Ozzy Osbourne dies two weeks after final Black Sabbath reunion concert
The heavy metal singer – who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 – was reunited with fellow original Sabbath members Tony Iommi, Terence 'Geezer' Butler and Bill Ward on stage for a final performance on July 6.
Just over two weeks later Osbourne's family announced his death at the age of 76.

The heavy metal band were the last to appear on stage as part of a star-studded line-up for the Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park, Birmingham, not far from the Crown pub where they played their first gig in 1968.
At the start of his solo performance, Osbourne entered the stage by rising on a large black throne through a trap door, wearing his signature black attire and thick eye make-up.
He started the set by saying: 'Let me hear you. Are you ready? Let the madness begin!'
Later, he told the crowd: 'It's so good to be on this f****** stage. You have no idea. I f****** love you all. Let me see your hands in the air. You are the best, each and every one of you. God bless you all.'
In an emotional moment, he added: 'I don't know what to say, man, I've been laid up for, like, six years. You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.
'You're all f****** special. Let's go crazy, come on.'
The rocker sang five songs in his own set, with fans waving torches from their phones during Mama, I'm Coming Home.
He finished his performance with Crazy Train, before confetti rained over a packed Villa Park.
After a short break, he re-entered the stage to join the rest of Black Sabbath for the first time in 20 years.
The band performed some of their greatest hits, ending with a rendition of Paranoid.
Fans chanted 'Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy' as the rock great thanked and blew kisses to those in attendance, before departing in an emotional ending to cap an illustrious career on stage.
In one of the messages displayed before his performance, Sir Elton John told Osbourne: 'You are one of the most remarkable singers of our time.
'You are the king, you are the legend. You've been through so much crap in the last few years – I hope this is the best day of your life so far.'
Personal videos from dozens of fans were also broadcast at the event, in which they credited Osbourne and Black Sabbath for inventing heavy metal and thanked them for their generational influence on music.

Scottish TV in crisis as demand collapses amid economic gloom
Scottish TV has been plunged into crisis as economic gloom hits advertising revenues and demand for new shows. Scottish Television (STV), which holds the Channel 3 licence in Scotland and is the country's largest commercial broadcaster, has warned that its revenues and profits would be 'materially' below expectations this year. Shares in the broadcaster plunged by as much as a third to their lowest level in more than 12 years in response to the update, pushing its market value below £90m. ITV, which licences many of its programmes to the Scottish channel, was also down 2pc. STV suffered a 10pc drop in advertising revenue in the first six months of 2025, which it said was in line with expectations following strong trading in the same period last year during the Euros football tournament. But bosses warned the market had since deteriorated further, with ad revenues plunging by a fifth in July. In addition to the advertising downturn, STV warned of a significant slowdown in its production division, which is the largest in Scotland and is behind shows such as the BBC's Blue Lights and upcoming Sky drama Amadeus. Studio businesses are considered a key area of growth for broadcasters as they grapple with a decline in traditional TV viewing. But rising costs and tough competition from streaming rivals result in many channels having to cut back on programming spend, leading to fewer commissions. ITV last week said it was slashing its programming spending as part of a wider cost-cutting strategy, while Channel 4 is also investing significantly less in making TV shows. Focus on Britain STV said that while it is working on projects for US streaming giants including Netflix and Apple, it remains primarily UK-focused, meaning it has been 'disproportionately' hit by a drying up of demand in the domestic market. STV forecasts production revenues of between £75m and £85m for the full year, well behind its targets of £200m by the end of the decade. Overall, STV said it was lowering its full-year revenue forecasts to between £165m and £180m with a profit margin of around 7pc. Richard Bernstein, the head of fund manager Crystal Amber, which was previously the largest shareholder in STV, described the profit warning as 'vicious'. He said: 'We've been tracking the company and saw today's warning as inevitable: it was over a year since its last new studio commission, we think the worst is yet to come.' In May, STV announced that it would combine its traditional TV and streaming businesses into a single division, aiming to streamline the company for the digital age. It also announced plans to launch a new Scotland-focused commercial radio station while doubling revenues in its studios unit. Bosses said they were ramping up cost-cutting plans with a further £750,000 in savings identified, bringing the company's total target for the year to £2.5m. Further cost-cutting is expected next year. Broaden your horizons with award-winning British journalism. Ozzy Osbourne biographer defends Sharon Osbourne from ‘evil, puppet master' reputation after rocker's death
Team Sharon. Daniel Bukszpan, author of the 2023 biography 'Ozzy At 75 : The Unofficial Illustrated History,' exclusively spoke to The Post after Ozzy Osbourne's death and defended his wife Sharon Osbourne from the negative reputation she's had in the music industry. 'Within the heavy metal subculture, Sharon Osborne has a reputation as this evil shrew, puppet master controlling him from off-stage or whatever,' Bukszpan said. He was borderline homeless — could easily be just a couple of months away from walking down the street with a shopping cart barking at people,' Bukszpan recalled. 'She found him in that state and said, 'I think I can turn this guy into a solo artist,' when everyone had completely given up on him.' 9 Biographer Daniel Bukszpan. Daniel Bukszpan Advertisement Bukszpan pointed out that Sharon, 72, made Ozzy 'more famous' when she became his solo manager in 1979 after he was kicked out of Black Sabbath. 'And due to her ability to corral him and direct him and that sort of thing, she made him one of the biggest stars in the world,' the author said. 9 Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne at their Beverly Hills home. Los Angeles Times via Getty Images Bukszpan also declared of Sharon and Ozzy: 'I believe she kept him alive the whole time.' Advertisement 'I sometimes get heavy metal people mad at me because I'll always defend sort of the way some Beatles fans see Yoko Ono,' the music expert continued. 'Like that she was just this woman interfering. No, she kept him alive and made him one of the biggest stars in the world for over 40 years. And gave him a family who he clearly loves and means everything to him.' 9 Daniel Bukszpan in his interview with The Post. 9 Daniel Bukszpan's biography 'Ozzy at 75: The Unofficial Illustrated History.' Daniel Bukszpan Bukszpan added of the hate Sharon's dealt with, 'I think when a public figure is as beloved as he was, people sometimes develop inappropriate attachment to them wherein they feel like, 'That woman's not good for him. He should marry me.' Like that kind of a thing. It's kind of high school cafeteria stuff.' Advertisement But Bukszpan did note that Ozzy's widow — whom the singer married in 1982 and shared kids Aimee, Kelly and Jack with — 'has been known to be unpleasant at times.' 9 Sharon Osbourne hugging Ozzy Osbourne in 2007. WireImage 'That's not a secret either,' he stated. 'I just think the way she's being characterized is wrong. And the fact that he made it to 76, I give all the credit to her. She kept him going and put up with a lot of stuff you would not put up with for a minute in your own marriage. But she took the marriage vows seriously and stood by him.' 'She saw something most of us did not,' Bukszpan continued about Sharon. 'And again, I don't like the way that she is characterized in a popular sense. And it's not just because she kept him alive this whole time. They clearly loved each other the whole time. And I think we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. That was a good marriage. If it was just about business, she would have stopped a long time ago.' 9 Sharon Osbourne at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on June 25, 2025. Emma Trimble / SWNS 'So I will always defend her,' Bukszpan added, 'even though I'm fully aware of numerous things she has done that were not that great.' Bukszpan also told The Post what he thinks Sharon's next steps will be following Ozzy's death. 'Sharon had said before the show, 'I'm done. I'm out of artist management. I am out of doing these events. I just want a quiet life now.' And I can certainly see that if that's what she chooses to do,' he explained. 'I can see how you're out of the game at this point.'
