Crowds of devotees continue to gather at the renowned Baba Khatu Shyam temple in Rajasthan's Sikar district. Pilgrims from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Haryana, and various parts of the country, as well as from abroad, are arriving in large numbers. With Nirjala Ekadashi falling on June 6 (Friday) this year, a massive turnout is expected at the temple.
To ensure a smooth and comfortable experience, the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee and the local administration have made extensive arrangements. Fans, coolers, and ample cold water facilities have been set up across the temple premises to help devotees cope with the summer heat.
The temple committee and administrative authorities are holding regular meetings to coordinate crowd management and ensure orderly darshan on June 6.
There are 24 Ekadashis in a year, two each month, and each is marked by a significant influx of devotees. Among these, Nirjala Ekadashi holds special spiritual significance. On this day, lakhs of devotees are expected to reach the temple. Starting with the Mangala Aarti at 5am, the temple will remain open for darshan throughout the day and night.
Facilities For Devotees
Chairman of the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee, Manvendra Singh Chauhan, said that special measures have been taken to protect devotees from the heat. Carpets have been laid on walking paths for those arriving barefoot. Cold water is being sprayed along village roads from tankers, and free water pouches are being distributed throughout the temple complex.
In anticipation of the large crowd on Nirjala Ekadashi, security arrangements have also been bolstered. In addition to temple guards, local police, the Reserve Police Line, and the RAC will be deployed to ensure safety and crowd control.
Dedicated Arrangements For Disabled Devotees
Special arrangements have been made for disabled visitors. To help them access darshan comfortably, additional wheelchairs have been provided. Volunteers from the temple committee will assist disabled devotees through a dedicated ' Divyang ' line that bypasses the general queue. Furthermore, extra traffic police will be deployed to manage vehicular flow in and around Khatu town.

New Delhi [India], August 16 (ANI): Devotees across India thronged temples with devotion and fervour to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna. Thousands of devotees gathered to offer prayers and seek blessings. The chanting of mantras, bhajans, and ringing of bells as sacred rituals started in early morning hours across several temples in the country. In Mathura, the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna, witnessed a vibrant Mangala Aarti early this morning. In Noida, devotees participated in grand celebrations in the ISKCON Temple in Sector 32. The temple echoed with kirtans and devotional offerings. In Chhatarpur of Madhya Pradesh, the Prem Pratik Temple hosted a Mangala in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the historic Govind Dev Ji Temple saw an overwhelming turnout of devotees. The celebrations across these cities reflect the deep spiritual connection and widespread devotion to Lord Krishna's birthday falls on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapad. Although the celebration takes place in different parts of the country, Mathura and Vrindavan hold a special significance. One being his birthplace, and one where he spent his childhood and did his baal flock to the Lord Krishna temples. The temples were decorated with flowers and crystal chandeliers, and the idols of Lord Krishna were decorated with colourful clothes and midnight, a special ritual is performed when the idol of Lord Krishna is bathed in milk, yoghurt, honey, ghee, and water. During the Krishna Abhishek, bells are rung, conch shells are blown, and Vedic hymns are the bhog, Prasad is given to the worshippers, who stand out for hours for Krishna darshan and Handi is also celebrated in numerous areas. One of the customary festivals of Krishna Janmashtami is Dahi Handi, also known as Gopalakala or is the name for curd, while a handi is an earthen pot used to store milk products. One of the biggest celebrations in Maharashtra is Dahi Krishna is often referred to as 'Makhan Chor' because he used to steal butter. Kashi turns saffron as devotees throng KVT, other Shiv temples on 3rd Shrawan Somvar
1 2 3 4 5 6 Varanasi: Roads leading to Kashi Vishwanath Dham turned saffron with a massive turnout of kanwariyas who have arrived in the city to offer jalabhishek to Lord Shiv on the third Monday of the Shrawan month. A huge congregation of kanwariyas and pilgrims started reaching the city from Sunday, and by night they had occupied the entire area barricaded for the devotees. The sanctum sanctorum doors of the Kashi Vishwanath temple were opened after the Mangala Aarti in the early hours. The devotees queued up for offering prayers at the temple from Maidagin and Godowlia sides and were welcomed with shower of flowers by district magistrate Satyendra Kumar, the temple's chief executive officer Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, and other officials. The massive influx of the devotees continued at the temple till late afternoon. In the evening there was a slight ease in the crowd and pilgrims did not had to wait very long to offer jalabhishek. They even had the opportunity to witness the Ardhanarishwar Shringar of the deity in the evening. Additional Commissioner of Police (law and order) Shivhari Meena led the officials and forces deployed for crowd management and security arrangements. He inspected areas including Maidagin, Godowlia, Ramapura, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Bulanala, Chowk, Dashashwamedh, and Gate-4 of Kashi Vishwanath Dham to ensure smooth and safe visits and traffic for the pilgrims and kanwariyas. Despite the availability of less space for bathing due to floodwaters, the ghats remained crowded with kanwariyas and other devotees in a large numbers. Extra vigilance was maintained by police and NDRF personnel at the ghats along the river Ganga. The entire temple complex and the ghats were monitored through a CCTV network and drones. Maintaining their years-old tradition, the traders associated with the Vishwanath Gali traders union took out a procession to Kashi Vishwanath temple to offer jalabhishek. The procession, which started from Chittaranjan Park near Dashashwamedh Ghat, was also joined by many dignitaries including Varanasi City South MLA Neelkanth Tiwari. The procession moved amidst the beats of damrus and sound of conch shells. At the beginning of the procession, 11 Vedic priests worshipped the pots filled with water from 84 ghats of Kashi and the same water was offered to Lord Vishwanath. Devotees from Varanasi and neighbouring districts also thronged Markandeya Mahadev temple on the Ganga-Gomati confluence in Kaithi areas in large numbers to offer Jalabhishek. Temples like Mrityunjaya Mahadev, Kriti Visheshwar, Onkaleshwar, Tilbhandeshwar, Kedareshwar, Vishwanatha temple of BHU, and Sarangnath also remained heavily crowded with local devotees.

Long queue of devotees at Lord Shiv temples on third Monday of Shrawan
1 2 Kanpur: Huge rush of devotees was seen at prominent Lord Shiv temples of the city to offer their prayers and perform 'Jalabhishek' on the occasion of third Monday of Shrawan. The devotees took a bath in the Ganga and offered prayers at Shiv temples. Long queue of devotees was seen at Anandeshwar, Siddhanath and Jageshwar temple. At Anandeshwar temple devotees reached after midnight and temple management committee open the doors for devotees after Mangala Aarti around 2 am. Temple management committee apprised that till 9 am around 60,000 devotees visited and offered their prayers. They offered milk, ghee, sandal, flowers, wood apple fruit and leaves and dhatura. The administration had deputed volunteers at the temple. Similar scene was witnessed at Jageshwar temple (Nawabganj) and Siddhanath temple in Jajmau. Bankhandeshwar, Kherapati temple also witnessed surge of devotees throughout the day. Baba Baijnath Dham temple in Patara town also saw huge crowd. Devotees sang bhajans and songs here. It is said that those who offer prayers with devotion, their desires are fulfilled.
