Intel Stock (NASDAQ:INTC) Continues Slide as it Abandons AI Training
Honestly, right now, it is hard to tell whether to give chip stock Intel (INTC) credit for a newfound focus or be terrified that it is on its way to producing virtually nothing. In fact, Intel recently called it quits in the artificial intelligence (AI) training market, a move which left shareholders shaken. Intel shares dropped nearly 2% in Wednesday afternoon's trading. In something of a bold move, Intel departed one market to focus instead on another: inference. Specifically, Intel is now set to focus on '…edge and agent-based' inference, a move which might actually be better for Intel in the long run. Reports suggest that the inference market may ultimately surpass the training market in terms of overall value. After the Gaudi 3 chip failed to make much impact on the market, Intel instead pulled back to edge AI, agentic AI, and foundry services. Edge AI refers to both 'local' systems that do not need data center or cloud data deployments and some remote systems not connected to larger operations. Agentic AI, meanwhile, focuses on chips that can act without much, if any, human intervention. 18A Process Remains Uncertain There were some signs, first seen not so long ago, that suggested Intel may be planning to shut down the 18A process. And new reports lend at least some credence to that theory, though not a complete admission of abandonment. The new reports suggest that Intel is likely to use the 18A process to fabricate the Panther Lake line of mobile processors. But the Nova Lake processors are instead being taped-out through the N2 process from Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM). Intel was already an 'early client' for the N2 process, and it seems like it may be putting that process to work before it can get the 14A process, which was to ultimately replace the 18A process, up and running. Given some reports that suggested 18A would be used internally, as opposed to being used for foundry customers, the new revelation about Nova Lake may provide some support for that notion. Is Intel a Buy, Hold or Sell? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on INTC stock based on one Buy, 26 Holds and four Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 33.49% loss in its share price over the past year, the average INTC price target of $21.60 per share implies 4.21% downside risk.

All Eyes on UnitedHealth Stock Ahead of Earnings — Here's What This Top Investor Expects
UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) stock just cannot seem to catch a break. The company's share price – already down in the dumps this year – suffered another setback earlier this month when health insurer Centene pulled its 2025 earnings guidance due to higher-than-expected costs among Medicaid beneficiaries. That move underscored a broader issue rippling through the healthcare sector: escalating costs. UnitedHealth itself is no stranger to this trend. As a quick reminder, it cited unexpectedly high medical expenses among Medicare Advantage beneficiaries as a key reason for withdrawing its full-year guidance back in May. Given the industry-wide pain, it's no surprise that investors are hoping the upcoming Q2 earnings report, due July 29, might offer some signs of relief. Unfortunately, that may be wishful thinking. One top investor, known by the pseudonym Quad 7 Capital, anticipates the earnings release could be 'rough.' Still, despite a host of negative signals, the investor also sees potential silver linings that shouldn't be overlooked. 'Headwinds galore from regulatory scrutiny, Medicare Advantage costs, and management changes, but insiders are buying, and the valuation is historically cheap,' explains Quad 7, who is among the top 2% of TipRanks' stock pros. Specifically, the investor suspects that Medicare Advantage costs likely remained a drag during the second quarter, particularly early on. But the key question is whether those costs have begun to stabilize – and how the company plans to manage them going forward. In addition, Quad 7 will be closely watching for any updates to guidance on the upcoming call, noting it's essentially a coin toss at this point. Any clarity on that front could significantly shape investor sentiment. Meanwhile, the relentless stream of bad news has driven UNH's valuation down to a level Quad 7 considers compelling. Despite the recent turmoil, the company continues to generate 'strong' free cash flows and maintain a solid return on equity – two signs that the core business remains fundamentally sound. 'Make no mistake, this is a profitable business even with all of the pain… We are looking for an inflection from this Q2 print,' Quad 7 concludes, assigning a Buy rating to UNH stock. (To watch Quad 7 Capital's track record, click here) Wall Street analysts largely agree. With 18 Buy ratings far outnumbering 7 Holds and just 1 Sell, UNH earns a Moderate Buy consensus rating. The average price target of $357.14 implies potential upside of ~22%. 'Full Access to Indonesia' Means Another Big Boeing (NYSE:BA) Buy
If Kelly Ortberg is not preparing a fruit basket or something for President Donald Trump, it would be a sign of remarkable ingratitude. Because Trump once again proved himself the best sales rep that Ortberg never hired. Aerospace stock Boeing (BA) actually managed to slip fractionally in Tuesday afternoon's trading despite a hefty new sale in Indonesia. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Unlock powerful investing tools, advanced data, and expert analyst insights to help you invest with confidence. Make smarter investment decisions with TipRanks' Smart Investor Picks, delivered to your inbox every week. President Trump once again brought a major win to Boeing's doorstep, as a recent deal set between the United States and Indonesia meant a 19% tariff rate for Indonesia, a 0% tariff rate on American goods going into the country, and a deal for 50 new jets for Boeing. The details were kept somewhat quiet, but President Trump noted that 'many' of the Boeing planes purchased would be 777s. Given that the 777X is not yet certified, Indonesia must be prepared to wait a while to get their hands on these. Beyond that, the early numbers released suggest that the $18 billion trade surplus Indonesia has with the United States would be effectively gone as a result. But How Many 787s Can They Make? While Indonesia is waiting on its 777s, Boeing is considering production rates on its 787 lineup. And Boeing has very ambitious plans to produce the widebody jet, increasing production on them to 16 a month. This is just for one plant, as well. Specifically, the Charleston, South Carolina plant, which by itself would produce somewhere around double its previous production. The previous record production pace was 14 a month, and that rate was split between Charleston and the Everett plant in Washington state. Thus, depending on the exact rate of the split, which was unavailable, Charleston may be on track to double production outright. This would require an upgrade, as Charleston can only handle 12 787s a month, based on an analysis from 2020. But back in December, Boeing announced plans to drop a full billion dollars on upgrades for the Charleston plant. And given that Boeing wants to hit that 16-a-month target rate by 2030, the upgrade may come just in time. Is Boeing a Good Stock to Buy Right Now? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on BA stock based on 18 Buys, two Holds and one Sell assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 24.43% rally in its share price over the past year, the average BA price target of $233.25 per share implies 1.79% upside potential.
