Rain on the way with warmer temps

Yahoo27-03-2025

(WJW) — A 'GET OUTSIDE ALERT' will be in effect Thursday afternoon! Thursday looks like it is going to be the nicest day this week.
Temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 50s Thursday afternoon, which is about 5 degrees above normal. Despite increasing clouds, Thursday afternoon and evening is going to be mostly dry.

A sprinkle or light rain showers cannot be ruled out, though.
Thursday night is going to be mostly cloudy, with overnight lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
The chance of rain will increase on Friday as a warm front lifts north across Northeast Ohio. Rain showers and a few rumbles of thunder will lift from southwest to northeast across the area Friday morning into Friday afternoon. The rain showers will taper off Friday evening.
Temperatures will top out near or just above 60 degrees degrees late Friday afternoon/early Friday evening.
A surge of warm air will follow the warm front. Saturday is going to be a warm spring day, with highs in the lower 70s. Saturday is also going to be windy and mostly dry. The chance of rain on Saturday looks low, but not zero.
A strong storm system and cold front will bring in multiple rounds of rain Saturday night through Sunday night. A few stronger storms will be possible Sunday through Sunday night. However, clouds and rain could keep the atmosphere relatively stable. Plus, the storms could come in late Sunday/Sunday night, well after peak heating, which could be another limiting factor for strong storm development.
Here's a look at potential rainfall totals Friday through Sunday.
After this weekend spring fling, it will get much cooler next week.

Shift in the Jet Stream

After waves of severe storms and heavy rainfall this month, the Jet Stream is shifting after the latest rounds of storms moved out of our State last night. Going forward, at least for now, the Jet Stream is de-energized some. A 'weakness' in the flow, kind of an 'echo' of storms Monday and Tuesday of this week in Texas will move up over our State Wednesday and Thursday. There is a chance of rain and a few storms but rainfall totals will not be nearly as heavy. Mike June 9th, 2025 Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Storm Team 3: More storms likely Tuesday, isolated severe storms possible

The Coastal Empire and Lowcountry will remain in an unsettled weather pattern for much of the new workweek. Scattered showers and storms are likely Tuesday with a chance that there may be a few strong to severe storms. Tuesday will begin with a few passing showers or storms after sunrise with coverage of rain increasing through the morning. Thunderstorms will become more widespread around noon and after. Rain and storm chances will remain elevated into the evening. Heavy rain at times will be an issue, especially during the afternoon commute. Some stronger storm cells may be able to drop a quick 1-2″ of rain. While most storms will not be severe, any of the strong or severe storms will be able to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and small hail. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s which will provide ample fuel to produce a few severe storms. Rain chances will gradually decrease through Tuesday evening with temperatures cooling into the low to mid 70s. Wednesday and into the weekend will feature more scattered rain and storms with afternoon highs reaching the upper 80s to lower 90s each day. While there will a low risk for a few severe storms each day, organized severe weather is not expected at this time. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. ‘This is devastating' Erie farm torn apart after by severe weather Monday

Monday's severe storms have caused flooding and damage across the region, but over in Venango Township, residents said they've been hit by something worse: a tornado. 'I've never seen anything like this. This is devastating,' said Emily Sigler, a witness to the storm. Storm decimates Erie County property, injures several animals Sigler said she immediately took cover in her basement when she heard the wind pick up, and when she came out, her neighbor's place a mile and a half down Knoyle Road was left in ruin. 'At least two barns have been completely flattened, chicken coop, cows are affected, and horses are affected. Right now, the animals are I think, secured,' said Sigler. Nearly 100 friends and neighbors came to help the family after the storm, helping clear downed trees, power lines and debris scattered across the property. But even with dozens of people working, neighbors said they need even more help to clear the scene. Heavy thunderstorms wreak havoc across Erie area 'If anybody can bring water, food, chainsaws, generators, gas, gas for chainsaws, oil for chainsaws, generators, flashlights, it's going to get dark soon,' said said she and others were planning on staying to help as long as it takes, including through the said there aren't any injuries or deaths aside from some farm animals. If you would like to help the family impacted by the storm, you can access their GoFundMe page to donate here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
