Prince Harry Reportedly Debated Changing His Last Name to His Mother's Maiden Name
As Prince Harry continues to navigate his estrangement from his family, he reportedly considered changing his last name to his mother's maiden name, Spencer.
According to the Telegraph, 'During a rare visit to Britain, Prince Harry is said to have sought advice from his uncle Earl Spencer, about whether to assume his mother's surname.' One of Harry's friends told the paper, 'They had a very amicable conversation and Spencer advised him against taking such a step.'
The decision would've meant getting rid of his current last name, Mountbatten-Windsor, which is also on the birth certificates of his children, six-year-old Prince Archie and three-year-old Princess Lilibet.
However, Meghan Markle recently revealed on her Netflix series With Love, Meghan that their family uses 'Sussex' as their last name. 'It's so funny you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I'm Sussex now?' she tells Mindy Kaling, who appeared as a guest on the series. 'You have kids, and you go, 'No, I share my name with my children,' and that feels so—I didn't know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go, 'This is our family name. Our little family name.'' It's likely that instead of using Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Lili Mountbatten-Windsor, then, the children go by Archie Sussex and Lili Sussex.
Harry's relative Lord Ivar Mountbatten previously told T&C Meghan is 'completely incorrect' in how she's using her last name. 'Her family name is not Sussex, her family name is Mountbatten-Windsor. Her children are called Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor; they're not called Archie and Lilibet Sussex because Sussex is a title. So, they are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but actually he's Harry Mountbatten-Windsor and she would be Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor. My brother is the Marquess of Milford Haven, but his surname is Mountbatten, so he's called George Mountbatten, the Marquess of Milford Haven.'

Peyton Manning accidentally builds hype for Bengals throwback jerseys
The Cincinnati Bengals might not be announcing alternate jerseys or even throwback looks this season. But a recent appearance by Peyton Manning sure doesn't hurt as a hyper-builder. Manning showed up at Cincinnati in throwback Bengals attire this week, donning the No. 14 of Ken Anderson and Sam Wyche. He's coming off wrapping up the "Quarterback" show on Netflix that features Joe Burrow and also heavily features the Bengals on his "Peyton's Places" documentary show on ESPN+ that puts the spotlight on the past. While the Bengals don't have any official announcements on alternate jerseys or throwbacks yet, there's an anniversary looming in the next few years. In the meantime, the NFL quietly expanded the use of alternate or throwback jerseys to four times per season for each team and a new alternate jersey partnership will see the Bengals get at least one new set of jerseys in 2028. Until then, here's a bit of Manning, coincidentally building Bengals throwback jersey hype. Prince William and Prince Harry's Relationship Has Reportedly Reached a Point of 'No Turning Back'
Prince William and Prince Harry's brotherly rift has raged on for years, and the brothers currently have no relationship and reportedly haven't spoken in two years. For William, a new report claims, 'There is no turning back' in his relationship with Harry, and 'The door is firmly shut.' King Charles is adopting a 'tough love' approach with his younger son, who said in a BBC interview last month that he deeply wanted reconciliation with his it comes to the continually strained relationship between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry—a rift that has persisted for years—it seems that, according to a source speaking to Us Weekly, for William, 'There is no turning back.' 'The door is firmly shut,' the insider added. The relationship between the brothers—both the sons of King Charles and the late Princess Diana—is nonexistent, and royal historian Marlene Koenig said, 'Bridges have been burned on both sides.' The brothers apparently haven't spoken in two years. William, for his part, is 'absolutely appalled' at Harry's recent BBC interview, where Harry said that he would like reconciliation with his family. 'For William, there's a fear that Harry would go to the press and talk about what was said between them if he speaks to him,' Koenig said, while royal commenter Richard Fitzsimmons added, 'The royals don't trust the Sussexes and their relationship with the media.' 'William cannot forgive Harry for having betrayed the royal family in destructive interviews and a memoir [2023's Spare],' Fitzsimmons said, with another source speaking to Us Weekly emphasizing that the Prince of Wales feels 'hurt and betrayed' by Harry's public comments. But before the collective public blames Meghan Markle for the feud between brothers, royal commentator Amanda Matta encourages a bit of restraint. 'The tensions within the family run much deeper than any one woman's influence,' she said. 'The cracks were already there. If anything, Meghan's presence helped Harry process and articulate the ways in which the institution had already failed him.' Koenig said Charles is taking a 'tough love' approach with Harry: 'Charles never stopped loving Harry, but he doesn't want to [cause] any more tension within the family,' she said. 'He can't bring his two sons together—that's something they need to do. It must be awfully painful for the King that he doesn't see his grandchildren and that he can't talk to his son [Harry] for fear of what will happen,' adding that the King is 'keeping his distance until they can find a way to talk.' Charles has been battling cancer since early 2024, and while he seems to be stable and doing well, he is 76 years old—and not even monarchs live forever. When that awful day does inevitably come—may it be in the far distant future—not even that will guarantee a reconciliation, Matta told Us Weekly. Koenig expects that Harry will learn of the King's 'illness at the last minute' and that Harry will then fly to the U.K. 'But I think access will be regulated, and it will all depend on what the King's wishes are,' she added. June 4 marks Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday, and, because of the conflict between William and Harry, the royal cousins are separated—not just emotionally, but, of course, geographically too. 'Kate [Middleton] would have loved for her kids to have a relationship with Harry's, but the dream that [they] could all play together couldn't be further away,' a source told Us Weekly. Matta told the outlet that the ball is in William's court, but it will be an uphill climb to get to reconciliation: 'This complex rift is about two very different worldviews—one is rooted in preserving tradition, the other in breaking from them when they start to cause harm,' she said. 'Until that disconnect is addressed, even a basic working relationship will be hard to rebuild.' Read the original article on InStyle
