The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 is now set to take place on July 5, 2025, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, organisers JSW Sports announced on Tuesday. Initially scheduled for May 24th, the event was deferred, keeping security in mind, and to show solidarity with the nation, as per the JSW Sports press release.
This landmark event, India's first-ever International Javelin competition, is spearheaded by India's most decorated Olympian, Neeraj Chopra, in collaboration with JSW Sports and sanctioned by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).

Ticket pricing for the Neeraj Chopra Classic ranges from INR 199 to INR 9,999, ensuring accessibility for all fans. For a premium experience, five corporate boxes accommodating 15 guests each are available at INR 44,999. An exclusive 10% discount is offered to Visa Credit Card holders.
To enhance the spectator experience, a special stand alongside the thrower's runway is priced at INR 9,999, while another special stand in the North Upper Stand, located just behind the runway, offers tickets for INR 2,999.
As a World Athletics-sanctioned Gold event, the Neeraj Chopra Classic promises to elevate India's status on the global athletics map. It will feature a stellar line-up of elite javelin throwers, making it a significant event for India. India head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed deep sorrow over the tragic stampede in Bengaluru that claimed 11 lives during the RCB's celebrations, saying he was never a believer in holding roadshows for victory events since such gatherings can put lives at the event being ticketed and organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), nearly 2.5 lakh fans thronged the stadium premises, leading to chaos and a fatal stampede. My heart goes out to the families and the loved ones of the victims. I hope, in future, nothing like this happens. We shouldn't have done that. You can't, at any point, lose 11 people. For me, the road show should not have happened," Gambhir said while addressing the pre-departure press conference in Mumbai. Calling for a rethink of how teams celebrate with fans, Gambhir urged organisers to exercise greater caution. "Can't say whether the fan base has increased or all that. All I can say is we need to be responsible citizens. We need to responsible in every aspect, whether being a franchise or everything. Every life matters. If you not ready to hold a roadshow, you shouldn't have done that. As simple as it can get," he know fans get excited, fanbases get excited, but nothing compared to what happened yesterday. I can't sit here and say who is responsible. Winning is important. Celebrating is important. But, what's more important is the lives of common people. If you are not prepared, if you can't handle the crowd, then might as well, we don't do these roadshows," Gambhir on Thursday, RCB had announced "financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased" and setting up of an RCB Cares fund in aid of the "fans injured in this tragic incident." The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) also stated it would give Rs 5 lakh to each of the families of the people who died in the stampede around the Chinnaswamy secretary Devajit Saikia, speaking to India Today, said the BCCI was not responsible for the event but acknowledged that there were lapses in its organisation.

India head coach Gautam Gambhir on Thursday reacted to the tragedy in Bengaluru when 11 people lost their lives in a stampede when they came to celebrate the Indian Premier League title triumph of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Gambhir said that he was not a fan of road shows and said he believed that there was no need for such things. 'I was never a believer that we need to have road shows. When I was playing I had the same statement to make. Even after winning 2007, that we should not have road shows. I think lives of people are more important and I will continue to say that in the future, we can be a little bit aware of not putting on these road shows and can probably have it inside close doors or in a stadium. It is very tragic what happened yesterday and my hear goes out to families who have lost their loved ones,' Gambhir said in a press conference. On Wednesday morning, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team management announced that they will take out a victory march in an open bus from Vidhana Soudha to the stadium. However, the Bengaluru traffic police announced that there would be no victory parade amid traffic concerns. The RCB team arrived at the airport shortly after, scheduled to meet Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, while the crown around the Chinnaswamy stadium swelled to over a lakh. Tragedy struck when when Gate 3 of the stadium partially opened and a crowd, comprising both ticket holders and those without tickets, attempted to swarm into the premises, leading to immeasurable chaos. On Thursday, RCB announced financial support of Rs 10 lakh for the families of each of the 11 deceased during the stampede that ensued outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. 'The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family,' said RCB in a statement on Thursday. 'As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased.
