all over the world. Cricket fans have a large menu to pick from in the coming days, with a number of intriguing matches taking place in various places across the globe. The Proteas are next in action in white-ball cricket in Australia in a few weeks' time but that doesn't mean there isn't something on offer for those who want to have a punt. In fact, there is so much cricket happening all around the world almost every day that fans always have something to watch and follow. On Wednesday in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and New Zealand get the first of their two Tests under way with the visitors the hot favourites to win that one at 1.12 for the win, according to Betway. A more lucrative option is backing Zimbabwe to shock the tourists, at 8.00 for the win. A draw is at 14.50. On Thursday, the South African legends team take on their Australia counterparts in the semi-finals of the World Championship with AB de Villiers and his team the favourites at 1.70 for the win, while Australia are at 2.10. The winner will advance to the final for a meeting with either Pakistan or India. De Villiers, the former Proteas captain, is the leading run scorer at the tournament with 303 runs. This includes two centuries. The next best run-getter is Ravi Bopara of England, with 177 runs. On Friday, the West Indies host Pakistan in the first T20 of their series and somewhat surprisingly the hosts are favourites to win the first game, at 1.75, while Pakistan are at 2.10. All Betway odds are correct at time of publishing and subject to change.

RANKED: Top 5 best Proteas openers of all time
The Proteas have produced some of the best opening batsmen in the world over the past 30 years across different formats. In modern cricket, an opening batsman is expected to be aggressive, with a strike rate of over 100 to be considered effective. An opener with a strike rate of 140 and an average of 35 or 40 in One Day Internationals (ODIs) is regarded as exceptional, especially compared to one with an average of 45 and a strike rate under 100. While runs are crucial for any batter, an opener's primary responsibility is to provide a solid start for the team, allowing the middle order to bat without pressure. gibbs Over the past three decades, the Proteas have showcased outstanding openers. Some were big hitters, while others built innings and accumulated significant scores. Players like Temba Bavuma and Boeta Dippenaar have averaged over 40 in ODIs, but they are not necessarily considered big hitters or great opening batsmen. Their ODI careers have perhaps been underrated due to their lower strike rates. Quinton de Kock If the 32-year-old wicketkeeper had not retired from international cricket, he would likely be closing in on 10,000 ODI runs by now. De Kock is an explosive opener who often dismantled any bowling attack to help South Africa gain a commanding position. Whether chasing a target or batting first, the Johannesburg-born cricketer was unstoppable when in form. Herschelle Gibbs Many fans remember Gibbs for being the first player to hit six sixes in an over in 2007. As an opener, this talented batsman scored over 20 centuries during his 15-year international career. His remarkable 175 against Australia remains one of the most memorable innings by a South African batsman in ODI history. Gary Kirsten Although not the flashiest of batsmen, Kirsten is regarded as one of the finest openers in world cricket, having played almost 300 international matches in this role. His 188 against the United Arab Emirates is still the highest score for a South African batsman in ODI cricket. Hashim Amla The 'Mighty Hash' formed a formidable opening partnership with Quinton de Kock from 2013 to 2019, contributing significantly to the Proteas' success. In that period, Amla scored 27 centuries and maintained an average of 49. He is undoubtedly one of the most underrated openers the Proteas have had. Graeme Smith Smith was an exceptional captain for South Africa across all formats; however, his ODI career was not as impressive as his Test career. In nearly 200 ODIs, the former skipper crossed double figures only 10 times. While his strike rate and average of 38 did not capture the spotlight, he still remains one of the best openers the Proteas have produced.
