The Galaxy S line's once huge lead over the iPhone with this feature has been sharply reduced
Remember when most top-tier Android phones had 4GB of RAM? These days, 12GB of memory is the minimum you want to see on your Android handset. The Galaxy S25 line featured 12GB of RAM although there was a 16GB variant of the top-of-the-line Galaxy S25 Ultra , but it was limited to Korean sales only. Macquarie Research believes that Sammy will hike the amount of memory on the Galaxy S26 series which is expected to be released in February 2026.
Macquarie expects that the RAM capacity of the Galaxy S series will increase to 16GB in 2026.

Based on Macquarie's research, tipster @Jukanlosreve posted a tweet that cites the research firm's conclusion by saying that the RAM capacity of the Galaxy S series will rise to 16GB in 2026. This will help Samsung's flagship series take on its rivals from China who are willing to equip their top shelf models with the best hardware available. These days, a higher amount of RAM is required for phones that are AI-centric. For example, Apple made sure that the iPhone 16e budget model carried no less than 8GB of RAM because that is the minimum required to run Apple Intelligence . While Sammy is hiking the amount of RAM on its upcoming flagship line, Apple will stick with 12GB for the iPhone 17 series later this year (actually, about two and a half months from now). S26 series and the 12GB of RAM expected on all
iPhone 17 series models this coming September.
TF International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a living legend among Apple analysts, expects all iPhone 18 models to receive 12GB of RAM next year. One thing that you might have noticed over the last few years is that Apple seriously closed the RAM gap between the iPhone and the Galaxy S series. At the peak, there was 10GB of difference between the 16GB of RAM available for the 512GB Galaxy S20 Ultra and the 6GB of RAM deployed on the iPhone 12 Pro Max . That gap will be reduced to 4GB early next year with the 16GB of RAM on theseries and the 12GB of RAM expected on allseries models this coming September.

The iOS 26 update gives iPhone users a chance to disable a feature they really don't want to see

Open the Wallet app, tap the three-dot icon in the upper right, press on Notifications, and toggle off Offers and Promotions. This will stop those iPhone users who received the notification about the movie ticket deal from seeing any more promotions in the Wallet app. Under the Offers & Promotions setting under Notifications in the Wallet app, Apple wrote, "Wallet will show special offers and discounts available from Apple or its partners." Keep in mind that you have to be running the iOS 26 Developer Beta in order to toggle off the notifications. This long-requested iPhone feature finally arrives for Google Fi users
Until now, iPhone users on Google Fi had to use the separate Fi app to check voicemails. This often led to confusion, since voicemail alerts could show up in both the Fi and iOS Phone apps. With this update, voicemail will only appear in the Phone app, where users can play, share, and delete messages just like they would with most other carriers. Additionally, Google Fi says it is phasing out voicemail support in the Fi app for iOS, thus users are being asked to download any voicemails they want to keep before August 13. After that date, those messages will no longer be available in the Fi app, and all voicemail functions will move over to the iPhone's default Phone app. Instructions for downloading messages are available through Google Takeout. Visual voicemail is a standard feature for most carriers on iPhone, so this update helps bring Google Fi closer to what other services already offer. 2026 Pixel 11 series could be historic for this reason
For a couple of years now we've been talking about the Tensor G5 application processor (AP) that will power the Pixel 10 series. Unlike all of the other Tensor models, the G5 is built using Google designs from the bottom up. Previously the chips used Samsung Exynos designs mixed in with some customization from Google. And all of the previous Tensor APs were manufactured by Samsung Foundry which was just happy to have any business at all thanks to the Foundry's poor yields. With Google designing the Tensor G5 from the bottom up, the Alphabet subsidiary has the ability to build key features into the new processor to support certain Pixel 10 features. In addition, as if the break from using Samsung's Exynos AP as the foundation of the Pixel's AP weren't enough of a positive change, the new Tensor will be built by TSMC using an enhanced version of its initial 3nm process node (N3E). Using the latter process node will bring improved performance, power efficiency, and thermal management to the Tensor chip. And the improvements don't appear to be ending anytime soon for the Tensor AP. A new report says that next year, the Pixel 11 series could be powered by the Tensor G6 which might be built by TSMC using its 2nm process node. In other words, the Pixel 11 could be one of the first smartphone lines to employ a 2nm application processor. Right now the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 +, in most markets outside of the U.S., China, and Canada, could be first in line to be powered by a 2nm AP. That would be the Exynos 2600. The Galaxy S26 line could be released in late January to mid-February next year. The Pixel 11 will probably be launched in August 2026. Should Samsung Foundry be able to clear up its yield problems and Samsung decides to use the Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 +, those two flagship devices will make history as the first smartphones to be powered by a 2nm AP. Should Samsung decide to once again go with the latest Snapdragon 8 AP for the Galaxy S26 series, the Pixel 11 could be the phone making history as the first to sport a 2nm chipset.
