Maria Grazia Chiuri to Depart as Creative Director of Dior After 9 Years
In what has been a monumental season of creative director shuffles and appointments, the latest marks yet another seismic shift in the fashion world. Maria Grazia Chiuri has been confirmed as stepping down from her role as creative director of women's haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessories. The designer was the first woman to hold such a title at Dior.
Maria Grazia Chiuri, who prior to her nearly decade-long run at Dior also held roles at Fendi and Valentino, showed her her last collection with the Maison for Cruise 2026, in Rome earlier this week. The runway show, a dramatic spectacle at the Villa Albani Torlonia, was very much in line with Grazia Chiuri's signature style, which transformed Dior into one of LVMH's powerhouses.
Her departure was announced in a simple statement relaying the House of Dior's gratitude. "I extend my warmest thanks to Maria Grazia Chiuri, who, since her arrival at Dior, has accomplished tremendous work with an inspiring feminist perspective and exceptional creativity, all imbued with the spirit of Monsieur Dior, which allowed her to design highly desirable collections." said, Delphine Arnault, Chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture in the statement. "She has written a key chapter in the history of Christian Dior, greatly contributing to its remarkable growth and being the first woman to lead the creation of women's collections."
The press release also included a statement from Grazia Chiuri, "After nine years, I am leaving Dior, delighted to have been given this extraordinary opportunity. I would like to thank Monsieur Arnault for placing his trust in me and Delphine for her support. I am particularly grateful for the work accomplished by my teams and the Ateliers. Their talent and expertise allowed me to realize my vision of committed women's fashion, in close dialogue with several generations of female artists. Together, we have written an impactful chapter of which I am immensely proud.'
While no successor for Maria Grazia Chiuri has been announced, it is assumed that she will be succeeded by Jonathan Anderson, who left his longtime appointment at Loewe earlier this year, and announced he would be heading up Dior menswear in an Instagram post.
At this time, Anderson's first (and highly anticipated—the fashion world has been buzzing about his rumored appointment for a few months now) is going to his debut as the artistic director of Dior menswear on June 27 in Paris. Jack McCullogh and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, are assuming the mantel at Loewe.
Maria Grazia Chiuri, and now Jonathan Anderson are among the ranks of a long line of artistic director appointments at the LVMH-owned fashion house's nearly 80 year history. The eponymous maison was originally founded by Christian Dior on 30 Avenue Montaigne (where there is an exquisite atelier, museum, and flagship) in Paris and became known world wide for the fashion designer's invention of the revolutionary "new look", a silhouette that emphasized the feminine form with a full skirt and tailored waistline (as made famous with the Bar suit) which revitalized the Haute Couture savoir-faire spirit of France in the post WWII era.
Among other house codes, floral motifs, a tribute to Monsieur Dior's love for gardening, have featured heavily throughout Dior's many design eras—and has also been a surrealist infused element at Anderson's Loewe.
Below, the full timeline of Dior's Creative Director History.

Alex Anzalone's cryptic post adds fuel to the perceived contract demands in Detroit
Alex Anzalone's cryptic post adds fuel to the perceived contract demands in Detroit Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone has remained away from the team's voluntary offseason workouts thus far. The team captain is entering the final year of his contract (the deal voids for 2026) and the presumption is that Anzalone, who turns 31 in September, is looking for more money, more guaranteed money, or some combination of both to stay in Detroit. Anzalone's latest social media post is throwing gasoline onto that smoldering situation, one that head coach Dan Campbell stated last week didn't concern him at all. The Instagram post shows Anzalone working out away from the team and looking impressive physically. Anzalone makes no mention at all of the Lions in the extended video clip, nor does he refer to Detroit in his simple comment, "In life, you have options. Which will you choose?" Based on the comments to the clip, including one from Lions teammate Jahmyr Gibbs, it's abundantly clear that the masses believe Anzalone is referring to his perceived contractual squabble with the Lions in the video. Anzalone is under contract for $6 million in 2025, though none of that salary is guaranteed. Including his $100,000 roster bonus, Anzalone's total compensation is outside the top 25 LBs in the NFL for 2025. More: Lions OTA notebook and observations from Friday's practice session

