Border force recovers 1 kg of heroin, pistol from near Pakistan border in Punjab
A swift response by Border Security Force troops to inputs by its intelligence foiled nefarious attempts by a cross-border narco-terror syndicate as they recovered a drone, over 1 kilogram of suspected heroin and a pistol with a magazine in the bordering districts of Punjab from three separate operations carried out on Friday night and Saturday morning, officials said.On Friday night, based on the intel provided by the BSF intelligence wings, a joint search operation by the BSF in collaboration with the Punjab Police was launched. It led to the recovery of one packet of suspected heroin (gross weight- 589 grams) from a field adjacent to village Dal in district Tarn Taran.advertisementOn Saturday morning, BSF troops recovered one DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone along with one packet of suspected heroin (gross weight- 548 grams) from a field near the border security fence adjacent to the village of Habibwala in district Ferozepur.
A few hours later, a search operation by BSF troops culminated in the recovery of a pistol along with a magazine, which were found in burnt condition from a field near Dhani Natha Singh Wala village of Fazilka district in Punjab.Interestingly, the incriminating articles were recovered from the border districts which were among those which found themselves at the receiving end of the Pakistani drone and missile attack earlier this month.This came amid the Punjab Police's announcement that it is preparing to introduce GPS-enabled anklets to monitor drug kingpins and repeat offenders released on bail or parole, as part of the state government's 'Yudh Nasheyan Virudh' (War Against Drugs) campaign.The move aims to enable real-time surveillance and prevent absconding, marking a significant shift in the state's criminal justice enforcement through technology.Tune InMust Watch

The man, who had planned a short vacation to the country with a friend, shared his experience, saying, 'We flew in from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi on Wizz Air. We had our hotel bookings, return tickets, travel insurance — everything in order. But as soon as we said we were Pakistani nationals, the officers pulled us aside." According to the post, immigration officers took their passports and photographed them in front of other passengers. The two travellers were then taken to a separate room and denied basic information. 'When we asked why we were being held, one officer just said: 'We cannot tell you,'" the man claimed, adding, 'No reason, no documentation, no violation — just a vague statement and dismissive attitude." He said they were detained for over 12 hours in a locked room with no access to proper food, clean water, or a sanitary bathroom. 'It was like a prison," he wrote, adding that efforts to contact the UAE or Pakistani embassies were met with hostility. 'They tried to snatch our phones when they saw me trying to call the embassy." The man also shared that he holds a senior position in Abu Dhabi, has no criminal record, and possesses a strong travel history. 'We were not misbehaving. Our paperwork was complete. Still, we were treated like criminals," he wrote. 'The loss isn't just financial," he continued, referring to expenses on flights, accommodation, insurance, and rental cars, adding, 'It's the psychological toll — the humiliation, the anxiety, and the sheer helplessness." He concluded his post by calling out the officers' behaviour as 'rude, racist, and unjust," saying, 'We feel dehumanised. We will never forget this." Delhi Court extends judicial custody of Tahawwur Rana till July 9
New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) A Delhi court on Friday extended the judicial custody of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana till July 9. Special Judge Chander Jit Singh after the hearing extended the judicial custody of Rana, who was produced before the court through video conferencing (vc) after expiry of his earlier judicial custody. In this matter, Tihar Jail Authorities had been permitted earlier by the court to file its response to the application of Rana seeking to talk with his family members. The application of Rana will be considered by the court on June 9. The National Investigation Agency filed its reply on the application of Rana and also supplied its copy to the Jail Authorities on the direction of the Court. Tahawwur Rana, a 64-year-old Pakistani-origin Canadian businessman, is said to be a close associate of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks main conspirator David Coleman Headley alias Daood Gilani, a US citizen. The court had earlier also dismissed the application of Rana seeking to talk with his family members. A group of 10 Pakistani terrorists went on a rampage in Mumbai in November 2008, carrying out a coordinated attack on a railway station, two luxury hotels and a Jewish centre, after they sneaked into the metropolis using the sea route in the Arabian Sea. About 166 people were killed due to this assault. Rana is accused of conspiring with Headley and operatives of designated terrorist organisations to carry out the three day-long terror siege of India's financial capital. The US Supreme Court earlier this year dismissed the review petition of Rana, against his extradition and cleared the way for his transfer to Indian custody. UNI XC RN

New Delhi: Ex-Pakistan Cop Mastermind Of Cross-Border Spy Ring, Says Arrested YouTuber A former sub-inspector from the Pakistan Police ranks was among the masterminds of a cross-border espionage racket, which various Indians have been found to be a part of. Punjab YouTuber Jasbir Singh, who was arrested earlier this week for allegedly spying for Pakistan, disclosed during interrogation that the former cop Nasir Dhillon had introduced him to Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) officials in Lahore. He had also arranged Jasbir Singh's meeting with ISI operative Danish in Pakistan. Nasir Dhillon, who is now a YouTuber, used to connect Indian social media personalities with ISI operative Danish alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman, who worked as a visa officer in the Pakistani embassy in Delhi. Danish was expelled from India in May, after travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra was exposed for spying for the country with whom ties have plummeted since the April 22 Pahalgam attack and May 7 Operation Sindoor strikes. Both Jasbir Singh and Nasir Dhillon know Jyoti Malhotra, who runs the travel YouTube account 'Travel With Jo', and was among the first of spies in the alleged Islamabad-run espionage ring to be arrested. Further, police have found that Danish used to call the spies as guests to the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi and assign tasks. Security agencies also suspect that hundreds of former police personnel of Pakistan Police are part of the espionage racket, which targets Indian YouTubers. Jasbir Singh, who runs a YouTube channel named 'JaanMahal video' and has over a million subscribers, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly passing on information on Indian forces' movement to the ISI. He was allegedly in contact with an ISI officer named Shakir, alias Jutt Randhawa, who was part of a terror-backed spying network, said Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. He had visited Pakistan thrice, and several Pakistani numbers were found on his devices, which are now under forensic probe. He had also attended the Pakistan National Day program held at the Pakistani Embassy in Delhi on Danish's invitation. After Jyoti Malhotra's arrest, Jasbir Singh tried to erase the traces of his communications with Pakistani officials to avoid detection, said DGP Yadav. Others facing spying charges include a student from Patiala's Khalsa College, Davendra Singh Dhillon. The 25-year-old was arrested in Haryana after he uploaded photos of a pistol on Facebook, and his Pakistan links emerged during his questioning. Nauman Ilahi, a 24-year-old security guard in Haryana, was found to be in touch with an ISI handler in Pakistan, and used to receive money in the account of his brother-in-law. A 28-year-old health worker from Gujarat Sahdev Singh Gohil was arrested for transmitting sensitive information related to Indian military infrastructure to a Pakistani operative. Arman, 23, and Tarif, both from Haryana's Nuh district, were arrested within days of each other. Tarif was caught trying to delete chats with Pakistani numbers when police arrived at his residence. Shakur Khan, a Rajasthan government employee from Jaisalmer, was also arrested on spying charges.
