Daichi Kamada to miss trip to Chelsea and faces race to make European tie
The 29-year-old was withdrew half an hour into Palace's Community Shield triumph over Liverpool last weekend with a knee injury.
Eagles boss Oliver Glasner said after the game that his injury did not look too serious, but there was the potential that he could miss a couple of games.
Looking ahead to Palace's trip to Stamford Bridge, Glasner confirmed that Kamada will not feature and admitted he is unsure whether the club's first taste of European football, against Fredrikstad on Thursday, will give him enough time to be ready.
'Daichi Kamada is out for the Chelsea game, let's see if he is available for Fredrikstad on Thursday. It will be quite tight, but he is definitely out for Chelsea.
'No player has returned from injury. There's no Eddie Nketiah or Matheus Franca, who can't train with the team at the moment. No Caleb Kporha.
'The group we have is not the biggest one (in terms of numbers), but we showed at Wembley - where we had to substitute Daichi Kamada after 20 minutes - that the next one comes in and the team is able to win games. This is how we go to Chelsea on Sunday.'
Palace captain Marc Guehi and talisman Eberechi Eze have both been linked with moves away from the club this week, but Glasner believes both players will be in red and blue come Sunday.
'Marc has trained the entire week with us, every single training session, the same with Ebs. They've prepared the best way for the Chelsea game on Sunday afternoon.
'I've been in the football business for too long, so I know that at any time of any day, things can happen. If you ask me now, I expect both Marc and Ebs to start on Sunday.

Phillies closer Jhoan Duran described himself as "100%" a day after taking line drive off right ankle
Philadelphia Phillies closer Jhoan Duran described himself as "100%" on Saturday, a day after he left a 6-2 victory over Washington after taking a line drive off his right ankle. "I'm normal, like nothing happened," Duran said. The right-hander, who has four saves in five scoreless appearances since he was acquired in a trade with Minnesota last month, was hit by Paul DeJong's leadoff shot in the ninth inning Friday. Duran limped off to foul territory and eventually was taken off the field by the Nationals' bullpen cart. Manager Rob Thomson said X-rays were negative Friday and declared Duran "good to go" Saturday. "He actually walked out to the bus pretty good, and then he came in normal," Thomson said. Thomson also said the Phillies plan to activate third baseman Alec Bohm on Sunday. Bohm went on the injured list July 19 with a fractured left rib. He is hitting .278 with eight homers and 42 RBIs.