Justin Bieber Slams Haters in Cryptic Post: ‘God Decides What We Deserve'
Justin Bieber is speaking his mind once again, sharing a cryptic post on Instagram slamming people who tell others what they 'should or shouldn't have.' In white text typed over a purple gradient Tuesday (June 3), the pop star began by writing that 'telling other humans they deserve something is like raising someone else's kids.' More from Billboard Justin Bieber Shows Off New Pics With Baby Jack: 'Gonna Be a Good Summer' Kneecap Announce Massive Wembley Arena Headline Show Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR Announce '$ome $pecial $hows 4 U.K.' Tour Dates 'Who are you to tell someone what someone should or shouldn't have,' he continued. 'The audacity. That's not your place.' The 'Peaches' singer added, 'God decides what we deserve.' Billboard has reached out to his reps for comment. Bieber did not specify to whom he was referring in the post, but it does come at a particularly prosperous time for his family. A few days prior to his message, skincare mogul Hailey Bieber — whom the pop star married in 2018 — announced that she'd sold her Rhode company to e.l.f. Beauty for a reported $1 billion, something the musician celebrated by proudly sharing the news on his Instagram. Before that, the model — with whom Justin welcomed son Jack Blues in August — appeared on the cover of Vogue. In the accompanying profile, the 'Baby' vocalist said, 'I've done a lot of dumb things in my life, but the smartest thing I've ever done was marry Hailey.' The Grammy winner's post is just the latest cryptic statement he's made on Instagram in recent months. In February, he made headlines for posting about how it was 'time to grow up' on his Story, after which he penned musings in March about feeling like he was 'drowning' in 'hate' and struggling with feeling 'unworthy.' In April, Justin called out paparazzi in Los Angeles, sharing a video of cameramen following him out to his car, writing, 'This has to stop.' 'IM CURRENTLY ASKING [GOD] TO HELP ME WITH PATIENCE BECAUSE It CAN BE REALLY HARD TO NOT RIP THESE F–KIN GUYS HEADS OFF,' he also wrote at the time. 'Today I'm forgiving myself for my own selfishness, AND forgiving THOSE WHO SEEK TO USE AND ABUSE ME SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WANT TO CAPITaLIze off of me, Or Their jealousy makes them want to make me feel small like how they feel.' See Justin's latest post below. Go Inside NYC's Must-Visit New Dior Exhibit
From Christian Dior to Gianfranco Ferré and Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior's legacy is one of the utmost beauty and refinement. Now, UBS House of Craft has partnered with the atelier to connect the designs of all seven creative directors in a single show unlike ever before. Curated by iconic fashion stylist and editor Carine Roitfeld and photographed by Brigitte Niedermair, the exhibit examines the intricate and historic craft of couture through a uniquely modern lens. The project offered Roitfeld personal access to the archives, where she explored eight decades of history and hand-selected iconic looks—ranging from an eclectic spring 2015 couture minidress by Raf Simons to a extraordinarily chic crocodile jacket from fall 1960 couture by Yves Saint Laurent. 'It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun. And because we know the house very well, both of us, we have a nexus to everything we want,' Roitfeld tells ELLE. The curated archive was then photographed by Niedermair, a longtime collaborator of the house (who has also shot for ELLE.) Through her lens, each piece transcends its original era and is brought into the editorial light of the present day. Adds Roitfeld, 'We learned so many things. And even though we are very respectful, we still had some freedom. It was very important for Brigitte and me to have some freedom for the picture.' Throughout the exhibit, a select few of the actual garments were juxtaposed in front of Niedermair's modern editorial images. Observing these rare archive items, like the crown from John Galliano's fall 2004 couture collection and the original 1947 Bar ensemble, up close felt like paying tribute to invaluable pieces of fashion history. 'Above all, this alliance is a celebration of excellence, haute couture elegance, and the exceptional savoir-faire deployed by Dior since the triumph of the New Look in 1947,' said Olivier Bialobos, UBS's deputy managing director in charge of global communication and image, in a statement. 'This artistic dialogue is a tribute to audacity and virtuoso artisanship, at the convergence of past, present, and future, in a perpetually shifting cultural landscape.' UBS House of Craft x Dior is open and free to the public from June 6-8 at 28 Pine Street in New York's Financial District.
